Is It Time To Visit A Dermatologist?

A dermatologist is a medical professional who is trained to treat disorders pertaining to skin, hair and nails and genital diseases. Reddened skin, irritation, abnormal patches, blemishes on the skin etc. are the conditions affecting most people at some point of their lives. Hair loss, irritation on the scalp, dandruff, brittle nails are common as well and it is important to see a dermatologist if such conditions persist to prevent any major issue and for the overall well-being of an individual. Here are some very common reasons that drive people to visit their dermatologist.

1. Acne - Acne is the most common skin woe among teenagers and it affects adults as well. Although people tend to self- medicate or use home remedies for treating acne, it is important to recognize its cause. If acne is one's constant reason of embarrassment, it's time to see a professional and get some customized medication.

2. Sun spots or mole - Overexposure to the sun can cause varied skin conditions among which sunspots and sunburns are most commonly seen. If the exposed area develops irritation and red patches, one should seek professional help. An early examination can detect adverse issues like skin cancerMoles are also very common, some people have moles since birth, and some develop new ones later in life. It is a cause of concern if the mole changes size, color or if it bleeds scabs or pains.

3. EczemaEczema is a broad term used to describe certain chronic conditions of the skin. Eczema causes the skin to become red, itchy, dry and swollen. It leads to great discomfort and distress often ruining one's sleep and mental peace. Atopic Dermatitis is a most common form of Eczema usually seen in children. Proper treatment can cause it to subside. If you observe any symptoms of eczema, a visit to the dermatologist is a must.

4. Patches of skin lighter or darker than the normal skin tone - Often some areas of the skin change color and they are not always the result of sun exposure because sometimes the skin can also become lighter. These may be symptoms serious diseases like leprosy or even cutaneous lymphoma, a kind of cancer or a disorder in the connective tissue. A thorough examination will reveal its cause and treatment can be opted for, which will require a visit to a dermatologist.

5. Hair loss - Hair loss may be due to various reasons and a dermatologist is best to treat it.

6. PsoriasisIt is an autoimmune skin disease which causes red scaly rashes on the body. It is important to diagnose and treat it effectively and one should visit a dermatologist for the same.

7. Nail problems - Apart from fungal infection, there are many other conditions which affect nails and the only dermatologist can identify it. So if you have any issues related to nail, consult a dermatologist.

8. Sexually Transmitted Diseases - Unprotected sexual intercourse can predispose one to many sexually transmitted diseases apart from HIV, for example, genital herpes, molluscum, genital warts etc and a dermatologist is well trained for diagnosis and treatment of the same.

High BP is not an uncommon problem and is partly due to bad lifestyle and eating habits and partly due to some disease condition. To mange BP a combination of lifestyle changes and medications are required. Since you are already taking medications, in case you are experiencing any side-effects, it is better to discuss it with your treating cardiologist for other medication options. Also changes in daily lifestyle practices can also help in dose reduction of required medicines and these lifestyle measures are - daily exercise like brisk walking for 40-45 mins, salt control in diet by avoiding excessive salty foods like pickles, papads, namkeens, fried and junk food, quitting drinking and smoking, decreasing caffeine intake to 2-3 cups a day and reducing weight using diet and exercise if you are overweight. Also if a complete evaluation to rule out any disease related causes of BP has not been done, please get that done as well.

Am getting pimples and that marks I have tried all soaps but no use how can I cure pimples.
Yes but not by soaps. Keep reading for acne do the following: wash your face 5-6 times daily. Take one cup of spinach juice every day. If you can, eat only fruits and fruit juices for three days. Apply steam on your face. Do some exercise for 20 mins to 30 mins, which will cause heavy sweating on the entire body. These will remove pimples from his face in less than two months. Also remember no lotion, cream or medicine can actually remove them permanently. Only the above treatment can do so.

Dear friend Sorry to hear about your loss. It is a difficult time. Although grief is a condition everyone must endure, it is important not to let grief dominate your life, and in essence, become your life. Talk about your loss with friends, family or a professional. Indulge in uplifting activities: These activities may be as soteric as studying philosophy or as centering as planting a tree.  Sometimes just walking through a garden can be uplifting.  Meditation, centering Prayer and stress reduction techniques. These can help to control stress and allow one to find a deeper state of awareness or relaxation. Meditation and Prayer may assist in one’s spiritual development by clearing the mind of the day to day stress. Avoid stressful situations and decisions. This is important especially in the initial stages of grief when people are not always exercising their best judgment. Physical exercise. This is an excellent way to “take the edge” off the physical symptoms of grief. Studies show that physical exercise releases endorphins into the body which can alleviate stress and mental anxiety. Do daily morning walk for 20 minutes. Think. Would your loved one be happy to see you in this state? Do what he would have wanted you to do to be happy. Get help for severe or persistent depression. Someone once said: “grief is not a disease but it can become one.” Grief can lead to serious depression. Consider getting professional help if you feel overwhelmed, hopeless, or helpless. Other signs of depression can include sleep impairment (too little or too much), appetite or weight change, low energy, difficulty concentrating, and feeling listless or agitated. Take care of yourself. Remember open up, talk, help is just a call away. Have faith and patience. God bless you!

As per US report, she seems to be having polycystic ovaries, it is a common problem and it is too early to say that she will have any problem in conceiving. Prolonged periods soon after marriage can be due to stress. Irregularity in periods does happens in many girls for few months after marriage. If she doesnot conceive after trying for 5-6 months, get her honmones tested.
