My girlfriend has pain in her vagina from last 2 days and in her belly she does’t know why which medicine should be given to her.

Dear user. I can understand. Women can experience VAGINAL PAIN during or after sex, either in the vagina or deeper in the pelvis. Pain in the vagina could be caused by: an infection: thrush or a sexually transmitted infection (STI), such as chlamydia, gonorrhoea or genital herpes. Changing hormone levels can make your vagina dry. Lack of foreplay and other factors can make your vagina dry. All these factors could contribute to the pain. I suggest you to consult a gynecologist for physical investigation. Take care.

For pcos it is important to reduce weight and have good diet plan. You need to have your ovulation study as well when you are taking such kind of medicines.

2 Nd and 4th day of the period are generally safest days and chances of pregnancy are quite remote but always remember safe period is never safe. do please take precautions.

I am 38 years ,I have a lump in my left breast since last 12 years. Sometimes it's paining also. I have two daughters also and breastfeed them also, then also lump is as it is. So please advise treatment or any test.

MBBS, DGO, FGO

If the lump is not increasing in size for the last 12 years, chances are that it should be a simple one, still get it removed and also have its histopathology done

Possible Causes of Heavy Menstrual Bleeding

MRCOG, MD - Obstetrics & Gynaecology, DNB (Obstetrics and Gynecology), MBBS
IVF Specialist, Delhi
Possible Causes of Heavy Menstrual Bleeding

Heavy menstrual bleeding, technically called menorrhagia, is one of the most common types of abnormal bleeding from the uterus. Menstrual bleeding is said to be heavy if there is so much blood that a tampon or pad remains soaked for several hours.

Here are all the possible causes of heavy menstrual bleeding:

  1. Hormonal imbalance: Estrogen and progesterone levels are the primary control mechanism for periods. If the ovaries have a problem in functioning, hormonal imbalances may occur. Heavy menstrual bleeding is most common in females who are at the start of menopause. Puberty menorrhagia can occur in adolescents who are experiencing their first menstrual period.
  2. Fibroids: Fibroids most commonly occur around the age when women can get pregnant. Uterine fibroids are non-cancerous growth on the uterus.
  3. Ectopic pregnancy: An ectopic pregnancy is when a fertilized egg stays in the fallopian tube, but does not reach the uterus.
  4. Blood thinners: These are medicines, which are usually anticoagulant or antiplatelet drugs.
  5. Problems with IUD: A non-hormonal intrauterine device is a T-shaped device used for birth control which is inserted into the uterus.
  6. Adenomyosis: This is a condition in which the muscular wall of the uterus also gets the lining of the uterus intermingled with it. However, this condition is rare and only happens in middle aged women with several children.
  7. PID: PID stands for Pelvic Inflammatory Disease and refers to any infection within the organs of the reproductive system.
  8. Cancer: Uterine, ovarian and cervical cancer are just some of the cancers, which may cause heavy menstrual bleeding.
  9. Other diseases: Liver, kidney and thyroid diseases are all included.

Restore Your Inner Health With Ayurveda!

Your inner health and its link to the heart and Ojas: According to Ayurveda, the heart is believed to be the seat of the ‘Ojas.’ You might be wondering that what Ojas is then. Well, Ojas is a term given to the substance that maintains life. It is responsible for maintaining the bliss and longevity of life. Ayurveda believes that heart can be protected by increasing the ojas. Therefore, the well-being of an individual is directly related to the ojas and condition of his or her heart.

Your inner health can only be improved by maintaining the health of the heart and ojas. Ayurveda suggests that heart can be well kept by boosting fat metabolism and digestion within the body. Therefore, a mixture of herbs is recommended to keep the heart healthy by nourishing the blood, and improving the functioning of heart muscles. Individuals who lead a sedentary life and live on fast-food diet are at risk of developing severe cardiovascular diseases. Ayurvedic treatments offer relief to such persons and ensure the well-being of their hearts and ojas. An authentic Ayurvedic herb mixture improves the health of your heart and inner-health in the following ways:

  1. It increases the ojas and the power of fighting back diseases
  2. Nourishes the muscles and tissues of the heart walls
  3. Improves circulation of the blood through all channels or the shrotas
  4. Betters the coordination between mind and body
  5. Enhances fat metabolism and overall digestion, avoids accumulation of excess cholesterol

Tips for good inner health

  1. Maintain a healthy lifestyle by getting an adequate amount of night sleep. Go to bed early and wake up early too.
  2. Don’t spend long hours in watching television or work till late night
  3. Be happy. Happiness is the ultimate medicine for the good heart.
  4. Eat a lot of fresh and green-leafy vegetables daily.
  5. Avoid the intake of spicy, oily and fast foods.
  6. While eating, ensure that the atmosphere around is absolutely peaceful and serene.
  7. Consume home-cooked food only. Avoid eating out at restaurants or street-side joints.
  8. Don’t drink excess coffee, tea or aerated drinks.
  9. Don’t consume alcohol or smoke up cigarettes. Intake of raw tobacco or getting addicted to drugs is also harmful for the heart.
  10. Don’t live a sedentary life and be a couch potato. Work-out and exercise on regular basis.
  11. Avoid emotional outburst and try to keep a control over your reactions.
  12. Maintain a peaceful environment inside your home.
  13. Avoid eating pungent food items. They increase anger in you.
  14. Avoid excessive stressful and emotionally draining works or interactions.
  15. If you are stressed, take an Ayurvedic massage with herbal oils.
  16. Go for meditation to relieve yourself from the stress and strains of life. If you wish to discuss about any specific problem, you can consult an Ayurveda.

Love Chewing Gum? 7 Reasons Why You Must Not!

Love Chewing Gum? 7 Reasons Why You Must Not!

Do you love chewing gum? You love popping it and get a kick when chewing gum with friends. You think it’s a style statement and a cool thing to do. Above all, you think it’s only for fun and is harmless! Well, this article may be an eye opener for you. Here are some facts about chewing gum that can change your thinking.

  1. Chewing gum has been a favourite snack for millions of people, especially children and adolescents. Besides the sweetness, people like it for its flavour. Many people also use it as a replacement for a food craving. One fact that refrained many from consuming chewing gums was that it was loaded with sugar. However, with ever-growing awareness about consumption of sweetened products, the companies have now started offering sugar-free gum to health-conscious people which are made using artificial sweeteners.
  2. The artificial sweetener most commonly used in chewing gums is aspartame whose components metabolizes into wood alcohol and formaldehyde in the body. Both have carcinogenic properties and the body is unable to eliminate them through normal waste. These have been linked to cancers, birth defects and weight gain.
  3. Some tooth whitening gums contain an ingredient called Titanium Dioxide. This gives the chewing gum its glossy white color. It is a dangerous compound linked to many disorders including auto immune disorders, crohn’s disease, asthma and cancer.
  4. Gastrointestinal problems are quite common among chewing gum consumers. The symptoms include pain and cramps in abdomen, indigestion and diarrhea. Irritable bowel syndrome has been found to be associated with chewing gum eaters as chewing gum can lead to swallowing of excess air and changing of bowel habits.
  5. Dentists strongly recommend staying away from chewing gum habit, as it can be a cause of tooth decay. Chewing gum may also release mercury from Dental fillings into the system causing host of problems.
  6. Recent research has established a link between eating chewing gum and headache and migraines. It is believed that chewing gum puts an undue pressure on temporomandibular joint causing headaches. It can also lead to pain and lack of mobility in the jaw, causing an inability to chew meals. This is called temporomandibular joint disorder and is commonly found among chewing gum lovers.
  7. A chewing gum base is made from a combination of chemicals and non-edible substances. We generally chew it for flavour and throw the rest. However, the compounds do get stuck to the linings of the mouth and enter our system. A chewing gum adds no nutritive value and diminishes a person’s ability to chew and eat normally. For its far-reaching side effects, this habit is a big no to keep. Stay safe! If you wish to discuss about any specific problem, you can consult a doctor and ask a free question.

I had sex 3 days back. And I took i-pill on my third day. I doubt that a single drop of sperm went inside. Is there any chance of getting pregnant. Also I am on my third day of periods.

MD-Ayurveda, Bachelor of Ayurveda, Medicine and Surgery (BAMS)

Hello- A single drop of semen is sufficient enough to cause a pregnancy. So do not take chance and confirm it at home by Urine Pregnancy Test kit if your periods delay by more thn ten days.
