I am suffering from dry cough for the last two weeks and I have red eye for three days. What should I do?

MD in Ophthalmology, MBBS
Ophthalmologist, Delhi
Coughing per se can cause red eyes and needs no treatment. Red eyes can also be part of viral upper respiratory tract infection that also resolves spontaneously. Just wash eyes with cold water, whiling keeping them shut.

I have red eyes over 5 days. What should I do? Is it only because of weather change or anything serious?

DHMS (Diploma in Homeopathic Medicine and Surgery)

I have red eyes over 5 days. What should I do? Is it only because of weather change or anything serious?
. It is due to dry air in winters, which creates a burning or itchy sensation or the feeling that a foreign object is in your eye. The cause may be the lower humidity levels inside your home or office when the heat is on and the windows are closed. Spending time outside on windy winter days can also have a drying effect. People who wear contact lenses are the ones most likely to experience this problem, but it can affect anyone, Over time, dryness can cause blurred vision or damage the cornea, which can also lead to blurriness.-- 1. Moisten your eyes. Drink extra fluids and use a hot- or cold-air humidifier while you’re awake and your eyes are open.- 2. Add tears. Lubricating eye drops provide comfort. These help supplement the natural tear layer and keep the tears from evaporating so quickly,-- 3. Blink more. When you’re concentrating on a complex visual task, such as using a computer, you just don’t blink as often, which can exacerbate winter dryness, If your eyes feel dry at work, make a point of blinking more often. 4. Wear glasses. If you’re outdoors on a blustery day, sunglasses will protect your eyes from the drying effects of the wind. Homoeopathic medicine- CINELUBE EYEDROPS (HAPDCO) Pour 2 drops 3 times daily.

I forgetting what I listen in the class and what I read on the book.
Yes, this may be true because of your age. I suspect that you are going through a spurt in the production of the male sex hormone, which affects you in three ways quite unknown to you. First, there will be a sexual agenda that it will kick off, secondly, there will be aggressiveness and rebelliousness, and thirdly, you will suffer from acne and pimple problems. This is the effect of the hormone that has a duration of almost two years and you will have no control over it. But if you have a good value system you will tide over this phase without significant damage. The hormonal imbalances may not only impact your memory because of the chemical but also bring along some distractions that come with it. But you may work on the following even if the hormones kick in: Daily exercise of at least half an hour is a must. Even if you go to a gym, ask for aerobic and/or callisthenic exercises with whatever else you are doing. A healthy body harbors a healthy mind. With regard to memory, it is very important that your brain and body is ideally rested to be able to recall whatever is required, rather comfortably. Puzzles pose problems to the brain that help it to use new pathways and neurons, which give the brain considerable exercise. It taxes the left brain to use logic to solve the myriad possibilities which other activities do not stimulate. Crosswords are excellent for vocabulary learning and use. Jigsaws and Rubik cube stimulate different permutations to finally settle on the most likely one. Picture completion and anagrams help approach problem solving from several angles. Do Sudoku, and memory co-relation activities and skills. Have a good night’s sleep, have a good breakfast of more proteins, meditate often, remain free of stress, eat a lot of fiber (whole grains, fruits and vegetables), nuts, avocado, eat dark chocolate, consume less of fat and use olive oil instead, do Yoga meditation exercises, etc. You need to check out if you are stronger visual or auditory. The visual is a better mode than the auditory. However, if you combine the two modes, you will get the best concentration. Have a special place of learning, which should be well lit, with soft painted walls, well-ventilated, with no distractions. When you get bored, study by writing. If you repeat learning at least five to seven times, you will apparently remember for a longer time. Sit comfortably but do not slouch. The reading material should be of a fairly large print. Study at small intervals of about 40 minutes and then take a break or change the subject. Short-term memory is a faculty of the left brain, and long-term memory is a feature of the right brain. When people are stressed, they tend to favor the right brain and abandon the left brain, where short-term memory resides. So, it is really very simple: deal with the stress and activate left brain functions. Here are a few suggestions to activate left brain function: shut your left nostril and breathe, move your eyes from right to left and vice versa for at least half a minute at a time, and do callisthenic exercises with some form of counting, regularly. There are some memory enhancing techniques and study methods that your teacher will be able to guide you with. If your home life is full of distractions and stress, it is likely to affect your memory, adversely. In that case, I suggest that you and the family go for counseling too. The following foods do help too: Blueberries, walnuts, turmeric, Spinach, tomatoes, broccoli, acorn squash, green tea, oily fish, boiled egg, turkey, apples, oatmeal, leafy greens, lentils, pumpkin seeds, avocado, cinnamon, thyme, sunflower seeds, and red wine. Avoid junk food.

Sir, I have central serous retinopathy on left eye for last three months. What should I do? Please reply me.

Sir, I have central serous retinopathy on left eye for last three months. What should I do? Please reply me.
Central serous retinopathy (CSR), also known as central serous chorioretinopathy (CSC or CSCR), is an eye disease which causes visual impairment, often temporary, usually in one eye. In addition to distorted central vision, your vision may also appear blurred or dim. You may have a blind spot in your central vision. You may also notice a distortion of straight lines in your affected eye, or objects may appear smaller or further away than they actually are. When you look at a white object, it may appear to have a brownish tinge or appear duller in color. Call a doctor if you notice changes in your vision, particularly if they are sudden. Changes may include: Blurring Spots Flashes Blind spots Distortion Difficulty reading or doing detail work. Treatment Retinopathy of prematurity — No treatment is recommended during the early stages. However, close monitoring is essential. An ophthalmologist should examine high-risk infants before they are discharged from the hospital. Infants should be examined again at 8 weeks of age. If the disease is active, the infant should be examined every 1 to 2 weeks until he or she is 14 weeks old. After that, they should be examined every 1 to 2 months. More advanced disease may require treatment. A procedure called cryotherapy uses cold to destroy abnormal blood vessels. Laser treatments may also be used. A detached retina can be reattached.

Feed your eyes. Eyes are just like any other part of the body – they need nutrition to function at an optimal level. Similar to other organs, a diet high in fruits and vegetables and low in sugar and fatty foods will go a long way in maintaining healthy eyes.[1] Vitamin A, C, an E, along with minerals like copper and zinc should be in your daily diet. These vitamins and minerals are essential for good vision and protection against disease. Eat strawberries, oranges, eggs, salmon, mackerel, and almonds for your vitamins, and oysters, crab, or turkey for your minerals. Antioxidants such as beta-carotene, lutein, and zeaxanthin help protect your eyes from getting sun damage. You can find these antioxidants in dark leafy vegetables, pumpkins, sweet potatoes, and carrots. Garlic, onions, and caper should be in your diet to get sulfur, cysteine, and lecithin, which protect the lens of your eyes from forming cataracts. Blueberries, grapes, and goji contain anti-inflammatory properties, such as anthocyanin, that will help improve your vision. About 1,000 mg of omega-3 fatty acids per day will help prevent macular degeneration (AMD) and dry eyes. Salmon, mackerel, herring, flaxseeds, and walnuts are high in omega-3 fatty acids. it will help. thanks

There a gray colour spot on one of my eyes. Is it any harmful to my eyes. Please sujjest me.

DHMS (Diploma in Homeopathic Medicine and Surgery)
Homeopath, Ludhiana
There a gray colour spot on one of my eyes. Is it any harmful to my eyes. Please sujjest me.
Although These Grey spots are usually and due to child have thin sclera and pigment collects around where small blood vessels or nerves enter into the choroid under the sclera, the choroid is pigmented. Often these go away as the child's sclera gets thicker with age.But you being 18 years of age and still these spots are in the eyes.So although it seems like it could not cause any problem but my suggestion is to get the eyes physically examined by a local eye specialist to rule out any deep seated problem.

I have -3 eye sight I am not interested in eye glasses what I have to do to improve my eye vision.
There is no medication or food for improving eyesight or to get rid of glasses. If not interested in glasses then you can try a. Contact lens b. Lasik laser as your age is now 20 years so your number will not increase now whether you wear glasses or not as number becomes stable at age of 18-20 yrs. Having said that I advise you to eat balanced diet including green vegetables and seasonal fruits for keeping eyes and body healthy. As you are not comfortable with contact lens then go for lasik. Lasik is a very easy and painless procedure. If you want to get rid of glasses then go for lasik.
