I am 18 years old and my eyes turn yellow as soon as I come in sunlight. What I should do to prevent this?
This must be due to dryness. Measures to reduce this include 1. Work under proper light. 2. Blink a lot. 3. Cold compresses 4. Use goggles when in sunlight 5. Use good lubricating eyedrop.

Hello doctor I am 29 year old. I am totally addicted to internet through laptop and mobile phones I often use youtube...
Hello lybrate user. Gadget and internet addiction is a growing problem today. It has almost taken the identity of a person in our life without whom we get anxious and depressed. It is difficult but can be taken care by many of the techniques including exposure and response prevention that is sit with the laptop in front of you but deliberately and forcibly restrict yourself to touch it or start it. In the start it may be very difficult and anxiety provoking but remember that if you give a freeze response for just a few minutes say 15 to 20 mins, you will find that after reaching a peak your distress starts to melt and that you are able to handle your urge to not use it. It needs practice for sure and may be assistance and help from somebody else initially. The other long term practice I suggest you to learn is the mindfulness practice. We have created a virtual reality around us that actually consists of just materialistic aspects and missions one after the other. This has decreased our ability to actually perceive things as reality around us and ourselves as it is. With mindfulness what we learn is to look at things non-judgementally and effectively which allows us a better self control over ourselves and our lives. For an initial while if your anxiety is too much you can be given medications for the same. If you want to learn more about mindfulness sessions or for medications you may contact.

Lasik is a simple laser procedure which changes the shape of the cornea so that the light rays fall on the retina properly. It is a painless procedure. It is a day care procedure does not require any injections, does not require admission, you can simply resume your duties in 2 days. Cost varies from centre to centre. Side effects are usually limited to dryness of eyes for few months. We can do lasik anytime after age of 18 years. You need to undergo proper prelasik checkup to decide whether lasik is safe for you or not

Red eyes could be because of many reasons but commonly it is due to allergy or infection. You need to visit eye specialist to differentiate between the two as the treatment is different. Also get your eyes checked for any glass power.

What are the various reasons causing night blindness and what are the various treatment to cure it.

FICO, DNB Ophtalmology
Ophthalmologist, Gandhinagar
What are the various reasons causing night blindness and what are the various treatment to cure it.
Night blindness has various causes associated with it: (1) deficiency of vitamins- vitamin a deficiency, specifically, in young children may lead to night blindness. Prompt dietary modification and administration should be of help. (2) congenital defect: retinitis pigmentosa, heredomacular degeneration, congenital stationary night blindness are a few of the disorders that are present from birth/ childhood that could lead to night blindness. These should be assessed and treated accordingly. There are a few treatment options such as dietary supplements, low vision aid devices, genetic counseling therapy that might have some benefit in for the same. (3) raised intra-occular pressure may at times caused reduced vision at night time/ low illumination. This would be easily detected when undergoing checkup by an eye specialist. (4) certain other infectious conditions may also cause night blindness. Thus, my suggestion for you would be to undergo a thorough eye evaluation by a retina specialist and then follow the therapy suggested by him/her. Hope my suggestions help you. Take care, regards.

I find swelling below my right eye everyday when I wake up in the morning and swelling reduces as the day progresses but never goes. I have consulted doctors on this but none of them could find anything after examination. Some of them said it might be due to infection and suggested eye drops and tablets but it never cured even after using those medicines and drops.

I have red eyes last over three day and also have red spots in my eyes so what should I do?

BHMS
Homeopath, Faridabad
I have red eyes last over three day and also have red spots in my eyes so what should I do?
Hello, Bloodshot eyes appear red because the vessels at the surface of the white portion of the eye become swollen. Vessels may swell due to: Eye dryness Too much sun exposure Dust or other particles in the eye Allergies Infection Injury Eye infections or inflammation can cause redness as well as possible itching, discharge, pain, or vision problems. Other causes of eye redness include Colds or allergies, Acute glaucoma, Corneal scratches: Injuries caused by sand, dust, or overuse of contact lenses. Sometimes, a bright red spot, called a subconjunctival hemorrhage, will appear on the white of the eye. This often happens after straining or coughing, which causes a broken blood vessel on the surface of the eye. Most often, there is no pain and your vision is normal. It is almost never a serious problem. Because the blood leaks into the conjunctiva, which is clear, you cannot wipe or rinse the blood away. Like a bruise, the red spot will go away within a week or two. Management: - Try to rest your eyes if redness is due to fatigue or eye strain. No other treatment is needed. - Wash your hands, hold clean water in your hand, keep your eyes closer to the water and dip the eyes by blinking the eyelids frequently in the held water in hand. Repeat it for 3-4 times again. - Avoid watching T. V. Working on computer or mobile, reading or frequently keep blinking your eyes to avoid dryness. Take frequent breaks in between. - In case there is itching, use a clean napkin or a tissue to wipe the tears and cleaning the eyelids gently. -Wear an UV-rays protected sunglasses while you are out in sun. Medication: Take homoeopathic medicines - Schwabe’s Belladonna 30 and Euphrasia 30 - both thrice daily for 4 days. Use Euphrasia Eye drops twice daily. Revert back thereafter.
