Pancreas secrets insulin produced by its beta cells when it gets signals that blood glucose is rising when you ingest food. And when level of sugar falls insulin secretion stops. If you have family history of diabetes you should take normal balanced diet, do regular exercise, walk, yoga, maintain normal body weight, get your blood sugar regularly tested.

Avoid tea/coffee alcohol, smoking spicy food. Life style changes and food habbits can solve your problem easily. Chew your food properly. Avoid outside food. Walk about 3-5 kms daily. There should be gap of 2hrs after dinner and sleep. Small and frequent meals is of help. Keep your blood sugar controlled. Raise your bed about 4" from headend side. Get your gastroendoscopy done. Consult doctor, meanwhile take nexpro-l 1 tab daily.

What is meaning of pancreatic amylase and what happens if value is 146. What should I do. What is absolute counts basophil. What happens if it's 0.01.what should I do. Thanks.

B.A.M.S, MD (Ayu.) Kayachikitsa
Ayurveda,
Dear Thanks for raising your concern 1. Pancreatic amylase is a digestive enzyme secreted by pancreas into the small intestine where it begins the chemical process of digestion 2. Normal value in some labs are upto 140U/L whereas in some labs it is in between 23-85U/L [so please double check or consult a qualified doctor/physician near your locality] and high value usually signifies either damage/blockage in the pancreas 3. Basophils are part of white blood cells which take part in strengthening the immunity of the body and low count usually signify either hyperthyroidism, allergic reaction or bacterial infection and since value of basophil count vary from lab to lab kindly consult your doctor for best options.
