Go for check your uric acid in your blood. Daily warm water foot bath at night before sleep. Practise bayabya mudra from qualified and experinced teacher. If not availble contactor practice for 4 weeks then contact.

My father have pain in his knee joint, whenever he sit. Then there is pain when he going to stand. He can not stand without any problem. His knee joint paining continuously but when he stand after sitting then the pain is increase. Tell me the solution to reduce his pain.

I understand your concern for your father. As per your complains it seems he is suffering from knee arthritis which is very common at this age. I would advise you to please go for proper investigation like xray, uric acid, calcium etc blood tests so that the reason can be diagnosed. In the mean time to get relief from pain and stiffness please follow the physio measures: precautions- 1. Avoid prolong standing. Standing on one leg or running for time being if its painful. 2. Take care while bending your knees, it should not directly strain your joint. 3. Avoid heavy weight lifting. 4. Wear shoes with good arch support, do not wear high -healed shoes. 5. Use the correct positions during activities so that you do not strain your muscles. 6. Try to change your sitting position every 15 min so that it should not give strain on your knees. 7. Avoid sitting on floor with both knees bending. 8. Take diet rich in calcium like milk, dairy products, banana etc which will enhance your calcium and gives you strength. At home you can ask him to start treatment along with some prescribed calcium tablets. 1. Make use of hot packs and ice packs alternately. Apply with the ratio of 3: 2 which means 3 min ice then 2 min heat. Ice has very good results in relieving pain than heat so combination of both gives you complete relax. As ice reduces pain and heat stimulates blood flow around the affected area. 2. After this using thumb ask him to massage the knee painful area gently. Relax for 5 minutes. 3. And then ask him to start doing knee (quads) isometrics atleast 10-15 times with the hold of 5 -10 seconds. Also you can do some knee strengthening when pain is decreased in the mean time like - hams sets, knee bending and straitening, heel raising, bridging, squatting, lunge etc. Lot of exercises are there. The above treatment will give him pain relief and discomfort. If possible please contact any physio who will study his daily routine, symptoms, degree of pain etc and accordingly will give him the best treatment plan. Along with it give our pain relieving modalities like ift, us vacuum therapy for 10-12 days with mobilisation exercises. Best regards.

My knee gets stressed after long walk at moderate or fast speed. Also thigh muscle gets strained on climbing steps. Please suggest remedy. I have taken calcium vitamin D and cartigen tabs

Identify the dipping portion on the back of your knee folding. Press this dip with both middle fingers and hold your knee with your thumbs for support. Swing 20 times morning and evenings. This will relieve your problem. Also take calcium tablets for a limited period 2 months please consult after 10 days

Sleep on a hard bed with soft bedding on it. SPRING BEDS, FOLDING BEDS OR THICK MATRESS ARE HARMFUL Use no pillow under the head. DO HOT FOMANTATION. Paracetamol 250mg OD & SOS x 5days. Caldikind plus 1tab OD x10. Do neck, back & general exercises. It may have to be further investigated. You will need other supportive medicines also. Make sure you are not allergic to any of the medicines you are going to take. If it does not give relief in 4-5days, contact me again.. Do not ignore .It could be beginning of a serious problem.

Hi I am sure you must be on treatment for all these conditions. It very essential to achieve good glycemic control, otherwise it can lead to various problems (long term complications) associated with diabetes. Even rheumatoid arthritis like diabetes is a disease that can only be controlled. Apart from drugs treatment it is necessary to be physically active to keep healthy and fit. Exercise will also help in reducing blood sugar. Thanks for the question.

Dear lybrate-user do not worry about it may cause any problem in future as such do learn and practise strengthening and stretching exercises from neuro physiotherapist use firm hard and even mattress for sleep apply hot and cold water fomentation for thrice a day for 7 days regularly or do come back with detailed reports for further assistance best wishes.

Core strengthening exercise- straight leg raised with toes turned outward, repeat 10 times, twice a day. Hams stretching- lie straight, take the leg up, pull the feet towards yourself, with a elastic tube or normal belt. Repeat 10 times, twice a day. Quadriceps exercises- lie straight, make a towel role and put it under the knee, press the keen against the role, hold it for 20 secs. Repeat 20 times twice a day. This will help relieve some pain. Keep your leg raised while sitting or lying quadriceps strengthening exercises- quad clenches: lie flat on your back or sit upright on a chair with leg kept horizontally on another surface. Now, tighten the muscle on the front of the thigh by pushing your knee down. You should feel your thigh muscles clench, hold for 3 secs. Repeat 10 times twice a day. Short arcs: lie flat on your back or sit upright with your leg placed horizontally on a flat surface like a chair or bed. Place a rolled up towel under the knee. Pull your toes towards you and clench you thigh muscles. Slowly lift your foot up off the bed until your knee is straight (keep your knee resting on the towel). Hold for 3 secs and slowly lower them on the chair. Repeat 10 times twice a day. Straight leg raise: lie flat on your back. One leg and knee will be straight and other leg should be bent. Pull your toes towards you and tighten/clench the muscle on the front of the thigh, locking your knee straight. Lift your foot up in the air, about 6 inches off the bed. Hold for 3 secs and slowly lower the leg. The knee must remain straight the whole time you are doing this exercise.

It's been about 2 months now. How should I deal with this knee problem? There is still some pain left of the scooter accident.

Hi lybrate-user thank you for giving me an opportunity to answer your question. Back pain from one month should be the result of bad posture and faulty mechanics. Need a detail evaluation and than can correct the exact pain causing factor. Few advice 1. Maintain. A good posture by doing selective exercises 2. Do McKenzie exercises details will be provided if you get an text consultation. 3. Do lumbar joint extension exercises. Eg. Superman exercise 4. Take hot pack before and after exercises 5. Do all exercises 5 times only once a day and slowly if comfortable go ahead with two times. 6. Place a pillow over your chest lie down for 10 mins. This will relax all your back muscles. 7. Maintain proper back rest while sitting. Regards.

spine scratch could have lead to an infectious inflammation,so in order to reduce the size and pain she would need antibiotics like augmentin along with enzoflam twice a day,and a multivitamin like vizilac once a day.

First of all check your posture when you are lifting any material like heavy bucket. And try to lift the heavy bucket without bending your back. You may lift the bucket after bending your knees only. This will definitely help you. * gentle massage with lukewarm mustard oil of your waist area will also give you relief. * surya namaskar is only exercise which you need to do. * in diet vegetable protein of cereal, b complex supplements and half teaspoon of haldi in a cup of milk for seven days will give you enough relief.

I am a 53 years old lady taking medicine for hypothyroid. Before 7 months back have trigger thumb and take injection for it and fully cured. Now before 8 days again I have trigger thumb on the same thumb and doctor give me injection. Is it safe to take steroid injections, and what should be the time interval between two? have not been cured after 4 days, how many days it will take? can I take one more dose if it will not cure in 1 dose. I am also suffering from joint pain in all joints in my body.

do not take injection of steroid for thyroid. Go for walk daily . Avoid stress. Some Relax during work. Drink more water, high-carbohydrate foods such as potatoes, rice, pasta and bread. You can take Nutrient-rich foods that improve your health may also benefit your thyroid gland, antioxidant-rich fruits and vegetables more plenty of water: Blueberries, tomatoes, bell peppers, and other foods rich in antioxidants can improve overall health and benefit the thyroid gland. Eating foods high in B vitamins, like whole grains, may also help. Selenium: Tiny amounts of selenium are needed for enzymes that make thyroid hormones to work properly.
