I have developed a habit of over thinking I always overthink on every issue and its been 3 years since I am suffering from this habit of over thinking during the whole day I keep on thinking on one or the other issue and probably because of this habit of over thinking I always remain sad and unsatisfied with my life pls tell me what should I do? Is there any medicine available that can help me in overcoming my habit of over thinking?

Hi lybrate-user, Thanks for posting your problems on Lybrate. 1. First what you have to understand is our mind is like a running river, it keeps flowing. But when it starts overflowing, we have to keep a check on that so that it does not cause harm to us. 2. Like wise, the problem you are facing is over thinking which needs to be kept under chack so that you can concentrate on other important issues of your life. 3. The cause for this is:- few of the neurons in the brain are over activated because of excess synthesis of neurotransmitters like Norepinephrine, Dopamine and Glutamate and under-synthesis of Serotonin. The levels of these should be normal for us to think in a normal way. 4. So, with medications, the levels of these said neurotransmitters can be brought to normal, so that your thinking pattern comes back to normal. Kindly clarify few things to me, 1. Do you consider those thought keep coming even though you try hard to stop them from coming? 2. As you know already you have problem of overthinking, what methods have you tried to control them. 3. Have you consulted doctor before and tried medications and counselling, if yes, specify treatment. 4. How have this over thinking affected your social life, personal life, profession. Currently I consider you may be suffering from Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, which is quite common in our country and with medications and counselling, it can be effectively controlled.

1. Keep yourself hydrated. 2. Get extra rest for some days till you feel more energetic. 3. Avoid watching television for long hours. Indulge in relaxing activities. 4. Avoid stress and too much physical exertion. 5. Take a nutritious diet with more protein items in homemade food like soya, sprouts, dals, paneer, milk, seasonal fruits. 6. Do light physical activity, meditation and yoga.

I have suffering somatization disorder or also affect chronic anxiety so all time I feel chest pain, dizziness,vertigo, body pain pr stomach pain or scrotum or penile pain many also basically I alws feel that I have suffer heart attack & die alws think about heart attack like phobia. My question is is anxiety or stress create heart attack? I do "tmt or echo" 1 years ago report is normal but till now I feel heart attack & feared so can please help me & I prefer ayurvedic medicine can I cure anxiety from this ayurvedic?

No heart attack has nothing to Do with your anxiety or stress. But stop this thinking which is baseless. Concentrate on other issues of your life. Don't suffer from hypothetical fear. You may consult cardiologist and get checked your heart health and be free from such fear. Enjoy life.

Do not be disappointed. Life is beautiful enjoy it. One person ignores you does not mean whole world ignores u. There r people who love u.u will find new relationship soon developing. 1.no alcohol 2. Reduce body wt 3. No smoking 4. Diet - no ghee/ butter, have mix of vegetable oils - mustard, til, ground nut, olive oil, have more green vegetables and fruits, have whole grain atta, no fried. Fast. Spicy / processed/ junk food. Less sugar, potato, rice 5. 30 mts brisk walk daily, start your day with walk 6. Deep breathing exercise for 10 mts daily 7. Meditation daily for 10 mts. 6-8 hrs of sleep at night 8. Social support from friends and family members 9. Expose your body to sun for 15-20 mts daily after some oil massage to get vit d. I want to share with you that. I am a musician. I was dumbed by a girl. In 10th standard. The girl Left me because of money problem. Now after 2 years. I m going to deep depression. I do not know why. I do not want to get in relationship with some one. Or with her. But when I hear about her from my friends. That she has a boyfriend. I feel very anger in my self. I want to love her. But I do not want to see her face. I will kill her. I know. Thats why I feel very angry all the time. The only thing that control me is music. But now days. The best decision is move away from this negativity and people who value money more than your worth. its good that you got rid of her and you should not ever think of going back to the same person. You are very very young. A lot of girls will enter your life and you will form meaningful relations. Tell your friends strictly not to mention about her. The best way to make someone realize is MOVE ON. Focus on building a career and have meaningful relation and friendship. Soon it will be fine.

Depression is curable but you must combine medication with counseling. You must be consistent and cooperative for anything to work. In the meantime please do the following sincerely because you could resolve the problem better with good cooperation: Have a good night’s sleep, have a good breakfast of more proteins, meditate often, remain free of stress, eat a lot of fiber, nuts, avocado, exercise regularly, eat dark chocolate, do Yoga meditation exercises, etc. I suggest you do the opposite of what this depression makes you feel like doing (actually, not doing): you will need to fight this condition. You must become active; stay upright during the daylight time; meet people; never sleep during the day, wake up by 6 am every day, play some active games, especially contact games, do physical exercises, talk to people and join some social clubs, attend Yoga classes etc. Watch sitcoms on TV or comedies and cheer yourself up. Go for excursions in groups, for outings, camps, conferences, and religious conventions. Get a pet dog and spend time training it, exercising it and relating to it. Expose yourself to some sunlight every day, at least, 30 minutes but not in the scorching heat. Whatever happens, please incorporate these three important adaptations in your life: always be responsible, be respectful, and be functional. If you did these three, lots of things will go well in life. Please pray and have faith in God to alleviate your sufferings. Don’t wait for others to help. Use your own motivation, which might be at its lowest, but persevere and win this battle. Above all to be really happy, you need to live in love and for love. Learn all about emotions and how to handle them and that will get you out of the depression rather easily and quickly. A counselor is there only to facilitate you, all the hard word must come from you, and your cooperation with that person is very critical for your success. Be positive every day and learn to be contented with what you have. Do some left brain exercises: it is the happy brain. Here are a few suggestions: shut your left nostril and breathe, move your eyes from right to left and vice versa for at least half a minute at a time, and do calisthenic exercises with some form of counting, regularly. Whatever happens please cooperate with the therapy and do not discontinue until the condition is completely resolved.
