Quit habits strictly. Seems like you have oral submucous fibrosis (OSMF). Kindly consult an oral & maxillo facial surgeon in person for further suggestion. We need more investigations with clinical examination to decide upon treatment. You may need conservative or surgical management for mouth opening depending upon the stage of OSMF .Advise full mouth opening, ballooning exercise & side to side movement of the jaw. Wrap 25 to 30 ice-cream sticks, make a bundle, put it between upper & lower front teeth for 15 minutes thrice a day increase 1 sticks each day.

Hi lybrate-user, the toothache you are suffering from may be due to any of the following causes 1. Cavity/tooth decay 2. Tooth fracture/broken tooth 3. An improper filling 4. Gum disease the most common cause is a cavity or tooth decay, which usually requires a root canal treatment (rct). The same treatment applies to a tooth fracture as well. In case of a damaged filling, there may be two possibilities: either the filling can be removed and replaced with a new one after applying a soothing base material; or if the damaged filling is placed deep near the nerves of the tooth, it may require an rct. Infected gums usually are treated with deep cleaning/scaling after which there is permanent relief from pain. I suggest that that you consult me privately on lybrate, so that I can provide more specific answers. You will be able to send across images of your aching tooth/teeth, and looking at them will help me be in a better position to solve your problem.

There could be several reasons for your sensitivity like eating acidic foods, teeth-grinding (can wear down the enamel), using tooth-whitening toothpaste, frequent mouthwashes, having gum disease, having excessive plaque, having a recent dental procedure, having a cracked tooth or decayed teeth, etc. Tooth sensitivity is treatable. In fact, you might find that using toothpaste specifically made for sensitive teeth helps. However, these formulas don’t work for everyone. If your sensitivity is extreme and persists no matter what you do, see your dentist for an evaluation. A visit to a dentist can determine the most likely cause of your tooth sensitivity and the best solution for your particular situation.

Hello Mr. lybrate-user! Although your blood sugar levels are not alarmingly high, nevertheless high blood sugar levels do have their detrimental effects on the body. The oral cavity (mouth) is not saved either! High blood sugar levels bring down the immunity of the body and minor and small infections also escalate causing a lot of problems. I strongly suggest you to keep your blood sugar levels under control and meet good physician who can help you with that. Oral Health can be kept optimum by timely visits to your dentists and taking his/her recommendations seriously and putting them into practise. A good dentist will always tell you about best practises and tips and tricks about keeping a good oral hygiene. Do not ignore small decays and never ignore gum disease, as these are especially more common in diabetics. Regarding a good toothpaste. Well there is no such thing as the best tooth paste. Any tooth paste is always as good as your brushing habits and techniques. Although I would suggest you to keep away from tooth pastes which have any type of abrasives in it, as long term use of these can be detrimental to the tooth structure. There you go. I hope this was of some help to you. Do take good care of your teeth! Thanks, Cheers.

Sometimes the filling remains a bit high. So while chewing when teeth come in contact. You feel pain. Or otherwise if the filling is very near to the tooth inner structure we call it pulp. Then also you may get pain. X ray will reveal the truth. Go back to your dentist n get it checked properly if it is high. The dentist will trim it off or otherwise will do the x ray n will do the treatment accordingly. For time being if pain is not bearable. Take one painkiller like. Brufen. Take care.

Hello, you should brush your teeth for atleast 4 minutes, you should follow a proper brushing technique. There are less chances of cavities if you are brushing at night. Rinsing after every meal is necessary.

Diabetes is not a concern in the treatment of cavities.. 6- Cavity Having cavities is not a serious problem at all. Cavities which are not too deep can be excavated and be restored by a dental cement. Cavities that are very deep can be cured by root canal treatment followed by crown ( cap ). For better prevention of cavities , 1- Follow proper brushing technique. 2- Brush twice a day 3-clean your teeth immediately every time after you eat fiid or liquids. 4- Undergo scaling ( cleaning of teeth) at the interval of every 5-6 months. 5- Visit dentist for regular oral cavity check up every 4 months for the early diagnosis and prevention of dental diseases. Kindly consult a dentist in person for further suggestion. We need more investigations with clinical examination to decide upon treatment. May be viral pharyngitis. If so, there is no specific treatment for viral pharyngitis. You can relieve symptoms by gargling with warm salt water several times a day (use ½ teaspoon of salt in a glass of warm water). Taking anti-inflammatory drugs or medications, such as acetaminophen, can control symptoms.

Hi doc. Is it possible to recover from cavity naturally or any other way other than drilling and filling teeth.

Hi doc.
Is it possible to recover from cavity naturally or any other way other than drilling and filling teeth.
Apply turmeric powder on your cavity. Leave it for 10 minutes and then rinse your mouth. Another option is to mix turmeric powder in sesame oil and apply it on your teeth. Leave it for 10 minutes and then rinse your mouth.

Food or drinks acidic in nature should be consumed as little as possible. Consuming them in a large quantity can cause cavities as they soften the tooth material that further leads to the dissolution of minerals into the tooth enamel.
