Foul smell comes from my mouth whole day even if I brush my teeth two times a day Please give quick response to my question and give effective ways to eliminate this problem.

BDS
Dentist, Vadodara
Bad breath can be due to accumulation of plaque on teeth, decay in teeth, bad digestion, sour throat, dry mouth, consumption of caffeinated beverages or alcoholic drinks, onions and garlic. So check for the cause. For precautions, go for scaling and polishing. Brush twice daily and use a mouthwash. Also clean your tongue. Increase your intake of water. Limit your food intake to 4-5 times a day. Forcefully gargle with water after you eat or drink anything. Reduce your intake of caffeinated beverages or alcoholic drinks, onions, garlic, oilly n spicy foods especially at night.

Ma'am this is quite common problem. Nothing to worry. First you should get your teeth cleaned by nearest dentist. Plus make sure you don't eat anything sweet during night. Sometimes sweet stimulates our salivary gland.

My sister used to brush every day and night. She had a cavity and it was treated. But she found her mouth smells bad though drinking more water. What should do to get rid of bad breath?

MDS - Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery
Dentist, Chennai
Infections in the mouth, such as dental caries (tooth decay), periodontal (gum) disease or mouth sores related to other conditions may contribute to bad breath. Persistent bad breath or a bad taste in the mouth may be a warning sign of gum (periodontal) disease. Gum disease is caused by the buildup of plaque on teeth. Dry mouth also can cause bad breath. Smoking or chewing tobacco-based products also can cause bad breath, You may need deep cleaning & fill tooth cavities with artificial enamel filling. Rinse your mouth thoroughly with a mouth wash until then.

My front two teeth are not in shape they got chipped from bottom a little bit four years ago when I was playing and fell. They look kinda asymmetric I want them in shape suggest me a long-term solution without cons Thanks.

BDS, MDS - Periodontics
Dentist, Bangalore
Slight shaping of the tooth structure to create symmetry is possible. But if removed in excess would result in loss of enamel and result in sensitivity.

His mouth smells bad sometimes. He brush his teeth twice a day! What should he do?

BDS, FICOI, Fellow of Academy of General Education (FAGE)
Dentist, Bangalore
He should also make sure to clean his tongue while brushing and to take out all collected mucous, need to rinse mouth after having food, need to drink water frequently, need to have check up with near by dentist to know whether he has any tartar or depositis so that necessary cleaning has to be done.

I broke my tooth (Front tooth). I lost half part of it. I know I does not grow. I heard of tooth implant. How much does it cost? Is there any other process to come over?

BDS
Dentist, Siliguri
No need of tooth implant if the root of the tooth is firmly attached to the bone or any fracture in the root. Visit a dentist, via x-ray that will be confirmed. If the root is fine, go for rct with post and core build up and placed a crown above that. Your tooth will look same as what it was, also the costing will be lesser than implant and also for implants 3 months treatment time period is needed and for rct with crown (post) it will take maximum 3-5 days.

Our teeth perform the primary function of breaking down the food particles for further intake. So, healthy teeth equals to a healthy body. Visit a dentist every once in a while to keep your primary organs healthy.

BDS
Dentist,
You can’t brush every time you eat. But you sure can drink water or at least rinse your mouth with water every time you do so. Water neutralises the effects of acidic and sugary foods. Rinsing removes food particles left behind on/ between the teeth.

Can't open my mouth completely due to wisdom teeth on uper left side. It's painful.

MDS - Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery
Dentist, Chennai
Advice mouth opening exercises. Need more investigations (Full mouth x-ray) with clinical examination to decide upon treatment. Adv. medication, cleaning, root canal treatment or surgical removal procedures for the gum mucosa above the tooth or the tooth itself. Until then apply clove oil. Rinse frequently with mouth wash.

Brush twice a day, keep tooth problems away: Brushing twice a day removes the tiny left out food particles from the mouth and keeps it fresher and cleaner.

A front tooth was slightly broken about 10 years ago now it getting black. What should I do? What is reason of the darkening?

BDS
Dentist, Mumbai
if you have had a injury to your front tooth in childhood, and now it is becoming dark, it is suggestive of a damage to the pulp tissue of your tooth. You need to undergo a root canal treatment for that tooth. After the root canal treatment is done, you may be able to get the white colour of your tooth back with internal bleaching (if possible) or a crown on your tooth. Please visit your dentist as soon as possible and get a root canal treatment done.

Tongue cleaning is as important as brushing and flossing. Use of a proper tongue scraper every morning will remove tongue plaque and freshen your breath.

Why there is sensitivity in teeth after scaling. Is it normal for some days or there is something wrong.

MDS
Dentist, Kota
its normal . its because of exposure of sensitive parts of teeth after scaling. you should use some medicated toothpaste to get rid of it.

What is the meaning of oral lichenoid dysplasia with invasion and oral lichenoidlesion.

MDS - Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery
Dentist, Chennai
Oral lichenoid lesions: a mouth condition where white lesions develop inside the mouth. Redness, blistering and ulceration may also occur. It is believed to be caused by an autoimmune condition where the body's immune system attacks tissue inside the mouth. Sometimes the condition can be caused by allergies to metals in mouth appliances that are installed but it can also be caused by other forms of mechanical injury to the mouth such as cheek biting. Oral lichenoid dysplasia has the ability to transform into carcinoma. So it has to be excised completely.
