I am 24 years female. I have projection from anus from the age of 17, blood in stool, acidity, burning. While passing stool.

M.S, MBBS
General Surgeon, Bangalore
Symptoms of your problem suggests a fissure-in-Ano, and would probably be Chronic, since you would possibly have a skin tag too. Ideally - dietary modification to be tried first if not already done. I see that you are from kerala. 1. Cut down on meat and processed wheat especially parotta. 2. Increase consumption of green leafy vegetable. 3. Have plenty of water- minimum 2lts. 4. Do not strain or force while passing stools. 5. Immediately after passing stool, take sitz bath (luke warm water with a table spoon of common salt in a basin, and sit for 5 min.) do it for 2 weeks minimum, usually the ulcer starts healing, if no response, then see a surgeon, for clinical evaluation and further medication. In all probability it can be treated with medicines and ointments.

You possibly have a urinary tract infection which could be on account of the stone. Need to treat the UTI based on your urine test results. Stone management would depend on multiple factors such as size and evidence of any obstruction.

I am a 20 years old male and have stone problem in kidney for last 3 months. What should I do?
Kidney stones are a very common health problem. They form from the chemicals in urine, such as uric acid, phosphorous, calcium and oxalic acid. Other common causes of kidney stones are excessive consumption of vitamin D, a mineral imbalance, dehydration, gout and an improper diet Irrespective of the size of the kidney stones, they can cause severe pain. Other symptoms include a desire to urinate frequently, painful urination, nausea, vomiting and excessive sweating. Pomegranate Both the seeds and juice of pomegranates have astringent properties that can help in the treatment of kidney stones. ? Try to eat one whole pomegranate or drink one glass of freshly squeezed pomegranate juice daily. You can mix pomegranate in a fruit salad also. Another option is to grind one tablespoon of pomegranate seeds into a fine paste. Eat this paste along with a cup of horse gram soup once daily. This remedy will help dissolve the stones. Being high in fiber, kidney beans can be effective in the treatment of any kind of kidney or bladder problem, including kidney stones. ? Remove the beans from inside the pods, then put the beans in hot water. Simmer the water on low flame for hours until the beans become soft and tender. Strain the liquid and allow it to cool. Strain the liquid again. Drink it several times throughout the day to relieve kidney stone pain. This liquid should not be kept for more than 24 hours, as it will lose its therapeutic properties. ? You can also eat kidney beans in soup or salad. To conclude, you can try any of these natural remedies for treating kidney stones Ayurvedic medicenes are neeri syrup and calcury syrup and vrikkadoshahara vati.

I have cuts in my anus and it pains very much when I pass stools. What do I do?

Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons (FRCS), MS - Urology, MBBS
Urologist,
Dear , that is called fissure and it is usually due to constipation with passage of hard faeces. Constipation is not considered to be a disease but a lifestyle problem. I have answered this question so many times in detail here but still I give you some useful suggestions 1. Increase fluid intake 2. Take high fiber and high residue diet. 3. Take emolient laxative like cremaffin plus or duphalac 1 tsf st night 4. Also take naturolax grannules or isabgol powder 3-4 tsf in 300 ml of water at night 5. Apply zincal ointment in side anus twice a day though it will be painful to start with 6take sitz's bath- sitting in atubful of hot water for 15 minutes 7. Be actyive and do some wlking, or exercises or play games 8. Avoid taking pain killers if possible 9 all these measures will have to continue for a long long time otherwise it is a recurrent problem.

My mother has urethra stricture Post radio therapy she is 65 years old. What treatments she can take?
If she has difficulty in passing urine leading to recurrent urinary tract infections the best treatment is intermittent self catheterisation using a sterile technique. I would advise you to see a urologist so that this can be explained further.

Uric acid builds up when the body makes too much of it or fails to excrete it. It is a waste product resulting from the metabolism of food. The level of uric acid in your blood can become elevated if your body produces too much or if it doesn't efficiently dispose of it. Symptoms of uric acid · Excruciating pain in the foot or big toe. · Difficulty walking. · Waking up from sleep due to foot pain. · Occasionally feeling pain in the knee and ankle. · Limited ability to move. · Persistent itching around the big toe joint. · Gritty accumulations of uric acid crystals called tophi that appear on the joints near the elbows, knees, fingers and toes. Hi it is very important to take appropriate drugs to control blood sugar and then also take restricted diet that gives exact calories based on ideal body weight, sugar levels and extent of daily exercise. To give a specific diet plan your present dietary pattern and extent of exercise daily are to be known, because diet for a diabetes patient is very individual specific. In the mean time avoid sweets, deep fried foods, junk foods, pastries, sweetened aerated drinks, high fat milk products, fructose corn syrup containing products, highly processed foods and alcohol. Consume more of green leafy vegetables, salads and permitted fruits about 100 g a day. Plus exercise daily for at least 1 hour.
