yes that is absolutely true as sugar is a source of empty calories. replace sweets with fruits like dates, banana, mango, jackfruit, pomegranate, watermelon, grapes, etc. you may try desserts prepared with fruits ex: dates-nuts laddoo, dates payasam, orange srikhand

Include nutrient & calorie dense foods low in volume like paneer paratha with chutney, dates almonds milkshake, peanut chikki, til ladoo, cow's milk with skim milk powder, premix with soup, egg curry + rice with ghee, cheese-potato sandwich, wheat malt with milk & sugar, fresh fruit juice, sugarcane juice. 4. Drink 3 litres water daily (but not with or just before a meal) 5. Take 15 mins light walk prior to main meals to enhance appetite 6. Have regular sound sleep 7. Get a thyroid function test done.

As per your height & weight your bmi is within normal range. For increasing muscle mass & weight gain, 1. Have foods high in nutrient, protein & calorie density at 2-3 hrs interval. Include premix, malt, paneer, cheese, til, groundnuts, banana, dates, milkshake, dry fruits, tofu, egg, fatty fish, chicken, rice with ghee, cow milk with skim milk powder. 3 drink 3 litres water daily 4. Oractice strength exercises 5. Avoid skipping meals & junk food.

Medicines alter our metabolism & hormonal balance. So best avoided. Tios for appetite enhancement: 1. 15: mins light walk prior main meals 2. Water intake to be avoided with meal or just before a meal 3. Small frequent meals at 2-3 hrs interval instead of 2-3 meals only 4. Include souo befoe lunch & dinner. 5. Sleep should be sound & complete 6. Yoga & meditation for reducing stress.

Pre dinner dose of insulin will depend on carb content of dinner. Insulin can be injected in 4 areas: abdomen, thigh, arm, buttock.

No cows milk is nutritionally adequate & suitable for human consumption. It strengthens the bones. But along side vitamin d should also be adequate through sunlight exposure, consumption of fatty fish, whole egg, mushrooms.

Kindly refer a general physician for your symptoms who can then refer to a specialist if needed. Try to have 2-3 litres water daily to avoid dehydration which gives similar symptoms. Avoid skipping meals. Eat small meals at 2-3 hr interval. Include groundnuts, oilseeds- ex til chikki/ladoo, whole legumes-nutrella/rajma/soyabean/chola/chana, whole grains- ex bajra/ragi/wheat malt with milk & sugar, cheese, paneer, fresh fruit juice, banana, dates, dry fruits, milkshake, egg, fatty fish, chicken in your daily diet.

1. Exercise daily for 1/2 hr 2. Drink 3 litres water daily 3. Have small frequent meals at 2-3 hr interval instead of 3-4 large meals. In between balanced main meals (comprising of whole grains, whole legumes/fish/chicken/egg, fruits, vegetables, low fat dairy product), have healthy snacks- coconut water w/o cream, nuts, oilseeds, boiled egg, roasted chana, roasted makhana, muri with veggies, roasted chirwa, whole fruit with green tea. 4. Eat slowly chewing your food well 5. Avoid junk, processed, refined, sugary foods & drinks, alcohol. 6. Be active- take stairs instead of lift, walk instead of taking transport 7. Avoid skipping meals 8. Sleep & wake up early. 9. Have light & early dinner. 10. Find out the trigger for your headaches. Try chewing ajwain post main meals.

I've been diagnosed with mild bulky ovaries and grade 1 fatty liver. I guess it means pcod. Im on medication and trying to loose weight. However there is constant dull pain on the left side of my stomach which is really discomforting. Please suggest something to diagnose this pain, it subsides with painkillers. PCOD & fatty liver management requires weight loss. Apart from medications, diet, lifestyle, daily exercise & weight loss are very helpful in relieving symptoms & sometimes curing it. Here are some tips for weight loss. 1. Have small frequent meals at 2-3 hrs interval instead of 3-4 large meals only. In between balanced main meals-(comprising of a whole grain, whole legume/egg/fish/chicken, low fat dairy, whole fruits, vegetables, salad); include healthy snacks in between- coconut water (w/o cream), whole fruit, roasted makhana, roasted chana (unsalted), nuts & oilseeds, soup, stew, buttermilk, salted lassi, green tea, boiled egg. 2. Drink 2- 3 litres water daily 3. Avoid junk, fried, processed, preserved, sugary foods & drinks, alcohol. 4. Replace simple carbs (sugar, jaggery, honey, maida, sago, cornflour, arrowroot flour, potato, biscuit, cake, white rice, white bread) with complex carbs (whole fruits, vegetables, salads, whole grains-atta, dalia, suji, oats, millets, barley, brown rice, atta bread, quinoa, whole legumes-sprouts, soyabean, pseudo cereals-rajgira, makhana, & nuts, oilseeds). 5. Avoid skipping meals 6. Have early & light dinner. 7. Sleep & wake up early. Have a sound sleep. Avoid use of mobile, laptop etc at bedtime 8. Brisk walk daily for 1 hr. In morning. 9. Walk/ cycle instead of taking transport, take stairs instead of lift/ escalator. 10. Cut down on total oil consumption. Have stewed & boiled foods mostly till fatty liver problem is solved. 11. Take 15 mins light walk post main meals. 12. Avoid sitting for an hr at a stretch continuously 13. Avoid sleeping in afternoon. Light nap of 20 mins is ok.
