Doctor, I am having osteoarthritis, and I am having severe pain in my knee, my local Dr. Has prescribed me some medicines, but still I am suffering from severe pain, please can you suggest me something for relief, as I am already having ultracet tab, as a pain killer, & dynapar plus (spray) further I don't want to consume any painkillers, any other way to get rid of pain?
Hi thanks for your query and welcome to lybrate. I am Dr. Akshay from fortis hospital, new delhi. I actually need to see what grade of arthritis is it, because in advanced stages, no medicine will work and it is not advisable to take pain killers for a long time even though tab ultracet is quite safe in this aspect. Please send me x ray knee (ap-standing & lateral views) so that I can see and then advise you on this. Do not hesitate to contact me if you need any further assistance.
I met with an accident when I was in 10th grade (late 2009, early 2010) during which I had a complete fracture on my left tibial bone. I underwent surgery at manipal hospital which went successfully. However, after the surgery I experienced problems with my left toe such that I couldn't lift it up and down by my own free will and when I asked the doctor he said it was up to me and how much effort I put in through physiotherapy. No matter what I tried there was no difference made and when I asked other doctors they said its nothing to worry about and won't cause me any problems in the future. I am a footballer and over the years I have bared this condition thinking nothing can be done but with my own research I found out that its called Checkrein Deformity and it is fixable. But what I'm not sure about is whether after all these years is it worth fixing and will it help me have a better quality life also If there are noninvasive methods. Please advice Doctors, Thank you, Nitin.
You can try by getting it fixed. But I fell you should ask your surgeon to discuss a plan the pros and cons of the surgery and what you will get finally. If the pros outweigh cons, then go for surgery. Else think of carrying on with the deformity. Correction would involve, making way for the tendon to move. Also as it has been 7 years already, I am not sure if you will be benefited in the long run.

Shoulder / Hand PainYou shoulder will become stiff and the movements would be diminished. For the right hand pain it might be due to carpal tunnel syndrome, where the pain will be felt in the wrist. You can do hot water fermentation/ wax therapy for shoulder and for the wrist pain (hand pain) you can do ice therapy which will reduce the pain.
I feel joints pain from 2 days mostly at fingers, feet & toes. Its very lite pain & mostly feel at night not all time?

Sir I am suffering from back pain. Please suggest me some exercises or simple methods to reduce pain.
Sleep on a hard bed with soft bedding on it. Spring beds, folding beds or thick matress are harmful use no pillow under the head. Do hot fomantation. Paracetamol 250mg od & sos x 5days. Caldikind plus 1tab od x10. Do neck, back knee & general exercises. It may have to be further investigated. Make sure you are not allergic to any of the medicines you are going to take. For emergency treatment contacts your nearest hospital or family doctor. If it does not give relief in 4-5days, contact me again. Do not ignore. It could be beginning of a serious problem.
