Hi Swapnil., Thanky you for writing into Lybrate. Medication:- 1. Tab Obesidat -1tab twice a day before food. 2. Triphala juice-10ml with warm water daily before food twice a day Tips:- 1.No salt intake after 7: 30pm 2.No aerated drinks. Even Liquor too. 3.Restrict mango and banana. 4.Restrict potato and rice. 5.No artificial juices. 6.Half an hour aerobic exercise daily. Joining a gym for workout will be a better option. 7.20 mins of breathing exercise (pranayam). 8.Avoid Rajmah, Channa, Peas, Mushroom, Gobi, Pumpkin, Leafy vegetables, Capsicum, Paneer, Cheese, Curd, Non Veg, Maida related items (like Bread, bun, pizza, burger etc), Deep fried and spicy food, Sweets, Sugar, carbohydrate rich fruits like apple, Sapota, Banana etc. 9.Avoid rice intake in the morning and strictly in the night. 10.Avoid intake of refrigerated food in the morning, prepared previous night. 11.Intake of food should be on time without skipping even a single meal. 12.Maintain min two hours of gap between dinner intake and sleep. 13.Consume minimum eight glasses of water a day. 14.“Early to bed and early to rise” should be strictly followed. Sleeping Late night should be strictly avoided. 15.Have fruits only in the noon time. Avoid fruits consumption in the night (occasionally can be taken before dinner). 16.Stop intake of milk during bed time. 17.Bathing should be before food intake only. 18.Tea, milk intake should be twice a day preferably morning and evening. Coffee intake should be strictly avoided

I do regular exercise which covers cardio plus strength exercise. My age is 39 yrs. Cardio includes excessive running and cycling. Do I need calcium medication for knee or no medications needed. Please suggest. Thanks

Excessive workout is not necessary. What is beneficial is a balance of different activities to strengthen the muscles and tendons and relax you mind and body. Over-exercising will not give double benefits. Some times it may be harmful to the joints. So strike a balance between exercise and rest. Eat a healthy and balanced diet. You can take professional help ( doctors help to check you health status and certified trainers to guide you through exercise regime) if you want to go for advanced training.

The treatment for bipolar disorder should continue under the supervision of your Psychiatrist. To the best of my knowledge, "steroids" can CAUSE bipolar disorder or some forms of psychosis. So unless it is critical for you to take "steroids" I would like to wean you off the drug. Optimizing thyroids and other hormones and nutrients can help in the management of Bipolar disorder. I will suggest you to do suryanamaskar daily as per your capacity for a minimum of six months and Few diet tips - Not to eat fried food items and Can eat All green vegetables, moong, chana,Dal, rice etc And to apply ghee over chappati and don't apply oil over chappati And to drink milk mixed with turmeric powder twice a day And If possible eat eggs on alternate days And If possible in breakfast eat atleast one bajra ka rotla And Eat seasonal fruit.

Hi Shameel.. If you are loosing weight then it should be first checked for... As it can be sign of some serious disease...so before it really become serious find out the cause... Taking random Medicine for weight gain may not help... Still if you want take Homoeopathic Medicine Alfalfa Q 10 drops TDs before meals..

Hello sir/madam my sister is pregnant from 2 month. But she has type-2 diabetes with now blood sugar level is 135 mg/dl at fasting. She taking Sitagliptin nd glycomet gp2 forte as medication. Again before 6 month she having increase t3 and t4 level. With constant decrease TSH. Is she is safe during pregnancy? Or any precaution is taken during her pregnancy? Kindly tell.

Hello, firstly get her to see a gynaec right away to confirm the pregnancy. Who wud then refer her to any endocrinologist for her sugars and thyroid levels. She wud probably be asked to stop sitagliptin as itz unsafe in pregnancy but please do this only after seeing the doctor as he wud put you on alternative meds. Her thyroid wud be checked again. But please visit the doctors as therez a risk to the baby also with this sugar level and meds.
