I HAD A SLEEP PROBLEM FOR A FEW MONTHS.I took to self styled naturopathy it helped me much.Compulsory walking after dinner and a cup of luke warm glass of milk before sleeping.It served as a good medicine and sleep disorder vanished .Dr. Yogita your prescriptive answers are good and helpful thanks.

Its always good to use oil within the limit for one's body type. Also the type of oil to be chosen depends on whether you want to loose or gain weight. As per your body statistics I think you need to gain weight. If so, its better to use home made ghee or pure ghee for your food. Also the oil that you mentioned is ok. But avoid deep fried food in that oil. Double refined oil can be used in such cases.

You seem to have acute back pain, that could be due to unknown minor trauma to the disc, causing disc bulge. Or you could be having some renal issues (kidney stone maybe) in that case you should be taking rest for few days and avoid doing any heavy physical work, avoid forward bending, lifting heavy weights, drink lots of water, more than 3 litres a day .Get yourself checked by a GP. General physician.

Ideally to know whether a person is a diabetic or not blood sugar levels have to be checked after 12 hours of fasting (preferably in the morning) that is called as fasting sugar levels and after 2 hours of meal that is called as PP. If the sugar levels in these 2 tests are above normal then there are chances that a person is diabetic. Sugar levels checked anytime of the day are random and doesn't give the exact picture to diagnose a diabetic patient.

Joint pain can be due to lot many reasons, most common being the early degenerative changes in the joint causing arthritis. Symptoms can be pain, swelling in the joint, locking in the joint. If these symptoms are present then better to consult a doctor and take physiotherapy treatment to bring the pain down.in the long run exercises to strengthen the muscles around that joint need to be done for better management of pain and mobility. Also better would be to rest and keep the knee joint supported (in a brace etc) avoid climbing stairs up and down, avoid squatting on the ground and using indian toilets.

Hello! I am doing workout at GYM and Training each muscle everyday.[ Biceps, Chest, triceps, bench press, super set and legs too ]. 3 sets × 10 reps of all these everyday. Is training all the muscle everyday wrong for muscle growth? And also taking proper diet with accumass weight gainer everyday but not seeing much improvement. You should not be doing weight training for all the muscles everyday, cos after lifting weight, muscle breaks down and then protein helps to re build the muscle and each muscle group needs 48 hours to recover so you can divide your workout accordingly in such a way that there is a gap of 48 hours to workout the same muscle. You should do weight training in order to gain weight only 3 times a week and followed by protein shake after every workout session. Other than this a balanced healthy diet is very important which can be planned as per your body tye to get the maximum benefit. Contact shape and strength in kolkata if interested.

There is no short cut to weight gain. Infact gaining weight is more difficult in general as compared to weight loss but its not impossible if tried in a proper planned and scientific way. Firslty you shold have a proper balanced meals through out the day not only increasing the protein in the diet also start calming exercises like yoga, meditation 3 times a day along with strength training 2-3 times a week!

Well, olive oil is good for salad dressing, should not be used for deep frying. Sunflower,coconut and mustard oil have a good heat endurance and can be used for deep frying. So the choice of oil must be customised for the food you are looking at cooking. Nutiva (organic) coconut oil can be used for cooking.

There could be tightness of the calf muscles and ankle also...so exercise regularly..do .ankle toe movement up and down,sideways,circling clockwise and anti clockwise 20 times each,and also do stretching of the calf muscles.Aslo remember not to weat shoes that is too tight and flat.If it doesn't help then consult a doctor.

Your bmi is 16.38. Which shows you are underweight, to be called as ideal body weight bmi should be in between 19-25. So that can be attained only if you put on weight. So start eating healthy balanced diet. Also have heavy snack in between meals, can include fresh fruit shakes, dry fruit shakes in your diet, eat every 2-3 hrs. Also you can start with weight training exercises 2-3 times a week under supevision.

You can loose weight by choosing any form of exercise or sport which you like but above all you need to follow a healthy balanced diet that will help you to loose weight (kilograms) exercise gives you more of inch loss than weight loss! since you have to loose a lot of weight its very important to get a diet suitable for your body type. Start with power yoga and brisk walk atleast 4-5 times a week!

Well, weight loss will not happen only by exercising, diet plays a very important role in loosing weight as well as in changing body composition. To get the maximum benefit, diet should be customised as per persons need and body type. In general the best result can be achieved by doing exercises/brisk walk and diet to loose in inches as well as in kilogram. Simple tips like cut down all sugar, eat more fruits and veggies, have complex carbohydrate, avoid refined flour etc.

Your metabolism could be too high that can be one of the reasons for not gaining weight. Have more of healthy fats like nuts, dates, in the diet, also increase the amount of protein naturally in the diet. Take eggs, fish, lean chicken, milk, milk products, fruits shakes, sweetened lassi etc in between meals. Do weight training exercises.

Only medicines will not help to control it, you should make some changes in your lifestyle like eating meals on time, exercising regularly and eating less refined carbohydrate like maida, pasta, bread, noodles, white rice. Have food rich in fibre like whole grains (wheat, brown rice) nuts, fruits and vegetables (avoid potato, sweet potato, arbi, beetroot) etc.

Yes cheese cube is actually good if you are trying to increase weight, but there are other options also to increase protein in the diet like dry nuts like almonds, walnuts, cashew, pistachios, peanuts, soyanuts etc. You can also add curd, paneer, whole pulses, sprouts to your diet.

There is no shortcut for permanent reduction in weight, weight loss done in a proper way through diet and exercise will be slow but long lasting. So get a diet planned suitable for your body type and also start exercising. Avoid skipping meals, eating sweets, and cold drinks.

Exercise or walk will help only 20-30 % in loosing weight, it has to be combined with a balanced diet to get the maximum benefit. So avoid sweets, all forms of sugar, aerated drinks, fruit juices, refined flour, have more of fibre rich food like fruits, vegetables, whole grains, nuts etc and drink plenty of water to flush out toxins!

If there is tingling and numbness in legs, then some nerve compression can be there, proper evaluation will help to know what the problem is, you can take physiotherapy treatment to get relief from back pain and also learn few therapeutic exercises to keep your back muscles strong. Proper precautions like avoiding forward bending, lifting heavy weight, etc ergonomic advice by a physiotherapist will also help.

Every diet is customised as per person's body type to give the maximum benefit, better would be to talk to the dietitian who gave you the diet so that necessary changes can be done as per your needs. In short you should avoid all forms of sweets and sugar, fruit juices, cold drinks, refined carbohydrates, and have sufficient amount of protein, don't skip meals and have early dinner which should be light.
