It's my first pregnancy. My last period was on 19 August 2016. Please tell me if you have to undergo any test or ultrasound now? Because my gyne says test will be done after I complete 8 months.

MD - Radio Diagnosis/Radiology
Radiologist, Jammu
Hii lybrate-user, first tell me have you done any ultrasound till now. If not I suggest you to immediately go for one ultrasound. Minimal three ultrasound are required in a normal pregnancy. Sometimes there are few complications in a pregnancy, which need to diagnosed before time so tha appropriate management can be started. So I advise you to go for ultrasound immediately if not done before. Do nt wait.

Hello doctor Yesterday was my 6th week and day 5 of pregnancy. I did early ultrasound and it says gestational Sach was clearly seen. Fetal pole is clearly seen in the GS. And yolk Sac is clearly appears. But Fetal cardiac activities is not yet visualised. I am very worried as of now. Doctor told me to follow up after a week. Can you please let me know something about this. Is this normal or what are the chances. Is there any hope.

MD - Radio Diagnosis/Radiology

Hii lybrate-user, you need not to worry at all, cardiac activity usually seen at 6 weeks +/- 1 week. So this is most of the times normal you just go through your scan after one week gest sac and yolk sac are normal, so cardiac activity vil b seen after one week.

I have a stone on both kidney. After doing ultrasound it showed multiple calculi of maximum 5 mm. Please suggest which medicine to take.

MD - Radio Diagnosis/Radiology
Radiologist, Jammu
Hii, 5 mm stones are not of big size, if there is no pain or any other symptoms, I suggest you to drink 5-6 litres water daily, this vil remove your stones regularly and help in further formation, make it a habit to drink 5-6 litre water daily In case of pain, take some pain killer.

I have slip disc problem in l4 n l5. Is it possible to get relief with problem by exercise only. I have this problem from last 5 years. My age is 30 years.

MD - Radio Diagnosis/Radiology
Radiologist, Jammu
Hi, definitely you be benefitted by exercise of lower back, avoid unnecessary postures, keep your back straight while studying better to keep a pillow to support your back, avoid lifting heavy objects, medications are only required when you have severe pain and surgery is only required in cases of severe pain radiating to limbs with major weakness of limbs.
