Dear do not worry chickenpox spots are not permenant. It takes 1to 2 months to disappear them naturally. You can use mellalite-15 ointment twice daily. Momtas ointment apply at night. Consult me after 15 days.

Go spotless: 6 home remedies to reduce dark spots naturally

Dark spots also known as hyperpigmentation is a common and usually harmless condition in which patches of skin become darker in color than the normal surrounding skin. It is caused due to excessive melanin production by the skin cells. It is the most common sign of skin damage and can affect anyone irrespective of race or age. Common causes include sun exposure without sunscreen, stress, hormonal changes due to pregnancy, menopause and birth control pills.

Can hyperpigmentation be reduced naturally?

Yes, there are some effective natural remedies that can help in reducing the appearance of dark spots over time. Some of these useful home remedies to reduce hyperpigmentation are:

1. Aloe vera

Gently apply aloe vera juice on the affected area. Leave it on for 15 minutes. Wash it off with warm water. Aloe vera contains mucilaginous polysaccharides that can effectively lighten dark spots.

2. Orange peel

Grate an orange peel and make a paste/gel with few teaspoons of raw milk. Leave it on for half an hour and then massage gently and wash it off with warm water. Exfoliate your face at least 3 to 4 times a week with this paste. Exfoliation encourages cell renewal removing the dark blotches.

3. Turmeric

Make a paste of 5 tablespoons of turmeric powder and 10 tablespoons of milk and apply it all over your face. Gently massage your face and wash it off with warm water after 20 minutes.

4. Potato

Potatoes are well known to remove skin pigmentation, dark spots and blemishes. Rub gently a freshly cut slice of potato on the affected areas of your skin every day. Alternatively, mix potato juice with fuller earth and apply this daily to remove pigmentation.

5. Apple cider vinegar

Apple cider vinegar helps a lot in reducing the appearance of dark patches on the skin due to hyperpigmentation. It has excellent skin lightening properties that can help in restoring the skin's natural color. Mix equal amounts of apple cider vinegar and water. Use this solution to rinse the affected area. Leave it on for two to three minutes, and then rinse it off with lukewarm water. Follow this remedy twice a day for a few weeks.

6. Tomato

Tomato acts as natural bleaching agent. Yogurt also works as natural bleach and has skin tightening properties. Oatmeal works as a natural scrubber. Make a mixture of tomato oatmeal and yogurt and apply it on your face. Leave it for 15-20 minutes and massage your skin gently in-between. Wash off with cold water you can do this treatment twice a week for best results.

How can hyperpigmentation be prevented?

You can prevent the appearance of dark spots by following these basic tips:

-use sunscreen with spf 30 and above, before going out in the sun. If you stay outdoors for more than 3-4 hours, reapply your sunscreen

-increase intake of food rich in vitamin a and antioxidants. Vegetables like spinach, carrots, lettuce, broccoli, red bell peppers, sweet potato to help reduce and prevent pigmentation.

-increase intake of citrus fruits, the vitamin c helps reduce damage caused by harmful uv rays, reduces dark spots and maintains skin health.

-increase consumption of dairy, eggs, liver and mutton for a boost of vitamin b12.

-vegans or vegetarians can get a vitamin supplement from a physician. Deficiency of vitamin b12 is a common cause for skin pigmentation, and meeting your daily requirement can prevent pigmentation.

-drink plenty of water to make your skin supple and to get rid of toxins. You should be drinking 2-3 liters of fluids in summer.

Sexual health is an often neglected area in India, due to the topic of sex being a taboo. 4. Ginger

Ginger stimulates blood circulation to the pelvic area and also boosts energy levels. Mix half teaspoon of grated or chopped ginger with honey and have it.

5. Shatavari

This one is more suitable for women though it has some effect on men also. It is a calming tonic that regulates the female hormones. You can boil the crushed roots on medium flame and drink the water or you can use the powdered form (3-6 gm) gradually moving towards a higher dose.

6. Kaunchbeej

Known is English as mucuna pruriens, is one of the rare natural sources of powerful hormonally active compounds that can affect mood and mind. It stimulates the production of growth hormones, energizes the muscles and raises sex-drive in both men and women.

Summers open the doors to shorts, ice creams, cool drinks, and swims. But while having all the fun, don't forget to take care of the largest organ of your body and that is your skin. Due to the strong and harsh rays of the sun during summers, we need to take special care of our skin which gets exposed to plenty of sun especially in a tropical country like India.

So, here are some essential skin care tips you must follow to ensure healthily and glowing skin this summer season:

1. Stay hydrated

Due to excessive water loss from the body through sweating, you need to drink plenty of water to keep your skin hydrated. Drink at least 15-20 glasses of plain water each day.

2. Wear sunscreen

Choose a sunscreen with SPF 40 or above and apply it on your skin 20-30 minutes before your skin is exposed to the sun. This helps in protecting your skin against harmful UV rays which can potentially cause skin cancer.

3. Use a protective gear

You should invest in a good pair of sunglasses, a hat or an umbrella as these provide further protection for your skin from the strong and harmful rays of the sun.

4. Wear minimal makeup

Try and use minimal make-up that is mineral-based instead of cream-based. Wearing heavy make-up during summer causes sweating and may clog your pores.

5. Clean your face often

Clean your face twice a day with a face wash. In addition, you can clean your face with plain water up to five times a day in case your work requires you to stay outdoors for long hours.

6. Go for exfoliation

While face wash can clean the face up to an extent, it is important to also use an exfoliating scrub on your face at least 3 times a week since all the sweat, oil and dirt clogs pores. A natural home-made scrub of curd, besan and honey soothes and cleanses the skin and can be used on the entire body.

7. Use a toner

You can go for a natural one (e. G. A mix of aloe-vera juice and rose water) or buy one from the market. In summers, toning your skin is very important since natural skin oils are secreted that may clog pores and cause acne.

8. Avoid peak sunshine

Avoid going out between 11 am to 4 pm if possible since the rays of the sun are harshest during that time and can damage your skin.

9. Remove tan

In case, your skin gets tanned in the summer, use simple home-made packs made of sandalwood powder, lemon juice, cucumber juice, tomato juice to remove tan and also give you a glowing skin.

10. Eat fresh

Eat as much fresh fruits and vegetables as possible and avoid oily foods. Swap caffeine and alcohol for fresh lime juice and other fruit juices.

8 natural remedies to get rid of under eye dark circles

Dark circles under your eyes can be a result of lack of sleep, depression, stress, aging, dry skin or hereditary problems.

People often ignore dark circles and try to conceal them under layers of make-up but that is not the real solution. The commercially available creams that calm to reduce dark circles are expensive and the results are not that great.

So, here are some easy home remedies that can help you get rid of dark cycles naturally:

1. Almond oil

Almond oil is very beneficial for the delicate skin around your eyes. Regular usage of almond oil will help fade your under eye circles.

How to use: before going to bed, apply a little almond oil over the dark circles and gently massage it into the skin. Leave it on overnight. Wash it off with cold water the next morning.

2. Cucumber

Cucumbers have skin-lightening and astringent properties that help fix those raccoon eyes naturally.

How to use: cut a fresh cucumber into thick slices and chill them in the refrigerator for 30 minutes. Put the slices onto the affected skin area for about 10 minutes. Wash the area with water. Use twice daily for about a week to see results.

3. Raw potato

There are natural bleaching agents present in potato that can help lighten dark circles and get rid of puffiness around the eyes.

How to use: grate one or two raw potatoes to extract the juice. Soak a cotton ball in the juice and place it over your closed eyes. Make sure the juice covers the dark circles under your eyes as well as the eyelids. Leave it for 10 to 15 minutes. Rinse your eyelids well with cool water. Repeat once or twice daily for a few weeks.

4. Rose water

Rose water is an incredible ingredient for skin care. It rejuvenates the skin and has a soothing effect on tired eyes. Due to its mild astringent properties, it also works as a great skin toner.

How to use: soak cotton eye pads in pure rose water for a few minutes. Put the soaked pads on your closed eyelids. Leave them on for about 15 minutes. Follow this remedy twice daily for a few weeks.

5. Tomato

Tomatoes have bleaching properties that can lighten skin to a great extent. They are rich in vitamin c and lycopene that are excellent for healthy skin

How to use: mix one teaspoon of tomato juice with a one-half teaspoon of lemon juice. Gently apply this mixture on the dark circles and leave it for 10 minutes. Rinse it off with water. Follow this remedy twice a day for a few weeks. Simply using tomato juice will also work. Alternatively, you can also drink a glass of tomato juice with some mint leaves, lemon juice, and salt twice a week for best results.

6. Lemon juice

The vitamin c present in lemon juice can also help remove dark circles under the eyes due to its skin-lightening properties.

How to use: use a cotton ball to apply fresh lemon juice around your eyes. Leave it on for about 10 minutes and rinse it off. Do this once daily for a few weeks.

7. Coconut oil

Due to its moisturizing quality, coconut oil also promotes smooth skin and prevents wrinkles and fine lines under eyes.

How to use: massaging with coconut oil is an effective natural remedy to lighten dark circles

8. Tea bags

The caffeine and antioxidants present in tea can be highly beneficial for getting rid of dark circles as well as puffiness under eyes. The tannins, in particular, help decrease swelling and discoloration.

How to use: chill two used green or black tea bags in the refrigerator for about half an hour. Place one tea bag over each eye and leave it on for 10 to 15 minutes. Remove the tea bags and wash your face. Repeat once or twice daily for a few weeks. Be careful not to get the tea in your eyes.

Dear lybrate-user, yes I agree that overeating makes you drowsy & sleepy. But I have seen some people with normal diet and still feels sleepy lot of times. I will advise you to do thyroid function test. Take proper sound sleep at night. Kee yourself busy whole day so that you will be continuously engaged in some activity. Most of the times it becomes habit and you have to overcome that. I will suggest you to take cap stresscom twice daily for 15 days. Don't again start overeating.

Dear lybrate-user don't worry at all. Use pear's oil clear soap for face. Wash your face at least thrice daily. T. Laz 500mg twice daily, t. Sumoflam twice daily for 5 days. Apply face-clean gel on pimples twice daily. Apply retino-a ointment at night.

Dear madhav both are good for face but what you should use depends on type of your skin - dry or oily. For oily skin use garnier's mens oil clear face wash & for dry skin use dewderma soap.

Dear lybrate cut marks on your wrist may be due to old wounds. Actually once the scarring occurs, the marks remain for lifetime. Recently one cream is introduced for scar marks - opexa cream (ajanta pharmaceuticals) you can apply it twice daily for 10 days & let me know what happens in 10 days after that I can suggest you some more remedies.

Lybrate-user I think your weight as per age & height is ok, you need not to worry bcoz once you start gaining weight it will be very difficult to loose again. It is always better underweight to avoid other problems.

Ideally considering your height & age your weight should be around 63kg. You are little more, you can reduce it by proper diet planning & exercise.

Don't use skin lightening cream any more. After few days the effects cream will disappear & again both halves of face will match.

Is aloe vera better to be applied on face everyday to remove chicken pox scars as I was having pox last three days. Or any other diet or suggestion which will remove these black marks from my face without harm.

Lybrate-user actually chicken pox spots fades away naturally but it takes about one month. I don't think there is any role of allo-vera, you can apply calapure lotion twice daily to affected area & after few weeks spots will go, don't worry much.
