You might be suffering from bruxism. Dental evaluation of the teeth and muscles is needed to confirm diagnosis. If confirmed night guard will be needed.

Salivary glands shrink with age producing less saliva,a natural antimicrobial that helps prevent decay, hence chew a sugarfree gum regularly to stimulate production of saliva.

Hi. I guess you will have to visit a dentist to ascertain why your teeth are yellow in the first place. And am sorry to say home remedies aren't much of help to whiten.

My gums are bleeding very nuch everyday without doing any thing because of that my mouth getting bad smell give me any description.

BDS
Dentist, Bangalore
There are so many causes of bleeding gums - - brushing too hard - poor oral hygiene. - vitamin deficiency - taking blood thinners or other medications - bleeding or clotting disorders - mouth sores - other medical problems, including diabetes, heart disease, leukemia or scurvy few advice to stop bleeding gums-- - visit to a dentist for professional cleaning once in a year - use a soft toothbrush -- and brush properly! brush your teeth for at least two minutes twice a day and after meals. Hard brushing can further damage the soft tissues of your mouth. - floss at least once a day and be sure to floss beyond the gum line to remove more plaque. - control bleeding by applying pressure to the area with a cold compress. - rinse with salt water to keep the area clean. - avoid mouthwashes that contain alcohol, which can dry out your mouth. - stay away from smoking and other tobacco products, which can aggravate bleeding gums.

I have pain in my teeth since 1 month ago now it is very painful what should I do?

MDS - Periodontics
Dentist, Surat
Usually, dental pain is because of infected pulp. And taking painkillers will not help much. If you need a permanent relief, you have to consult a dentist. Get your xray done and let him advice the necessary treatment. For the time being, you can take any drug having paracetamol 500 mg 2/3 times a day to manage pain. Remember, with medications pain will subside but it is not a permanent solution.

I accidently cut my lower lip's inner side with my teeth while eating. Now I am unable to eat anything and facing too much burning sensation while eating anything. What to do?

MDS - Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery
Dentist, Chennai
Kindly consult a dentist in person for further suggestion. We need more investigations to decide upon treatment. You may need coronoplasty (smoothen teeth edges) along with c. Becosules 5 cap, for five days in the morning after meals & hexigel ointment on the area of ulcer until then. You may consult me in person. Dental tips: - visit a dentist every six months for cleaning and a thorough dental check-up. Limit sugary food to avoid tooth decay. Gargle your mouth thoroughly after every meal. Scrub gently to clean your tongue with a tongue cleaner. Floss all your teeth inter dentally & brush twice daily, morning & night, up & down short vertical strokes, with ultra-soft bristles, indicator brush.

How to bring maxilla forward in adults if one is 21 years old. Can it be done with braces too ? Or something else.

MDS - Orthodontics, BDS
Dentist, Howrah
Hello lybrate user, bringing the maxilla forward will be possible with a combination procedure of braces assited with surgery, which is corrective jaw surgery also known as orthognathic surgery. Alternative treatment options will be camouflage orthodontics where the mandibular teeth will be moved to a further backward position to mask the already backward placed maxilla. The whole treatment depends on how much the maxilla is placed back and to what extent. For further details you need to visit an orthodontist.

I have problems my teeth and bloods come to after cleans my teeth. how to resolve the problems my problems give me solution I feel little pain also.

BDS
Dentist, Mumbai
Dear bleeding gums, most commonly result from gum inflammation (swelling) due to tartar / plaque deposition on teeth. Brush twice a day, rinse vigorously after every meal and get a professional cleaning of your teeth done. That should resolve your problem.

It seems your tooth decay has reached deep into the pulp. Please visit your nearby dentist so that the problem can be stopped then and there only before its too late.

Is it right for the dentist to straightway start the RCT without verifying the requirement of taking X-Ray? Isn't the dentist supposed to confirm that RCT is complete by taking X-Ray and co-relate the result of the operation he had carried out?

MDS Prosthodontics, MDS Endodontist
Dentist, Ahmedabad
Cases where dentist avoid taking x-ray 1. To avoid exposure to patient mainly children or pregnant women. 2. Where clinically dentist find tooth decay affecting pulp but not root. 3. At the time of rct if dentist has well computerised equipment like apex locator and he/she feel confident of their treatment they may avoid taking x ray. So dentists are not taking x-ray every time, to prevent radiation hazards as much as possible. But if your problem persist than you can ask your dentist to take an x ray.

My teeth colour is off white. So please tell me. What can to do for white teeth. I was cleaned my teeth by dentist.

MDS - Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery
Dentist, Chennai
Cause of discoloration ? Smoking, coffee, tea, drugs, aging, staining food (wine, blueberry, etc) genetics. We need more investigations with clinical examination to decide upon treatment. You may need deep cleaning along with whitening (bleaching) procedures and / or artificial enamel filling and / or capping. Advance procedures can be done with laser. Use Snowdent tooth paste for whitening until then. Apply SNOWDENT paste on the teeth. Wait for 10 to 15 min .Then brush your teeth with the same paste. Applying it overnight for better results. Tooth brush to be changed every 2 months.

I feel pain in teeth when I eat something cold or hot. I always use Colgate but my teeth colour is not white. It has different colour like mily.

BDS
Dentist, Vadodara
Pain in teeth while eating hot or cold food is indication of sensitivity. You can use sensitivity toothpaste. Normal healthy teeth need not be pearly white. A slightly milky colour is quiet common. Still if you want to lighten you teeth colour you can go for bleaching.
