My doctor has asked me to go for metabolic surgery as I am obese. And due to overweight I have irregular periods and high bp and irresistible leg pain. I am afraid whether I shud go for it or not. As this has side effects too and it's very costly too.

Recently we checkup her blood sugar levels 154 mg/DL given in report please tell me what is the status.

His random blood sugar is slightly high. It should have been preferrably <100. Repeat blood sugar test (fasting&pp, hba1c and consult physician with report for advice and treatment. Weight reduction and dietary control can reduce your blood sugar at this stage.

I feel numbness in my foot when I fold my legs for more than 20 to 30 minutes is this need to treat or is it natural.?

It is natural and happens with all. Due to pressure, blood supply to lower limb gets compromised. This leads to numbness while sitting with folded legs for long. It becomes normal after few minutes. For prevention, keep changing your posture after 5-10 minutes.

Dear Lybrate user. I can understand. Memory and mindpower depends on three important factors. They are understanding, retention and recollection. You should be able to understand the passage or the information given perfectly so as to help your brain to retain the information or knowledge. Once it is retained properly, recollection happens whenever a memory relation is given. Understanding usually requires creative learning methods and repetition. Providing rest to your brain every half hour while studying continuously help improve concentration. Physical exercises, entertainment, socialization improves memory. Diet which includes fruits, vegetables, nuts also improves memory. Mind games like Sudoku too help. Please understand these facts and apply them on your daily routine. Take care.

Take high protein, moderate carbohydrate and low fat diet. Because taking high fat diet will make you lazy. Eat egg 2 to 3 pcs. Thrice a week or fish. Add banana with milk and consume it. This will also increase your stamina.

My mother ,38 yrs old is suffering from terrible cough from 3 months.It gets fine sometimes indicating that she is free from cough but after few days the cough comes back getting more disastrous every time.She has consulted many doctors but their medicines gave releif for a day or to,but couldn't freed her from cough.Moreover she feels as if something is strucked in her throat and feels irritated as the cough seems to accumulate inside and does not comes outside.Her TONSIL is fine.Due to this she has developed pain in her neck region

You need to have diet plan based on your BMI & activities. Whatever we eat is metabolised by the body for the energy needed to do daily work and the excess is stored as fat. Abdomen is the first place to gain weight and last to disappear. In brief, Weight reduction can be achieved only by reducing the intake of food 1/3 of what you take now. And by appropriate exercise plans for each part like belly, thighs, legs / chest etc. To burn off fat. Some tips 1) Drink three or four cups of water whenever you feel hungry and just before eating food 2) Take boiled or raw vegetable like cucumber, carrot etc. As half of your diet. Then take 1/2 of your total diet as sprouted pulses / proteinaceous food like roti, cooked pulses and remaining with rice or other carbohydrates. Oil or ghee etc. Should be just bare minimum. And do aerobic exercises, running, jogging or at least walking briskly 3-5 KMs and swimming if possible, and in a gym if feasible. The most important is to burn off the energy intake by exercises. There is no short cut or medicines without exercise & dieting to take just as mush food as needed for your activities. The food we eat is utilised for our energy needs and the remaining will be stored as fat which leads to obesity. It is better to do some tests. Uterus shows normal size but a small fibroid measuring 28×20mms .Another fibroid is seen over its posterior wall. I want to know what treatment should be taken for fibroid and can it be removed by tablets?

Hello- Uterine fibroid happens due to irregular misconducts done specially at the time of menses which results in abnormal tissue growth clustering and forming a muscular mass or fibroid inside uterus. It has two treatment approaches, a fibroid with size bigger thn 5 cm is generally removed by the surgical operation, fibroid smaller th that can be managed with the help of medications. Medications also differ. ayurvedic medicines can dissolve the fibroid within three to four months if the size is less thn 5 cms or so.

Hello, Bloodshot eyes appear red because the vessels at the surface of the white portion of the eye become swollen. Vessels may swell due to: Eye dryness Too much sun exposure Dust or other particles in the eye Allergies Infection Injury Eye infections or inflammation can cause redness as well as possible itching, discharge, pain, or vision problems. Other causes of eye redness include Colds or allergies, Acute glaucoma, Corneal scratches: Injuries caused by sand, dust, or overuse of contact lenses. Sometimes, a bright red spot, called a subconjunctival hemorrhage, will appear on the white of the eye. This often happens after straining or coughing, which causes a broken blood vessel on the surface of the eye. Most often, there is no pain and your vision is normal. It is almost never a serious problem. Because the blood leaks into the conjunctiva, which is clear, you cannot wipe or rinse the blood away. Like a bruise, the red spot will go away within a week or two. Management: - Try to rest your eyes if redness is due to fatigue or eye strain. No other treatment is needed. - Wash your hands, hold clean water in your hand, keep your eyes closer to the water and dip the eyes by blinking the eyelids frequently in the held water in hand. Repeat it for 3-4 times again. - Avoid watching T. V. Working on computer or mobile, reading or frequently keep blinking your eyes to avoid dryness. Take frequent breaks in between. - In case there is itching, use a clean napkin or a tissue to wipe the tears and cleaning the eyelids gently. -Wear an UV-rays protected sunglasses while you are out in sun. Medication: Take homoeopathic medicines - Schwabe’s Belladonna 30 and Euphrasia 30 - both thrice daily for 4 days. Use Euphrasia Eye drops twice daily. Revert back thereafter.
