Ice therapy would definitely help to reduce the inflammation. We also advise you to use knee cap which would help to prevent the knee from damaging further and also to maintain the quadriceps muscle tone.

Hey, Thanks for your query. Maintain the following tips: Take energy rich healthy foods.(Brown rice, soy products, oats,almonds, quinoa,animal protein egg white, chicken/fish, milk and milk products, fruits specially apples/banana and vegetables) Eat small amout at a time bt frequently. Drink more water. Avoid cigarette smoking, caffeine, alcohol and tobacco and illegal drugs. Regular moderate exercise. Do the medical tests (TC, DC,TOTAL HB, BLOOD SUGAR ONLY FASTING). Check Blood Pressure also.

Yes your sugar level is within the normal limit. But it is in the normal range only with medications. You need to bring it to normalcy nd maintain it without medicines. Following ayurveda will be good for you. Then about foods have wheat millets preparations esply for dinner. Avoid tapioca jack fruit etc have juice of 3-4 indian gooseberry juice with turmeric powder after the break fast daily. Do exercise and yoga daily.

Avoid sitting cross legged. Avoid squatting- quadriceps exercises- lie straight, make a towel role and put it under the knee, press the keen against the role, hold it for 20 secs. Repeat 20 times twice a day. This will help relieve some pain. Core strengthening exercise- straight leg raised with toes turned outward, repeat 10 times, twice a day. Hams stretching- lie straight, take the leg up, pull the feet towards yourself, with a elastic tube or normal belt. Repeat 10 times, twice a day. Sports taping- stretch the tape from both ends and apply on the affected area contrast fomentation (hot and cold).

Hello, As per your BMI you should weigh around 61-65 KGS, however BMI cannot be considered the most accurate and reliable tool to assure Ideal body weight (IBW). A complete body composition analysing will help you to have more accurate judgement on your weight. But you surely need weight gain. Take care.

You need to eat right food and right amount instead of'eating lot' take small meals in frequent interval. Take curd or in form of raita. Choose complex carbohydrate instead of simple carbohydrate. Choose blended oil. Take high biological protein containing foods. Eat more more fruits and vegetables.

Sir, My age is 43, male, weight 107 kg, height 170 cms. I am suffering from severe pain in calf muscles of both legs with osteoarthritis of knees. I am getting medicines diacerein 50 mg (two capsules daily), calcirol sachet (once in a week, nurokind-G (at bed time), tablet shelcal (one in a day). It is further submitted that I am also patient of high bp and hypothyroidism and taking Telma 40 in the morning and amlong in the night for high bp. Thyronorm 75 mcg for hypothyroidism. My doctor said that my knees grease has been over and cartridge of knees have been worn. He suggested to take lubricant/grease injection for my knees problem. Please suggest me the right treatment for my knees and calf muscles problem.

Hello Mr. lybrate-user, Apart from taking medicines do proper exercises for your knees. Exercises like strenght training of your quadriceps especially VMO, stretching for hamstring, calf,TFl, proprioceptive training, apply ice 3 times a day if it is swelled too much, you can also apply hinged knee brace if you feel pain during walking in your knees. Consult a good qualified Physiotherapist for proper care further.

When you are trying to gain weight, you should eat food the rich in vitamins and minerals. 1. Healthy food includes meat, egg, milk, fruit vegetables, fruits, and nuts. Cashews, almonds, dates, walnuts, dry grapes, apricots, peaches are some of the dried fruits and nuts that can be added to breakfast, salads, cereal and desserts. Sesame seeds, ground nuts, and peanuts also contain fats in them and can help in adding that extra pounds you desire. 2. Sometimes loss of appetite may also cause weight loss. So you should take following remedies improving weight a]triphala kadha 4tsp before lunch and dinner b]amala juice 4 tsp + sugar 2 tsp+ honey 2 tsp empty stomach in the morning umami flavor increases satiety and enhances appetite. Due to improving hunger and digestion whatever you will eat more and even you eat more it will digest properly and your weight will increase naturally without any supplement.

Eat meals at frequent intervals. Eat a mid meal between each main meal. Avoid junk foods. Include dairy eggs nuts fruits in your meals. Avoid alcohol and smoking. Exercise at least thrice a week. Even if you were to take medicines or supplements. They will not work in isolation. You have to have a calorie and nutrient dense meal.
