I am 20 weeks pregnant, nowadays due to some family issues I am taking so much stress and I am crying to much. My husband don't understand my feelings. I am in problem. I love him so much. But at this stage when I need him most he is saying that go and live at your home. I can't live without him. Sometimes I overreact on some things. But in a minute or two I apologize but he never forgive me. He stretched every issue so big. From last two days we're not talking to each other. I am dying at every moment. I don't want to harm my baby. Please help me what should I do.

There are two views causing your problem. One is, of course, generally pregnant women expect more love&affection and personal support from their husband. You are saying that only in recent days you have been experiencing so much stress. It means that you had been living well in recent past. The problem, in my view is, your expectation has become more than ever before, and your husband's offering is normal/usual. This imbalance may cause friction between you. The other view is, during pregnancy there occur a lot of biochemical changes in the body which affect our normal physiological as well as psychological functioning which include mood swings, generalized anxiety about the labor/delivery (fear or over expectation of the outcome). These conditions may cause you behave so or exaggerate your stress levels. I hope, by changing your behavior, i. E. Understanding and reducing your expectations to a level tolerable by your husband, will work well. Above all, the birth of your baby may change the entire situation upside down. Let's hope for the best.

You must stop smonking as soon as possible This is very good step you have taken for your self by deciding you want to quit smoking I am giving you some health tips that will certainly help you to quit smoking 1. As you have decided to quit smoking this is first and most important step now we have to concentrate on gradual decreasing number of cigarettes/bides and I am giving you some changes to your lifestyle you can make that may help you resist the temptation . And these changes are very easy to do 2. Change in Diet: some foods, including meat, enhance craving for cigarettes. And food like fruit and vegetables, cheese, Milk, dahi, and other home made vegetarian food with low salt and spices make cigarettes taste terrible. So little change in diet can give very good result Drinks, alcohol, cola, tea and coffee also enhance craving for cigarettes. So drink more water and juice. Also you can switch from wine to a vodka and tomato juice), These affects their need to reach for a cigarette. 3. Physical exercise : Even a five-minute walk or stretch) cuts cravings and help brain to produce anti-craving chemicals. 4. Make a non smoking friends: this is one of the most important step 5. There are Nicotine replacement therapy available in form of patches, tablets, lozenges, gum and a nasal spray. This therapy also help to quit smoking and neutralizing craving episode 6. Education about adverse effect also encourage us to quit smoking like it causes heart attacks, mouth cancer, lung cancer so better to quit as soon as possible 7. You can taper of numbers of cigarette/ Bides gradually like if you take 10 cigarettes per day reduce it to 8-9 in a day for 3-4 days than 7-8 in next 3-4 days gradually you can decrease no up to 1-2 cigarettes per day and finally quit it completely 8. My brother is suffering from schizophrenia, he is taking heloperidol which rarely available in chemist shop, so would you please tell a substitute medicine for heloperidol ?

Dear, heloperidol is commonly used anti-psychotic medication. I don't know from where you got the prescription of this drug. You have to consult the psychiatrist who prescribed this medicine if you want to change it. That is healthy practice. As anti-psychotic drugs are scheduled, you may not get it with chemist unless you produce a written and signed prescription. Consult a psychiatrist. Take care.

I can not remember what I have read just few minutes ago. And I do not remember the things I read.

Reparenting Technique, BA, BEd
Psychologist, Bangalore
Follow these guidelines to make good with your memory: Daily exercise of at least half an hour is a must. Even if you go to a gym, ask for aerobic and/or callisthenic exercises with whatever else you are doing. A healthy body harbors a healthy mind. With regard to memory, it is very important that your brain and body is ideally rested to be able to recall whatever is required, rather comfortably. Puzzles pose problems to the brain that help it to use new pathways and neurons, which give the brain considerable exercise. It taxes the left brain to use logic to solve the myriad possibilities which other activities do not stimulate. Crosswords are excellent for vocabulary learning and use. Jigsaws and Rubik cube stimulate different permutations to finally settle on the most likely one. Picture completion and anagrams help approach problem-solving from several angles. Do Sudoku, and memory co-relation activities and skills. Have a good night’s sleep, have a good breakfast of more proteins, meditate often, remain free of stress, eat a lot of fiber (whole grains, fruits and vegetables), nuts, avocado, eat dark chocolate, consume less of fat and use olive oil instead, do Yoga meditation exercises, etc. You need to check out if you are stronger visual or auditory. The visual is a better mode than the auditory. However, if you combine the two modes, you will get the best concentration. Have a special place of learning, which should be well lit, with soft painted walls, well-ventilated, with no distractions. When you get bored, study by writing. If you repeat learning, at least, five to seven times, you will apparently remember for a longer time. Sit comfortably but do not slouch. The reading material should be of a fairly large print. Study at small intervals of about 40 minutes and then take a break or change the subject. Short-term memory is a faculty of the left brain, and long-term memory is a feature of the right brain. When people are stressed, they tend to favor the right brain and abandon the left brain, where short-term memory resides. So, it is really very simple: deal with the stress and activate left brain functions. Here are a few suggestions to activate left brain function: shut your left nostril and breathe, move your eyes from right to left and vice versa for at least half a minute at a time, and do callisthenic exercises with some form of counting, regularly. There is a new exercise called Super Brain Yoga, which is done by holding the right earlobe with your left thumb and index finger, and the left earlobe with your right hand’s thumb and index finger. In this position, you must squat down and rise up and do this for five minutes every day. There is some memory enhancing techniques and study methods that your teacher will be able to guide you with. If your home life is full of distractions and stress, it is likely to affect your memory, adversely. In that case, I suggest that the family goes for counseling too. The following foods do help too: Blueberries, walnuts, turmeric, Spinach, tomatoes, broccoli, acorn squash, green tea, oily fish, boiled egg, turkey, apples, oatmeal, leafy greens, lentils, pumpkin seeds, avocado, cinnamon, thyme, sunflower seeds, and red wine. Avoid sugar and junk food.

Dear lybrate-user. Welcome to lybrate. I can understand. Loosing someone near and dear is called grief and depression related to grief is pretty normal. But this sort of depression does not stay for long. This depression gets cleared within a span of some weeks. The best option for you is to undergo counseling and depression related therapy.
