Hello. Gently move the razor on these areas. Medication: start immediately with homoeopathic medication - sulphur 200/ one dose daily in the morning for a week and a homoeopathic tincture called arnica montana and mix 1 tsp in 1/2 cup of water and apply upon the face on the beard and the mustache area with a cotton swab. Then use the razor movement technique as in 1 above. Repeat the above process every 3rd day and see the growth in 1 month. Take a red mushroom called ganoderma 5 gms. 2 times per day at 12 hours interval for 3 months.

I am suffering from tinnitus in ear and having bone pain like knee pain and heel pain. Back pain etc.

DORL, MBBS
ENT Specialist, Faridabad
I am suffering from tinnitus in ear and having bone pain like knee pain and heel pain. Back pain etc.
Whistling or buzzing in the ear is getting commoner these days in people of all ages. Most common causes is wax or any object in the ear, after getting your ears clean these gets over. But if ears are already clean than this is worrisome. Common causes which are responsible are high cholesterol diet, alcohol, smoking, loud noises, cervical spondylosis, trauma (self or inflicted) over the ears. If this is the situation than report to your ent doctor immediately tinnitus is basically due to hampered blood supply to ears due to which ears start dying. As this process starts a person starts hearing noises. When a person starts hearing noises then it is already late diagnosis as these noises gets heard by someone when they are of 40 db intensity, below that threshold these noises are not heard. So it is already to late and the damage has become permanent. Problem with these noises are that we can control at what level person goes to his specialist otherwise these noises keep on increasing and can give you headache frustration and depression. Now a days tinnitus maskers are available which help you to lead your life peacefully.

5 Fast Ways To Lose Your Belly

5 Fast Ways To Lose Your Belly

What are the fastest, easiest ways to lose that muffin top and ditch that gut? Believe it or not, the real path to a better midsection has very little to do with how many crunches you can knock out.
So what?s the magic formula?
Celebrate Your Health! LIKE BDO on Facebook!

1. Fuel Up
Foods rich in protein help you build muscle, while soluble fiber ? found in oats, beans, fruits, and veggies ? shrinks belly fat. A study from Wake Forest found that for every 10-gram increase in soluble fiber people ate daily (about two small apples, a serving of oatmeal, a half cup of pinto beans, and a half cup of peas), their belly fat decreased by almost 4% over five years.
2. Fiber
Adding ground flaxseed to your diet ? mix a teaspoon or two into cereal or yogurt ? helps prevent constipation. (It?s hard to have flat abs if your pipes are backed up.) To avoid stomachaches, increase fiber slowly and up your water intake, .
3. Cardio
In a Duke University study of 196 sedentary, overweight adults, aerobic training significantly reduced deep belly fat and also burned more visible midsection flab. To maximize the benefit with a minimum time commitment, try interval training, suggests exercise physiologist Jessica Matthews of the American Council on Exercise. Start with a 1:2 ratio (jog 30 seconds, then walk briskly for a minute), aiming for 150 minutes weekly.
4. Stand Up Straight
Standing tall, with tummy and butt tucked in, automatically makes your front look flatter. These two moves help you pull it off. Do each two to three times per week; work up to three sets of 12 reps. Even sitting up straight on a daily basis, instead of slouching over as you watch TV or are on your phone, will help you build up your muscles around your stomach. Just think about it: you?re doing a light version of a plank, standing up!
5. Strengthen Your Core
Glute Bridge: Lie on back with bent knees, feet on floor. Lift butt, drawing pelvis to the ceiling without arching back. Lower butt down slowly.
Bird Dog: From all fours, extend one arm and the opposite leg to shoulder and hip height simultaneously, keeping shoulders and hips squared to the floor. Lower slowly to start, and repeat on opposite side.
Front Plank: Lie on stomach, with forearms on floor and hands palm-down on either side of chest. Tuck toes, lift legs, tighten abs, and raise body to a modified push-up position, keeping forearms on the floor. Hold five seconds, then lower. Repeat three times. Work up to holding for 20 seconds each time.
Half-Kneel Lift: Kneel on right knee, with left foot forward and left knee at 90-degree angle. Hold a soccer ball with both hands at right hip. Without rotating body, slowly bring ball up and across until it?s above left shoulder and slightly behind you. Return to start. Do two to three sets of eight to 12 reps on each side.

I am 45 year male having sugar detected in my blood tested 20 days ago, fasting sugar 179 and after food 264, I already started morning walk, what should I do more?

MD - Medicine, MBBS

Try to reduce your weight if overweight. Continue walking. Avoid fatty and carbohydrate rich food. Try this for 2 months. If the blood sugar levels are still high then you need medical management.

4 Do’s and Don’ts on Drinking Alcohol + Common Myths Busted

4 Do’s and Don’ts on Drinking Alcohol + Common Myths Busted
4 Do’s and Don’ts on Drinking Alcohol + Common Myths Busted

There are several myths and misconceptions surrounding alcohol consumption. But at the heart of all such myths is the fact that alcohol consumption and its processing depends on various factors such as age, size and gender, among others. Here are some myths on alcohol consumption that do not hold true in reality.

Myth 1: Soft liquor doesn’t get you drunk

A common misconception centres on soft liquor and its alcoholic effects. Don’t assume that drinking of soft liquors like wine or beer means less alcohol content in your blood, which means lesser chances of you getting drunk. The factor that influences your intoxication levels depends not on the type of drinks you consume but on their quantity. So, whether it’s hard liquor (like gin and vodka) or soft liquor, you could still get intoxicated.

Do
It is best to set yourself limits so as to allow your body to process the alcohol.

Don’t
Drive if you have had too much of soft liquor.

Myth 2: Having food before drinking stops the absorption of alcohol

One of the most common myths around drinking alcohol is that eating food prior to drinking stops the body from absorbing the alcohol you consume. Well, this is not true. Food can only aid in delaying the effects of alcohol from setting in. Irrespective of your size, your body’s liver is capable of only handling one drink every hour. That’s why overindulging will only bring about an increase in alcohol concentration in your blood.

Do
To stave off the effects of intoxication and enjoy your glass of alcohol, try to have protein-rich foods before downing your drinks.

Don’t
Have more than one drink every hour.

Myth 3: It’s safe to drink and be on medications

False. Having alcohol while on medication can only lead to unwanted results. This is because interaction between the properties of the medicines and the alcohol brings about an increase in the drink’s alcoholic effect. Certain drugs (like cold medicine or pain killers) are known to significantly increase the intoxication effect of alcohol.

Do
Consult your doctor before consuming any kind of alcohol, in case of being on long-term medications.

Don’t
Drink when you’re on painkillers or cold medicine.

Myth 4: You can drive after an hour of having alcohol

The truth is that alcohol concentration in your body is significantly higher after 1 hour of having your drink. This is because your body begins to process the alcohol at that hour. So, driving after an hour of having alcohol is not safe.

Do
Get a cab for the ride back to your place.

Don’t
Drive if you’ve had your drink an hour ago.
