I am a student and due to study pressure, I need to work until very late in the night and after that I sleep till late in the afternoon. Is it healthy?

Follow these simple steps to ensure a good sleep every night and stay away from sleep disorders and other health problems associated with unhealthy sleep habits: 1) maintain a regular sleep routine go to bed at the same time. Wake up at the same time. Ideally, your schedule will remain the same (+/- 20 minutes) every night of the week. A good sleep hygiene routine promotes healthy sleep and daytime alertness. 2) avoid sleeping during the daytime. It can disturb the normal pattern. 3) avoid caffeine, nicotine, and alcohol near bedtime. While alcohol may speed the onset of sleep, it creates problems in he second half of sleep. 4) exercise can promote good sleep. Exercise should be taken in the morning or late afternoon. Yoga, can be done before bed to help. 5) have a quiet, comfortable bedroom. Set your bedroom thermostat at a comfortable temperature. Generally, a little cooler is better than a little warmer. Turn off the tv and other extraneous noise that may disrupt sleep. Background'white noise' like a fan is ok. If your pets awaken you, keep them outside the bedroom. Your bedroom should be dark. Turn off bright lights. Have a comfortable mattress. 6) avoid heavy meals close to bedtime. 7) ensure adequate exposure to natural light. 8) avoid emotionally upsetting conversations and activities before trying to go to sleep. Do not think of, or bring your problems to bed. 9) stop using all your digital devices and stop looking at digital screens be it mobile phones or televisions at least 1 hour before the time you plan to sleep. Instead try reading a fiction book near bedtime so it makes you help relaxed and de-stressed. Sleep well live healthy and live longer.

I am a sex addict. Whatever I do I am unable to control myself. I do sex at least twice a day. Will it harm me in future.?

Mr. lybrate-useruour age is 23 years it's not clear that you are married or single, so it is not clear you are addicted to sex to whom. According to your age you might be in some Job or a student, 1. So if doing sex is an obstacle in your day to day life then it is not good. 2. If you are married your better half is always ready and have no problem then OK. If she is having some problem the it may effect both health may also cause some infection some time. It may cause some problems which has been very well enumeated by sexologist. 3. I fyou are unmarried and you are having this practice then certainly it's a matter of concern for yoy as you may have STD/HIV/AIDS with unprotected sex which will ruin your carrier and devlop a no. Of problems to youand your family.

I am 25 year old. Sufring from prostatitis from last 6 month, I go to uroglist he gave me antibiotic for 4 week. With this treatment I am ok. But some symptom come back. I go to another uroglist. Dear , if your diagnosis is correct then given treatment is correct. However try to think back to see what was the cause of prostatitis. You see prostatitis is a difficult infection to get rid of. Usually it may be residual infection of uti most commonly urethritis. Dr. Kiran mehta.

I have fever around 101-102 for the last two days. My throat is aching. I have puked once and today morning I had loose motions but only once.

3 years back I got tb. After 3 years now I got tb second time what is the reason?

Reason is low immunity. The best way to boost your immunity is to take a multivitamin, a vitamin C and a fish oil tablet daily. Exercise daily. Eat a healthy diet and drink plenty of water. Avoid alcohol, nicotine and illegal substances.

I have a pain on my testis. Most probably it is happening even though it is not a regular problem. I think its happening after when my penis gets erected and nothing had happened. HI, Please follow these tips to get rid of constipation: 1. Drink 2-3 lts of water per day. 2. Consume lot of fibre in your diet like raw vegetables, fruits, whole grains, oats. Etc. 3. Eat one fully ripe big banana at bed time. 4. Drink one glass of hot milk with one spoon of ghee in it at bedtime. 5. Take your food at regular intervals. Avoid spicy and oil fried food. 6. Never curb the urge to pass stools. 7. Never put in lot of pressure to pass stools. 8. Take 2tsf of Abhayarista with 2 tsf of water mixed to it at bedtime to get an easy evacuation. 9. Mr. Lybrate-user, I am sure he is already on appropriate treatment, that should be continued. Strive to maintain fasting sugar closer to 100 mg and pp between 150 to 160 mg/100ml.& hba1c%<7. These levels will help in preventing or delaying long term complications of diabetes mellitus. Otherwise, consequences can be fairly bad. Apart from regular medication he should also take a restricted but balanced diet, that gives exact calories matching needs based on ideal body weight, sugar levels and extent of daily physical activity. Daily exercise of 1 hour plus is a must. He should avoid sweets, deep fried foods, junk foods and pastries. Should also refrain from alcohol, sweetened aerated drinks and smoking. Also avoid ghee, butter and high fat milk products like cheese.
