Quadriceps exercises- lie straight, make a towel role and put it under the knee, press the keen against the role, hold it for 20 secs. Repeat 20 times twice a day. This will help relieve some pain. Core strengthening exercise- straight leg raised with toes turned outward, repeat 10 times, twice a day.

Hi this is dr.Vyas first u have to consult an orthopedic dr. Take an x-ray of lumber Spain. Take some mediation like pain killer, muscle relexent and antacid. Then do physiotherapy sessions for 7-10 day with ift ,back extension exercises and hot fermentation. She may get relief in 15 days then do regular low intensity exercises.

I have fell down from vehicle and found that lower part of fibula bone is fractured. Then advice me for how many days I wear air boot to become normal.

6 weeks of support is necessary. it also depends on the level of the fracture and I suspect if your surgeon has given you an air boot then it will be a stable fracture. you can upload your xrays

It is very important to understand the reason for pain, before treatment. Send me your digital xray, so that proper treatment regimen can be started. Just by applying volini etc, it will not be treated.

I am a 20 year old female and have backpain for last 3 months, what should I do?

Dip. SICOT (Belgium), MNAMS, DNB (Orthopedics), MBBS
Orthopedist,
Hi thanks for your query and welcome to lybrate. I am Dr. Akshay from fortis hospital, new delhi. You should not be having persistent back pain, please elaborate your problem in detail as to whether there is any pain radiating down in legs and any other symptoms like numbness, paraesthesia, weakness in legs etc do you feel fever, weight loss, loss of apetite etc if you have localized back pain, you can start with - to maintain proper posture while working and sleeping - if pain is more then you can take a short course of an anti-inflammatory medication which suits you - physical therapy initially under supervision of a trained physiotherapist and then to continue at home - adequate calcium & vitamin d intake if levels are low in body - ice packs can applied if your pain is acute, then hot fomentation can be done at home - analgesic spray for local application can be used and is easily available. Get back to me in case your symptoms do not get better in 2-3 weeks time. Actually I will advise for dynamic x rays of your back if you are not improving with conservative management after 2-3 weeks time and also few blood tests like esr, crp and vitamin d levels (if you can do it early, it will be useful). Do not hesitate to contact me if you need any further assistance.

A game like football requires excessive energy. Proper use of muscles and joints. Before the game your friend must do proper warm up and stretching. And after the game cool down body and relax. Cramps means possible dehydration, so make sure to stay hydrated during, before and after the game.

The most common form of morning stiffness and pain is due to muscle imbalances and poor conditioning of the muscles themselves. Here are some tips for how to handle your back pain: -while sleeping, try lying in a curled-up, fetal position with a pillow between your legs. If you usually sleep on your back, place a pillow or rolled towel under your knees to relieve pressure. -find a mattress with back support. A good mattress should provide support for the natural curves and alignment of the spine. Medium-firm mattresses usually provide more back pain relief than firm mattresses. -do not perform activities that involve heavy lifting or twisting of your back -avoid bending forward and sitting in a place for long time -stretching and strengthening exercises are important. -a physiotherapist can tell you when to begin stretching and strengthening exercises and learn how to safely, easily, stretch and strengthen the weak and tight areas of your lower back and hips which cause pain while sleeping. Best wishes.
