Hello I have hairfall problems and my hairs are very dry thin rough I have tried many shampoos conditioner. I have done spa also but its same please suggest me something and if I have to concentrate on my meal then please suggest me what should I and in my daily meal? I am pure vegetarian.

Hi. It's normal to loose up to 100 hair per day, and in most people, those hairs grow back. But many men -- and some women -- lose hair as they grow older. You can also lose your hair if you have certain diseases, such as thyroid problems, diabetes, or lupus. If you take certain medicines or have chemotherapy for cancer, you may also lose your hair. Other causes are stress, a low protein diet, a family history, use of bore water, or nutritional deficiencies. Need to rule out any causative factor or underlying medical condition. Management: Take diet rich in protein like non-veg., eggs (it's loaded with essential nutrients such as proteins, Vitamin B12, iron, zinc and Omega 6 fatty acids in large amounts and biotin) , different pulses & legumes, sprouts, nuts (sp. walnuts and almonds); iron-rich food like green vegetables, dates, carrots, prunes, green peas; also oats, shrimp, take flaxseeds, sunflower seeds, sesame seeds, green tea, soyabean, fruits, salads, etc. Take low-fat dairy products (they also contain whey and casein, two high-quality protein sources) Take proper 6-9hrs of sound sleep. Give up the habit of smoking and excessive alcohol intake. Avoid junk food and any kind of beverages (tea, coffee, aerated drinks, cold drinks, etc.) Avoid canned/ tinned food or food that contains preservatives (eat fresh ones). Avoid use of hard water to wash the head rather use boiled water for head wash. Avoid use of harsh hair colour, hair treatment like rebonding, straightening, perming, etc. Avoid vigorous exercises or any supplements provided by the gym! Cover your head with scarf or cap while stepping outside. Use Rose wood/ any wooden hair comb to brush your hair. Regular exercising is also one of the important point, but should be done under some good, qualified yoga teacher or instructor for proper guidance; it also releases the stress/ tension in the mind and the body and keeps you FIT and YOUNG!! Medication: Take homoeopathic Rx - Schwabe's Wiesbaden 200 & Alfalfa Tonic twice a day for 1 month and revert. Also, use Schwabe's Arnica shampoo and Hair Growth oil regularly as per the condition of your scalp (minimum 3 times a week). After shampooing, use Bakson's Arnica Hair conditioner as well after every head wash. Apart from this, take Follihair tablets (multivitamin) - 1 tab. daily once for 1 month. Investigations advised: Get your blood tested for (empty stomach) - CBC, S. Iron, S. Folic acid, S. Ferritin, S. Calcium, S. Vitamin D3, S. Vitamin B12. If there is any family history of Thyroid dysfunction, get Thyroid function test done as well.

I am suffering from knee pain in my left leg. When I sit and get up from chair I get severe pain. I am unable to do exercise because of this. Please Advice me what to do.

Towel Hamstring Stretch Lie on the back, supporting the thigh with the hand or with a towel wrapped around it.. Slowly straighten the knee until a stretch is felt in the back of the thigh, trying to get the bottom of the foot to face the ceiling, one leg at a time. Hold the position initially for 10 seconds, and gradually work up to 20 to 30 seconds. Seated Hamstring Stretch While sitting at the edge of a chair, straighten one leg in front of the body with the heel on the floor. Then, sit up straight and try pushing the navel towards the thigh without leaning the trunk of the body forwards. Hold this stretch for 30 seconds Repeat 3 times for each leg.

Body is not build by eating more proteins. Body is built by exercises and when the intensity of exercise goes past a certain level, then the proteins will support the expansion of the muscles. Please consult a proper coach or look up on the internet for muscle development. Also muscles take many years to build. You have to be patient. Avoid supplements as they are not tested/certified by any labs. Our body can absorb natural products much better than artificial. Focus on building strength and not bulky muscles.

Recently I mistakenly drank molded water (didn't notice those white substance before drinking). Its been three days that I am having stomach ache, feeling like vomiting and loose motion (not frequent). Whenever I have any meal my stomach starts to hurt and I feel like vomiting. What should I do?

Dear lybrate-user. What you describe look like urinary tract infection. It could also be other more serous types of infections. Best idea is to show to a doctor in person for clinical examination and at least get a urine test done to see if there is infection. Your doctor might advise a ultra sonography of the abdomen also. Washing hands regularly is the single most important hygiene step in fighting the spread of bacteria, viruses and other germs.

Handwashing involves five essential steps: Wet, Lather, Scrub, Rinse and Dry.

Wet your hands with clean, running water and apply soap.
Lather your hands by rubbing them together with the soap.
Be sure to lather the backs of your hands, between your fingers, and under your nails.
Scrub your hands for at least 20 seconds.
Rinse your hands well under clean, running water.
Dry your hands using a clean towel or air dry them.
Do not touch bathroom surfaces or door knobs once you dry your hands

Here are the common mistakes you make while washing hands.

Not washing long enough

Wash for at least a full 15 to 20 seconds. Not washing long enough makes the whole process ineffective as the germs are still left on the skin.

Missing the important sites

By just rubbing the soap between your palms and washing it off does not mean that you practice hand hygiene. Germs tend to hide under fingernails and in the pockets between fingers, so you should scrub these areas vigorously every time you wash your hands.

Not using soap

Washing your hands with just water is not enough. Since the surfaces of bacteria and viruses are made partly of fatty materials, ingredients in soap create a chemical reaction that grabs onto the germs so they rinse right off with the lather.

Not washing frequently

It’s important to wash your hands not only after using the restroom, but after handling garbage, before you eat and even after you’ve touched surfaces in public areas that may contain flu and cold germs, such as stores, gyms and public transportation.

Not drying thoroughly

Even the best handwashing techniques are worthless if you skip drying. Germs love to breed in moisture. Leaving the bathroom with still-damp hands can make it easier to pick up germy microbes from the next surface you touch

Not following the “No touch technique”

Many viruses live in closed spaces, like faucets, counters and other restroom surfaces. After you have washed use your elbow or a clean towel to turn off the tap and open the door in public restrooms. It’s a good idea to do this at home too

How to use a Hand sanitizer:

Alcohol-based hand sanitizers do not require water and are an alternative when soap and water are not available. The product should contain at least 60 percent alcohol.

Apply enough of the product to the palm of your hand to wet your hands completely.
Rub your hands together, covering all surfaces, until your hands are dry.

Mr. lybrate-user, If a person has confirmed diabetes (T2), then it is essential to take appropriate drug treatment, either oral or Insulin depending upon severity of the condition. Secondly along with drugs regular exercise for 1 hour a day (brisk walking) is a must. Maintenance of near normal weight is also necessary. Plus patient has to take a restricted diet that provides exact calories based on ideal body weight, extent of exercise and glucose levels. Any exercise is fine. Thanks.

Lmp was 24.2. 16 but after taking a heavy dose of hormonal medicine that is also used to make heavy periods lighter. You will get a delayed cycle for sure if pregnancy test is negative now, but do not take more hormones to stimulate the cycle, as it is a routine practice to do so, do not take any tensions / stress -another common factor for delay in cycle. By the way feb had 29 days!

Do let me know if you also have blackheads with pimples? and what current medications and remedies you already tried to treat acne? acne is a common problem in teen. Almost everybody will get pimples during their teen years. First, don't try to self treat acne. Some popular nonprescription acne lotions, cleansers and other skin products can cause a serious reaction (rare), mostly it is normal to have acne in teenage. For pimples it's important to wash your face twice daily to remove impurities, dead skin cells, and extra oil from your skin's surface, avoid touching your face or propping your cheek or chin on your hands. Not only can you spread bacteria, you can also irritate the already inflamed facial skin. Never pick or pop pimples with your fingers, as it can lead to infection and scarring. A dietary therapy with the right medications for pimples can also help a lot. Kojic acid (a natural skin lightener derived from mushroom extract), arbutin (also called bearberry extract), and vitamin c (ascorbic acid) are great alternative ingredients to lighten scars left by acne. Don't use vitamin e or any self prescribed preparations on scars or pimples. Increasing the intake of omega-3 fatty acids through a diet significantly rich in fish and seafood results in lower rates of an inflammatory disease like acne. A low-glycemic-index diet also reduces acne risk. I being a both a registered dietitian (rd) and doctor have been successfully helping patients with their problems through a holistic approach using customized therapeutic diet and medications. Hello lybrate-user Fracture 10th rib: We need to discuss whether it is displaced or non-displaced fracture. Secondly, fracture of rib takes at least 1 month to heal and also pain persists for one to one-and-half month. You can sleep straight with soft pillow on your left chest to support fractured area. Also you can take right lateral position while sleeping. While bike riding, you need to wear RIB BELT to immobilize the area, otherwise bike riding will increase the pain. How to improve skin tone without using cosmetics and only by using natural ingredients.

Use following remedy for skin at home:- 1. Baking Soda Baking soda or sodium bicarbonate works as a gentle exfoliant for your skin. Thus, it unplugs the pores and removes dead skin. It also helps regulate the pH balance of the skin and has mild anti-inflammatory and antiseptic properties. All these characteristics make it an excellent home remedy for clearing acne. •Apply a paste of one or two teaspoons of baking soda and a little water. Rinse it off after a few minutes. •You can also mix together two tablespoons baking soda, one teaspoon cinnamon powder, the juice of half a lemon, and five tablespoons honey. Apply it on your face and wash after five minutes. Use baking soda on your skin once or twice a week. 2. Oatmeal Oatmeal is beneficial in reducing acne because it cleanses your skin pores and absorbs excess oil. Plus, it exfoliates your skin. 1.Mix one teaspoon of honey and the juice of half a lemon in a cup of cooked oatmeal. 2.Rub this mixture over your skin. 3.Leave it on for 30 minutes and then rinse with lukewarm water. 4.Do this once or twice a week. 3. Fuller’s Earth Fuller’s earth also known as multani mitti is good for greasy and acne-prone skin as it absorbs excess oil (without over-drying your skin) and unclogs the pores. It helps improve your complexion too. You can find it at Indian grocery stores. 1.Mix equal proportions of Fuller’s earth (multani mitti), rose water, and sandalwood powder. You can add more rose water to get a better consistency of the paste. 2.Apply this mud pack to your face. 3.Wash after it dries up. 4.Repeat the process once a week. 4. Lemon Juice The acidic property of lemons can be very useful in treating acne. Lemon will clean out dirt that has accumulated in the pores and will harden the sebum. You can use it on your skin daily but if it is too drying then use it every two or three days. •Rub a slice of lemon on the affected area and leave it for a few hours before rinsing your face with water. •You can also mix lemon juice with rose water in equal amounts and use the solution to wash the affected area thoroughly.
