DHMS (Diploma in Homeopathic Medicine and Surgery)

I have white spots on my face.
I have tried consulting many doctors with various medicines but it was of no use. Plea...
White spots on can occur due to a number of reasons, of which conditions can be mild or severe. The condition can be mild or severe, and generally covers the majority of the skin on a particular area of the body. They may also cause irritation or itching. The occurrence of whites on the face can be extremely distressing. People affected with this problem should obtain medical advice to diagnose what is causing the condition and the suitable treatment. Causes of White Spots White spots on the face occur for various reasons. Understanding some of these reasons may be beneficial in treating the condition. Furthermore, understanding the cause can also help people avoid certain circumstances that increase the risk. 1. Tinea Versicolor This is a chronic fungal infection of the skin. Also known as pityriasisversicolor, this fungus causes discolored patches on the skin as it interferes with the normal pigmentation. The color of the patches may be darker or lighter than the surrounding skin and most often, affects the back and trunk of adolescent males. Exposure to sunlight, hot, humid weather, oily skin and excessive sweating may aggravate the condition. 2. Vitiligo This is a skin condition that results in the loss of melanocyte pigmentation of the skin. This results in white patches that feel as if it is part of the skin. The cause of vitiligo is unclear although it is believed to be an autoimmune disease. However, mild trauma to any area of the skin including the face can also result in the development of vitiligo. Vitiligo can affect the face, hands and feet, elbows and genital area. 3. Idiopathic Guttate Hypomelanosis White spots on the face may also be due to Idiopathic Guttate Hypomelanosis, a skin condition resulting in 2 to 5 mm flat, white spots commonly found on the shins and forearms. This skin condition mostly affects fair skinned people, although it may occur in dark skinned individuals too. The white spots may occur more commonly in people over the age of 40. 4. Pityriasis Alba This skin condition is common in children aged 6 to 12. It is a rash that appears on the face, neck and arms, and is not easily differentiated between normal skin. The rash may be covered with skin flakes resembling light dust. The cause of Pityriasis Alba is not known and is often considered as a form of eczema. This condition is often mistaken with vitiligo. However, while vitiligo has a distinct border, Pityriasis Alba does not. Treatments for White Spots on Face The medical treatment for white spots depends entirely on the root cause that underlies the condition. There are certain things that you can try to accelerate the process of treatment . Some of these mentioned treatments are professional while others are home remedies. Home Remedies .  For treating vitiligo, consumption of ginger juice is recommended as it promotes blood flow. neem seed oil applied to the affected area will also bring beneficial results.  Idiopathic Guttate Hypomelanosis may not require treatment as it is harmless. However, topical steroids and retinoids may help treat the condition.  Treatment for Pityriasis Alba may not be necessary although the application of a moisturizer or hydrocortisone creams may help the disappearance of these patches.  Washing the face with mild soaps and exfoliating the skin at least twice a week with a honey, rice, turmeric and sandalwood powder paste can treat Tinea Versicolor. So identify your problem of white spots with the help of your local doctor so that appropriate treatment is given or send me your picture depicting those white spot along with the complete hitory of your spots,so that I am clear in making a diagnosis.

In order to support optimal testosterone levels, one’s diet must be balanced and consist of ample amounts of vitamins and minerals specifically from the B vitamins, vitamin c, zinc and manganese. ADD THESE FOODS: Beverages - Get ready to start drinking a lot of water. Invest in filtered water and avoid tap water if you know your local supply water comes from poor sources. Also, drink 2-3 cups of green tea a day for its high antioxidant profile and more than a handful of health reasons. Chuck the killer fruit juices and soda! Boneless chicken breasts – if your budget permits, aim for free-range chickens (organically raised) as the most superior choice. If you can not afford these regularly than go for the grain-fed, store-bought type because they carry minimal body fat. Cooking spray - only buy the ones made from olive oil or Mustard oil. Dried fruit - this is a great source of easy calories. Just a small handful of some dried fruit has the same amount of calories as a large apple. If you’re trying to gain weight, then dried fruit can work to your advantage. Just don’t eat the extra sweetened ones loaded with hydrogenated oils as an additive. Eggs - Omega 3 eggs should always be chosen because they are laid by chickens that were fed a diet rich in ground flaxseed. Fruit - Always go for an assortment of colors and make sure your fridge is always stocked with fresh fruit. Always aim to shop for seasonal fruits from a quality perspective and cost perspective. If you can, go for local and organically grown produce. Examples are apples, grapes, bananas, kiwi, papaya, guava, Pears, strawberries, mango, oranges, Kinoo, and pineapple. Extra virgin olive oil - 100% dark extra virgin olive oil is loaded with antioxidants, is an easy source of calories and can be used with salads and sauces. Use very MINIMAL amounts for cooking. Green tea - go for the one without any extra flavoring or fillers. An organic green tea without any extra herbs is the best. You can add a teaspoon of honey later on to improve the taste and reap some additional benefits of Honey.

Insomnia - 10 Homeopathic Remedies That Will Help You!

Insomnia is a sleeping disorder, where an affected person suffers from sleeplessness and is unable to fall asleep or remain asleep for a long time which is required to stay healthy. Insomnia affects the functioning of the body and increases pain sensitivity of the body.

Insomnia has many cures and treatment options. Homeopathy is considered to be an important and very efficient form of medication, which treats insomnia and related sleeping disorders. Homeopathy eliminates the cause of insomnia from the roots, and both the disorders and symptoms are cured.

Here are some common homeopathic medicines, which are used to treat insomnia, along with the symptoms when they are prescribed for use:

  1. Arnica: It is used to ease patients when they overwork physically, and is also useful tor treating insomnia caused due to jet lag.
  2. Aconite: Aconite cures acute cases of insomnia, which results because of fear, shock, paranoia, grief or due to some bad news. Anxiety, tension and restlessness also cause insomnia, which is cured by aconite.
  3. Arsenicum album: This homeopathic remedy treats insomnia where a patient feels sleepy during the daytime, but cannot sleep at night. Restlessness and having bad dreams are observed.
  4. Calcarea phosphoric: This medicine treats insomniac patients who experience difficulty in waking up in the morning. The patient becomes anxious, restless and gets irritated easily and tends to avoid daily routine.
  5. Causticum: Causticum is used in cases of insomnia where bed wetting is likely by the patient, especially during the first phase of the night. The patient develops a fear of the dark and a strong sense of justice.
  6. Chamomilla: Used in cases of sleeplessness in babies where teething, anger or colics cause disruption in sleep. The eyes do not close completely during sleep, and the patient moans. It is also used in grown-ups who are irritable and peevish and experience fearful dreams.
  7. Cocculus: Cocculus cures insomnia, which occurs due to over exhaustion and over strain. It prevails in people who work during night shifts and need to spend sleepless nights due to work.
  8. Coffee: This homeopathic remedy is derived from coffee beans and provides relaxation to insomniac people. When a person gets over excited and is kept awake because of constant thoughts, coffee can calm that person and make him fall asleep.
  9. Equisetum: This homeopathic medicine cures insomnia where the patient wets the bed while dreaming. This happens due to immature nervous functioning.
  10. Ignatia: Ignatia treats insomnia occurring from extreme shock, grief or emotional stress. The patient becomes very moody, jerks his limbs during sleep and experiences disturbing dreams.

Homeopathy is an ideal treatment for insomnia or sleeplessness. Being natural, it works very efficiently without any side effects. If you wish to discuss about any specific problem, you can consult a Homeopath.

Hair Fall- How To Get Rid of It?

MD - Dermatology , Venereology & Leprosy, MBBS
Dermatologist, Delhi
Hair Fall- How To Get Rid of It?

There is probably no person who doesn’t lose some hair every day. In fact, losing about 100 hair in a day is considered normal. But if there is a problem of hair loss running in your family, you are vulnerable to lose even more hair. And it can lead to bald patches and spots in a short time. Approximately, half of all individuals suffer from this type of hair loss by the time they reach 50.

What are the causes of hair fall?

Although it has been speculated that hair loss is quite common, it could be a difficult thing to live with, particularly because it alters the way a person looks. Some of the most common causes of hair fall include:

Family history: hair fall is often inherited, indicating that it passes down from one generation to another. This is termed as female-pattern or male-pattern hair loss.
Stress: the present work culture exposes all people to a lot of mental stress. Hair fall can also be caused by physical stress stemming from some ailment, high fever, and surgeries.
Chemotherapy: a powerful medication destroying cancer cells, chemotherapy is also known to wreak havoc on hair.
Wearing away: hair damage can be caused by pulling back the hair, braiding it too tightly, making tight ponytails or by using too much of hair dryer, hair iron or hair straightener.
Iron deficiency: hair loss would be inevitable if one does not maintain a proper diet, particularly if it lacks protein and iron.
Hair diseases: hair disorders like ringworm, atopic dermatitis, psoriasis and other conditions can lead to loss of hair.
Thyroid: both hypothyroidism and hyperthyroidism are known to cause hair fall.

How is hair fall treated?

If you have hair loss and you are looking forward to treating it, then your hair loss treatment would depend on the type of hair loss you are suffering from.
If hair loss is induced by some ailment that can be treated or is not going to last long, then your hair would grow back in some time. For instance, if hair fall is caused by thyroid conditions, then administering thyroid medications can help.
When your hair loss is caused by stress or any underlying medical condition or any medication, then you should try to alleviate it in order to notice desirable improvements.
In case the hair fall is triggered by some hair disorders, it is important to consult a dermatologist for comprehensive treatment solutions.

PRP for hair fall

PRP or platelet rich plasma is a very effective treatment for hair loss. It involves drawing out the blood from the patient’s body which is already rich in blood platelets. This blood is then concentrated to extract enriched blood platelets in the form of a serum. This serum is then injected into the scalp. Prp treatment can even be combined with hair transplant surgery, medication and micro needling to enhance their effectiveness.

Advantages of prp treatment for hair fall-

  • It is a non-surgical procedure so you don’t have to be sedated with anesthesia.
  • It is a short duration procedure as prp procedure lasts for 60 to 90 minutes.
  • It is extremely reliable, safe and authentic.
  • Time taken for recovery is very short. You will see noticeable results in less than a week after this procedure while getting to see marked improvements over the course for the next few weeks and months.
  • Hair loss is controlled doesn’t recur after this procedure while the result looks very natural.

Non-eligibility for a prp treatment

  • If you are suffering from malignancies or blood-borne diseases you should not go in for a prp treatment.
  • If you have a current infection you might not be able to sit for a prp hair treatment.
  • Patients suffering from cerebral palsy and parkinson’s disease are not eligible for a prp treatment.
  • If you are currently pregnant or anemic, you shouldn’t opt for a prp treatment.
  • If you are currently suffering from any form of skin diseases you shouldn’t opt for prp treatments either.

If you wish to discuss about any specific problem, you can consult a Dermatologist.
