I'm 30 year old and having severe back pain for the past two months. I have tried many ointment, nothing works. Kindly help me.

DHMS (Diploma in Homeopathic Medicine and Surgery)

Back pain may be due to strain, sprain, weather change etc. *Avoid bending forward while working on lap top or for any other work. *Don’t sit continuously working on laptop etc. Get up periodically and move around. *Restrict bike driving as far as possible. *Don’t carry laptop or any load on your shoulder. Carrying very light loads equally with both hands is better *Sit straight so that back bone gets proper support. A dining chair is better than a laid back sofa. *You can use mustard oil for massage which is good in winter season for relieving pain. Eucalyptus oil is also good *Soft bed will not give proper support to your back bone. Hard bed with thin mattress and thin pillow is better. *Get yourself tested whether you have spondylitis problem. Homoeopathy has a good treatment for this without adverse effects. To start with, take Bryonia 200--once daily in the morning and evening for 6 days.

Hi thanks for your query and welcome to lybrate. You will have to elaborate her complaints in detail: 1) what weakness are you talking, is it generalized fatigue after work? 2) which joints are affected, whats been the duration of joint pains? how much distance can she walk normally and what medicines is she taking on a daily basis? such issues can be due to anemia or deficiency of certain minerals and vitamins in body. I advise you to send me all investigations so that I can see and then advise you accordingly. Do not hesitate to contact me if you need any further assistance. Thanks & regards Dr Akshay Kumar Saxena

Backpain lasting for 2 years must be having a underline cause which you need to attend soon. Try paying a visit to a physiotherapist for proper evaluation. In the meanwhile take care that you maintain correct posture all the time and perform simple forward and backward movement of back.

So pleas help me to come out from this suffering disease.

MSPT (Master of Physical Therapy)
Physiotherapist,
I have little idea about homeo medicine. But every medicine will have its positive effect it is meant for. But the result depends on patient also. If you want to try it please do it for at least few months. But, whatever stream of medicine you take you combine with few regular exercises which may help you to perform daily activities of life. There are simple exercises to be followed everyday which may relieve or reduce your pain that you may find in net. All the best for your healthy moves!

Ice therapy would definitely help to reduce the inflammation. We also advise you to use knee cap which would help to prevent the knee from damaging further and also to maintain the quadriceps muscle tone.

Here are some tips for how to handle your back pain: -stop normal physical activity for the first few days. This will help relieve your symptoms and reduce any swelling in the area of the pain. -Apply heat or ice to the painful area. One good method is to use ice for the first 48 to 72 hours, and then use heat. Take pain relievers medicine. --While sleeping, try lying in a curled-up, fetal position with a pillow between your legs. If you usually sleep on your back, place a pillow or rolled towel under your knees to relieve pressure. -Find a mattress with back support. A good mattress should provide support for the natural curves and alignment of the spine. Medium-firm mattresses usually provide more back pain relief than firm mattresses. -Do not perform activities that involve heavy lifting or twisting of your back for the first 6 weeks after the pain begins. -Avoid bending forward and sitting in a place for long time -Good posture plays a key role in your spine health, helping to prevent additional back and neck pain and even injuries to spinal structures. Try to be aware of your posture and make good posture part of your normal routine. -head up, shoulders back, rear tucked under -Stand and walk with correct posture -Sit with support -Lift and carry carefully -And finally, keep moving:-Maintaining a static position for too long—more than twenty or thirty minutes at a time—is hard on the back. Prolonged static posture can slowly deplete elasticity from the tissues. By simply moving—be it a change of position, a stretch, or a short walk—the tissue elasticity needed to protect your joints can be restored and the associated discomfort reduced. -Stretching and strengthening exercises are important. But, starting these exercises too soon after an injury can make your pain worse. -Some Physiotherapy treatment like IFT current can give you relief. -Consult a Physiotherapist for detail assessment and management of your back pain. Best wishes.
