Good morning. My right wrist had a slightly twisted, was not a actual fracture. Had a plaster for 3 weeks however it did not get cured completely. It is not painful unless I twist it forward and backward. Please advise should I go n have a regular meals to fix this. Or should I consult doctor again.

Go to sm good physiotherapy clinic. They will suggest you a better treatment protocol. There, you will get to know some exs and therapeutic machines which will help you to regain your hand movements and pain relief.

I am 40 years old male. Five months back I had fallen from my activa vehicle and got hurt on my shoulder. The pain has not come down and I am finding it difficult to use my right hand to carry out my daily work. I have taken an x-ray which shows its normal. What should I do?

Give pressure the dipping point on the portion between the thumb and the index finger on the back of the palm. Press and release for 15 times where the pain is more. This will solve the problem. Further do some wrist rotation exercise. Massage with your thumbs from the midpoints of your shoulder blade towards back of your head upto the lower edge of the ear on your either side. Use oil or water. Move only upwards only. Afterwards do arm rotation forward and backward slowdown report after 5 days.

Hi, got your pain your into, thanks for expecting progressive health from ayurveda, u can great health n fitness with ayurveda n therapies, muscle strengthening exercise by expert physiotherapist, cervical spond. Is vat vyadhi it demands mridu sanshodhan(mild detox) n brihan nasya n shiro-pichu, bala/kshirbala/almond tailam uttarbhaucktik pan means having these caps after food or at night. Sure this all should be under medical supervision. These all procedures will also avail benefit to your existing dm, thyroid, bp too.

I am having serious neck pain from past 1 year. When I try to bend my head for reading or writing for long time then the pain increases sometimes when I touch my back part of the neck I feel there is a swelling also. So what should I do reduce this pain?

Ayurveda's panchkarma therapy - we have many option for you - greeva basti (specialized procedure for neck pains), localised massgae with herbal oils, localised medicated steam, pottali massage. Continue these procedures for atleast 15 days. Regular oiling of the joint will improve the lubrication also. These procedures will relax your neck muscles and give strength to your nerves and muscles of neck. Also start some yogic exercises - tadasana, dhanurasan, halasana along with these therapies. Hello, Is there any history of injury or hurt to the area? Any underlying medical condition? Medication: Meantime, take homoeopathic medicines - Arnica 200 and Rhus Tox. 200 - take both of them thrice daily for 1 week. Also, apply Schwabe's Topi-Arnica and Topi MP Gel on the affected area in circular motions gently thrice a day. And wrap crepe bandage over it. Get back to me thereafter.

Exercises for Spasm and Back Pain

A pain in the back can make even small, daily activities like bathing, getting dressed or even bending down to pick up things difficult. A quick and thorough treatment of such problems can prevent the problem from worsening. In such cases, there is an obvious need to exercise the lower back muscles. However, before performing these exercises, a lot of preparation is required to get your back into shape. Taking enough time to warm up and stretch the muscles can make a significant difference between helping and making the problem worse.

Why should you exercise your lower back? 
The main reason for exercising the lower back region is to make it move gently through all types of motion so that it can have a greater range of movement during daily activities. Core strengthening exercises and stretches are recommended to prevent back pain. While doing these exercises, try avoiding activities that cause pain or discomfort. Pain is a sign of problem and one must be careful to avoid it during these exercises as it shows that you are hurting yourself in some way or the other. 

Activities to be followed:
The following activities can help in increasing the flow of blood to the sore areas of your back and prepare for more activity, thus reducing the chance of aggravation.

  1. Soak in a tub of water: Fill a tub with water to a level that you will tend to float and thus reduce the force of gravity on your spine and muscles. Epsom salt can be added to relax the muscles. Do not to sit up too high in as it can cause stress to the low back discs. Slide down low enough so that the back is allowed to flatten a small amount, thus reducing disc and muscle stress.
  2. Use local heat to reduce muscle spasms: Soak a large towel with hot water and wring it out. Place it on the low back where your pain is located. You can also place a damp towel in the microwave oven long enough so as to heat the towel. Be careful not to overheat the towel. Place the warm cloth on the area of your pain for about ten minutes.
  3. Hip slides: Lie on your back. First move one hip and then the other towards your shoulders. Raise your right hip towards the right shoulder and then the left hip towards the left shoulder. Raise one of your hips and then the other up off the floor so that your back twists a little. Raise the right hip off from the floor and then do the same with your left hip.
  4. Windmill: This is a general back exercise. Create big circles with your arms by rotating them in clockwise and anticlockwise circles.

These activities are an excellent way to reduce back spasms and the stress on your back.

Hi lybrate-user. You need to have exercise atleast 30 mins for 5 days in a week. Otherwise your body ll have no exercise and you gain weight gradually leading to many problems. Take small breaks in between working times and have a walk. Sit in proper posture den you ll not have problem with your back. Do body stretching even while you sit.

Hi Apply pranacharya restopain oil or prasarini oil on your affected part then give hot fomentation. Take maha rasnadi kwath 2-2 tsf twice a day. And agni tundi vati and maha yograj guggul 1-1 tab twice a day.

Hello! diabetes n its symptoms can be well managed by a good diet chart. Take small meals in every 3-4 hr. Regular interval. Avoid sweet n sugar also honey n jaggery, fried foods, ready to eat foods, preserved foods n simple carb like maida. Take whole grain cereals in limitation, lot of veggies, 150-200gm fruit (not juice. Don't skip breakfast n take a small portion of milk or product or any whole grain cereal before bed time. Do 30 min of exercise a day.

Advice. Avoid sitting cross legged. Avoid squatting- quadriceps exercises- lie straight, make a towel role and put it under the knee, press the keen against the role, hold it for 20 secs. Repeat 20 times twice a day. This will help relieve some pain. Core strengthening exercise- straight leg raised with toes turned outward, repeat 10 times, twice a day. Hams stretching- lie straight, take the leg up, pull the feet towards yourself, with a elastic tube or normal belt. Repeat 10 times, twice a day. Sports taping- stretch the tape from both ends and apply on the affected area contrast fomentation (hot and cold). Back pain 1. Apply hot fomentation twice daily. Avoid bending in front. Postural correction- sit tall, walk tall. Extension exercises x 15 times x twice daily - lying on tummy, take left arm up for 3 seconds, then bring it down, right arm up for 3 seconds, bring down. Bring right leg up, hold for 3 seconds, bring it down. Then right leg up and hold for 3 seconds and bring it down. Repeat twice a day- 10 times. Bhujang asana? lie flat on your stomach, keeping the palms out, bend the neck backward, take a deep breath and while holding it for 6 seconds, raise the chest up. Release breath and relax your body. Repeat the exercise 15 times twice daily. Core strengthening exercises- straight leg raised with toes turned outward, repeat 10 times, twice a day.

Hello Lybrate user, Calcaneum spur can be treated symptomatically via physiotherapy, You can take pulsed ultrasound for it and do contrast bath i.e.dip your ankle in cold water for 7 mins and then in lukewarm water for 7 mins twice in a day.

One of my friend he is suffering due to dislocation of l5/s1 disc. The residual ap canal diameter at this level measures 6.7 mm only. Few of the doctors suggested him to do surgery but few of them not recommending surgery because he is just 27 years old. Now he is taking Ayurveda medicine. Surgery should be avoided on vertebral column and spinal cord. It's better to get full panchakarma at good ayurveda hospital near you. Yoga postures, deep breathing will also help. Ayurvedic medicine once suit you, will be immensely beneficial.
