Dry mouth can be very difficult to handle at times and it can lead to very nagging problems all through. As per the history it seems she has a tendency towards hyperglycemia already. Taking utmost care is mandatory for such patients. Regarding dry mouth It may be suggested to visit a dentist evry 6 months, keep the oral hygiene proper always. Although the dentist should clinically examine and suggest the needful but as of now you can use Dry Mouth Gel by GC to get away with the discomfort as of now. Hope this serves the purpose as of now but visit a dentist ASAP. Thanks. :-)

Stroke
If you’ve had a stroke in the past, tell your dentist if you are taking anticoagulants (blood-thinning drugs). These medications could result in excessive bleeding during some oral surgery procedures.

If your stroke has impaired your ability to produce an adequate amount of saliva, your dentist may recommend the use of artificial saliva. If your stroke has affected your face, tongue, or dominant hand and arm, your dentist may also recommend use of fluoride gels, modified brushing or flossing techniques, and strategies others can use to assist you in maintaining good oral hygiene.

Frequent snacking and consumption of carbonated drinks is not leading to obesity alone. A survey conducted by Maulana Azad Institute of Dental Sciences (MAIDS), which is running mobile dental clinics in northeast district under the National Health Mission since May, has revealed significantly high percentage of oral health problems in people.

While tooth decay and gum problems are most common, affecting nearly 54% and 62% of the population screened, dentists said they also detected oral precancerous lesions and cancer in some people.

"Tooth decay is most common in the age group of 15-35 years. We found most such patients indulged in frequent snacking. Consumption of carbonated drinks was also common," said Dr Vikrant Mohanty, medical officer in-charge of mobile dental clinics. MAIDS runs six mobile clinics offering treatment such as extraction, filling and cleaning and creating awareness about oral health. Mohanty said every time one eats, acid is produced by the bacteria on the surface of the tooth. "Frequent snacking, particularly fast food items, that have sugar content, leads to loss of minerals from the tooth due to higher acid production."
