Hey. I am 20 years old.
My teeth are very very sensitive.
Can I overcome this problem.
Sensitivtiy can also b bcoz of cavities. Go for a thorough check up if cavities r there get them filled or it can b bcoz of wear off enamel surface or receeding gums around the neck of the tooth meantime you can try the sensitivity toothpastes if no relief is ther ein 2 weeks then visit your dentist.

I have pain when I eat cool items how can I relief from the pain.

BDS
Dentist,
I have pain when I eat cool items how can I relief from the pain.
You have teeth sensitivity problem. Teeth sensitivity is a result of loss of outer most layer (enamel) of teeth. That can be due to: - tooth grinding - acidic beverages (such as soda) that cause enamel erosion and dentin exposure. - brushing with a very abrasive toothpaste, brushing incorrectly and/or brushing more than three times a day could result in a loss of enamel. - a chipped or fractured tooth may expose the dentin. Here are few steps to avoid sensitivity of teeth: - practice good oral hygiene. - use a sensitivity toothpaste like sensodyne. - don't brush too hard. - use a softer toothbrush. - take care while consuming acidic foods. - use fluoridated dental products. - avoid grinding your teeth. - see your dentist regularly for professional tooth cleaning, dental care recommendations and advice on treating your sensitive teeth.

I am injured with pairia in my teeth on front. I try all kind of things but no good result shown on us! Wat can I do?

I am injured with pairia in my teeth on front.
I try all kind of things but no good result shown on us!
Wat can I do?
- use a soft toothbrush -- and brush properly! brush your teeth for at least two minutes twice a day and after meals. Hard brushing can further damage the soft tissues of your mouth. - floss at least once a day and be sure to floss beyond the gum line to remove more plaque. - control bleeding by applying pressure to the area with a cold compress. - rinse with salt water or hydrogen peroxide to keep the area clean. Avoid mouthwashes that contain alcohol, which can dry out your mouth. - stay away from smoking and other tobacco products, which can aggravate bleeding gums. - eat a balanced diet and limit snacking between meals. Carbohydrates and sugars feed dental plaque. - try an oral irrigation device, commonly known as a" water pick, to clear debris from around the gum line. - you may need deep cleaning along with surgical curettage or gum strengthening procedure. Use pepsodent tooth paste & gum paint for 2 to 3 weeks. Advance procedures can be done with laser. You may consult me in person.

Visit a dentist every six months for cleaning and a thorough dental check-up. Limit sugary food to avoid tooth decay. Gargle your mouth thoroughly after every meal. Scrub gently to clean your tongue with a tongue cleaner. Floss all your teeth inter dentally & brush twice daily, morning & night, up & down short vertical strokes, with ultra-soft bristles, indicator brush. Tooth brush to be changed every 2 months. You can use Pepsodent tooth paste.

Family Dentist Discusses Foods That Promote Good Oral Health

BDS, Diploma in Hospital Administration, Diploma in Pharmacy
Dentist, Delhi
According to dental professionals, the more sugary, starchy foods we consume, the more they feed the plaque-causing bacteria that are present in all of our mouths. This plaque can then harden into tartar, which is the leading cause of tooth decay and gum disease. To prevent plaque and tartar buildup, regular brushing, flossing, and gargling (mouthwash) is imperative. Certain foods can also help improve oral health. Here are a few favorites from your family dentist.

Cheese

Naturally low in sugar and high in calcium, cheese helps strengthen our teeth. It also contains a protein called casein, which may help lower the risk of cavities. More than that, there is compelling evidence that cheese preserves the whiteness of teeth by fortifying the enamel that protects the pearly-white dentin behind it.

Sugar-free gum

When we are not brushing, flossing, or gargling, saliva helps keep our mouths clean. It removes food particles, plaque, and other debris. Chewing gum, as long as it doesn't have sugar in it, stimulates saliva production and helps remove potentially harmful deposits. It is no wonder that the average family dentist recommends chewing sugar-free gum in between meals.

Celery

Once again, chewing anything helps increase the saliva in our mouths, but the foods we choose to chew should not contain sugar, and they should take a long time to chew. Celery meets these requirements. It is also quite fibrous, which means it breaks down into strands that naturally clean our teeth as we chew. We should also mention that celery is one of the few foods that has a negative-calorie effect. In other words, you burn more calories chewing and swallowing it than it contains.

Raw onion

Even if you have a clean mouth, it likely contains hundreds of millions of bacteria at any given time. While not all of them are bad, some attack tooth enamel and cause serious oral issues. Numerous studies have confirmed that raw onions have powerful antibacterial properties. Sure, they may give you bad breath. But a few raw onions on a sandwich or in a salad will also help you control marauding oral bacteria, which may mean fewer trips to your family dentist.

Steak

We're sorry vegetarians, but eating meat does have its benefits. As we mentioned, longer chewing times promote salivation that helps clean our teeth. And few things require more mastication than a big, juicy steak. In fact, chewing steak requires so much effort that it can actually strengthen our jaw muscles and our pearly whites. We should also mention that red meat contains phosphorous, which helps protect tooth enamel and bone.

Cashews

Just like raw onions, cashews contain antimicrobial oils that have been shown to reduce the bad bacteria that leads to tooth decay. Testing has also revealed that the same nut oils may fight the bacteria that causes acne breakouts, making them one of the few family dentist and dermatologist-approved foods.

How we can make our tooth white and remove green in the tooth ?

MDS - Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery
Dentist,
How we can make our tooth white and remove green in the tooth ?
Cause of discoloration ? Smoking, coffee, tea, drugs, aging, staining food (wine, blueberry, etc) genetics. Kindly consult a dentist in person for further suggestion. We need more investigations to decide upon treatment. You may need deep cleaning along with gum strengthening , whitening (bleaching) procedures and / or artificial enamel filling and / or capping. Advance procedures can be done with laser. Use Snowdent tooth paste for whitening until then. Apply SNOWDENT paste on the teeth. Wait for 10 to 15 min .Then brush your teeth with the same paste. Applying it overnight for better results. DENTAL TIPS: - Visit a dentist every six months for cleaning and a thorough dental check-up. Limit sugary food to avoid tooth decay. Gargle your mouth thoroughly after every meal. Scrub gently to clean your tongue with a tongue cleaner. I have pain in my. Inner mouth since 2 days. What should I do?

MDS - Prosthodontist and Implantologist, Root canal certificate, BDS
Dentist,
I have pain in my. Inner mouth since 2 days. What should I do?
Hi , please specify if it is tooth pain or not. Tooth pain mostly indicates decay in your tooth. You should immediately see a dentist for a permanent solution. If the decay has reached the dental pulp then a root canal treatment would be necessary. Clinical evaluation by a dentist is a must before the diagnosis is made.
