Dear lybrate user avoid any creams or face wash use gram fluor and turmeric instead, you need a proper costitutional treatment for cure since local applications may just suppress or palliate you thus causing future exacerbatios or flare since homoeopathy acts by altering your susceptibility it will give you a permanent cure.

HellO doctors. I am a 20 years male. I have hairfall problem from almost half a year now.In details I have itchy scalp and when I scratch my scalp approx. 5 hairs falls down and that had became normal to see.(for me). One can't spot that much of white thing (what I call dandruff, but don't know what it is) on my hairs but it can be seen when focused. I don't know my scalp type. When I scratch or comb my hairs. Not in all hairs that fall but in some of them there is a white thing sticked at the root point and if I try to separate it from fallen hair this takes some force, not that much but also not as easy as just touching and removing this white thing from hair root. As for medication or treatment by the source which is internet. I am using coconut oil to condition my hairs for approx. To hours and then wash it off with shampoo (loreal Instant clear. Sometimes I switch the oils like mustard oil, amla oil (Indian gooseberry oil) but mostly its been coconut oil and shampoo remained same from almost a month or more. But nothing seems to work. My hairfall problem is not gone and so as that white thing. PLEASE HELP.

Hi, there could be many reasons for your hair loss. Seborrheic dermatitis (generally called dandruff when it appears on the scalp) can occur on any part of the body that produces a lot of oil (sebum). The skin can get very red and appear greasy, producing scales that may be white or yellow. Dandruff doesn't actually CAUSE hair loss, but if your dandruff is accompanied by itching and you find yourself scratching often, then the scratching could be causing some hair to fall out. When using the remedies suggested - particularly the shampoos - make sure they get right to your scalp and that you leave them on for a good 5 minutes before rinsing, giving them time to (hopefully!) work their magic. And remember - itchy scalp hair loss can usually be remedied very quickly by treating the cause of the irritation. This type of hair loss is rarely permanent! Use tar based shampoo or selenium sulfide based shampoos. These shampoos Not only does this slow down the rate at which skin cells die, it also cuts back on the amount of malassezia present on the scalp. However, Avoid selenium sulfide, though, if your hair is blonde, gray or colored, because it can cause discoloration. Also consult a Hair Transplant specialist or a trichologist in your area. Now I am not suggesting that you require a hair transplant, but it does not harm to take a consult from a specialist. Also, these hair specialists have many different types of treatment that you could benefit from. Dandruff can also be avoided by paying close attention to your diet. Make sure you eat foods containing plenty of: 1. Zinc (seafood, meats, wheat germ, spinach. Even dark chocolate!) 2. B vitamins (eggs, liver, seafood, meat) 3. Omega 3 fatty acids (salmon, flax seeds, sardines, walnuts, mackerel) 4. Omega 6 fatty acids (eggs, cereal, poultry, avocado, many vegetable oils) Hope this helps. Good Luck.

Hot Oil Massage - Can It Help Manage Dandruff?

Hot Oil Massage - Can It Help Manage Dandruff?

Dandruff is a condition where flakes of dead skin appear on the scalp, accompanied with itching. There are different types of dandruff you can suffer from. It be can yellow and sticky or white and flaky. It is a very common condition, which is often the result of exposure to styling products, chronic constipation, stress, fatigue or pollution. A chemical treatment can surely cure the condition but it can also harm your hair as well as have its fair share of side effects.

Here are a few ayurvedic treatments which you could try to treat dandruff:

1. Coconut oil and camphor: Mix a small portion of camphor with some coconut. Store it in a container and apply it to your scalp every night. The camphor will help cool your scalp, which will help reduce the dandruff.

2. Coconut and lemon: Lemon is a particular ingredient, which is used for many hair care remedies. Warm up the coconut oil, mix some lemon juice in it and apply it on your scalp. Leave it on for at least half an hour and then wash your hair with shampoo. Perform this remedy at least for two to three weeks.

3. Curd and gram flour: Take a small bowl of curd and mix two to three teaspoons of gram flour. Add half a spoon of lemon juice in the mixture before applying it on your scalp and leave it for half an hour. Curd and gram flour are considered to be the best cleansers to clean the scalp and one of the best remedies for dandruff.

4. Lemon and neem leaves: Take a few neem leaves and make a paste. Add only half of a lemon to the paste and apply the mixture to your scalp. Leave it on for half an hour before washing your hair with shampoo. Follow this for at least two to three weeks.

5. Hot oil massage: A hot oil massage not only gives you relaxation, but also helps a lot with dandruff. Heat up a small amount of oil and massage your scalp with it. The hot oil seeps deeper into the roots of hair.
These remedies not only clear your scalp of the dandruff, but they also make your hair soft, smooth and healthy. So go and try them out. In case you have a concern or query you can always consult an expert & get answers to your questions!

Hi. It's very normal to have post-partum hairloss. So, relax and start taking care of yourself. Take diet rich in protein like non-veg., eggs (it's loaded with essential nutrients such as proteins, Vitamin B12, iron, zinc and Omega 6 fatty acids in large amounts and biotin) , different pulses & legumes, sprouts, nuts (sp. walnuts and almonds); iron-rich food like green vegetables, dates, carrots, prunes, green peas; also oats, shrimp, take flaxseeds, sunflower seeds, sesame seeds, green tea, soyabean, fruits, salads, etc. Take low-fat dairy products (they also contain whey and casein, two high-quality protein sources) Take proper 6-9hrs of sound sleep. Give up the habit of smoking and excessive alcohol intake. Avoid junk food and any kind of beverages (tea, coffee, aerated drinks, cold drinks, etc.) Avoid canned/ tinned food or food that contains preservatives (eat fresh ones). Avoid use of hard water to wash the head rather use boiled water for head wash. Avoid use of harsh hair colour, hair treatment like rebonding, straightening, perming, etc. Avoid vigorous exercises or any supplements provided by the gym! Cover your head with scarf or cap while stepping outside. Use Rose wood/ any wooden hair comb to brush your hair. Regular exercising is also one of the important point, but should be done under some good, qualified yoga teacher or instructor for proper guidance; it also releases the stress/ tension in the mind and the body and keeps you FIT and YOUNG!! Medication: (The following homoeopathic medicines are very safe to take even if you are lactating). Take homoeopathic Rx - Schwabe's Wiesbaden 200 & Alfalfa Tonic twice a day for 1 month and revert. If you are taking calcium and iron tablets, then do take Five Phos. and Alfaalfa Tonic - both thrice daily. Also, use Schwabe's Arnica shampoo and Hair Growth oil regularly as per the condition of your scalp (minimum 3 times a week). After shampooing, use Bakson's Arnica Hair conditioner as well after every head wash. Apart from this, take Follihair tablets (multivitamin) - 1 tab. daily once for 1 month. (N.B.: With the help of homoeopathic medicines, we can only prevent further progress of the hairloss, means it will get arrests in the present condition in case of progressive baldness. But, in case there are areas of baldness which has gone smooth and shiny, you will have to choose an option of Hair Transplant along with theses medications!). Investigations advised: Get your blood tested for (empty stomach) - CBC, S. Iron, S. Folic acid, S. Ferritin, S. Calcium, S. Vitamin D3, S. Vitamin B12. If there is any family history of Thyroid dysfunction, get Thyroid function test done as well.

If the white patches are static or slowly reducing and no new patches have appeared in other body parts, for limited patches I suggest laser abrasion with over grafting.
