Please consume at least two glasses of water in empty stomach as soon as you wake up. Avoid spicy oily foods, coffee, tea in empty stomach. No heavy foods for dinner. Please do not go to bed immediately after meals. Consuming warm water after every meal would be of great help. Please quit smoking or consuming alcohol if you are in a habit of doing so. Please avoid citrus fruits.

Avoid tea/coffee alcohol, smoking spicy food. Life style changes and food habbits can solve your problem easily. Chew your food properly. Avoid outside food. Walk about 3-5 kms daily. There should be gap of 2hrs after dinner and sleep. Small and frequent meals is of help. Keep your blood sugar controlled. Raise your bed about 4" from headend side. Get your gastroendoscopy done. Edit.

If there is any history of injury it could be due to fracture rib and you have to take xray chest to exclude fracture. If no history of injury,it could be due to myalgia chest. Common Causes Of Stomach Problems

MBBS
General Physician, Chandigarh
Common Causes Of Stomach Problems

Stomach problems are one of the most common issues you face. Irrespective of what your age is, it is highly likely that you have an upset stomach once in while. A stomach upset has a distinguishable characteristic -  that stomach linings as well as the small and large intestines tend to swell. This is called inflammation. The following are the most common causes of an upset stomach.

1. Viruses
Viruses are the most common causes of an upset stomach. It is highly likely that your stomach upset is because of a virus since there are so many types of them.

2. Parasites or bacteria like Salmonella and Escherichia coli
This is also a very common cause of stomach upset. Salmonella infections are usually caused by eating raw eggs, meat and meat products whereas Escherichia coli infections come from raw vegetables as well as milk and dairy products.

3. Allergic reactions
These happen very specifically to people who have a reaction to a certain type of food.

4. Excess alcohol
Most people think that alcohol will only make you pass out or get liver cirrhosis. Many people do not know that alcohol can actually adversely affect your stomach as well.

5. Excess caffeine
Caffeine is also dangerous to your stomach as taking too much of it can cause a stomach upset.

6. Fatty foods
Fatty foods such as cheese, dark chocolates, whole eggs, fatty fish, etc. are dangerous because they are harder to digest than many other types of food. This means that eating even a small amount of fatty foods are enough to cause a stomach upset sometimes.

7. Eating too much
This is also a major cause of stomach upset simply because your stomach can only digest a certain amount of food.

You must also be able to distinguish when you have a stomach infection and when you have Chron's disease as it is basically a chronic stomach upset. Chron's disease causes the whole digestive tract to be inflamed.

Get an Ultrasound of the Abdomen done (since the above symptoms can also be due to a Gall bladder stone). If the Ultrasound is normal then you can start taking some Antacids or PPIs. Avoid tea, coffee, food with high sugar content and oily/Spicy food. Start taking small frequent meals instead of sticking to a routine of 2-3 meals per day. If the above things don't solve your peoblem problem then you might need to get an Endoscopy done.

Hello Mr. lybrate-user, you are overweight and need to reduce it. Do brisk walk and exercise. Avoid tea, spicy and fatty meal. Acid suppression medications may help for a while. If symptoms does not improve over few days, get yourself checked my Gastroenterologist. I hope these symptoms are not related to exertions or radiation to left arm. If same is present then ECG and cardiologist opinions is to be taken.

My uncle suffering from peptic ulcer so please suggest me what should I do for my uncle, i am in Very confusion please suggest me.

MD
General Physician, Delhi
Peptic ulcer develops due to imbalance between the defensive factors (mucus and bicarbonate) and aggressive factors (stomach acid). The drug treatment of peptic ulcer includes the use of proton pump inhibitors which are to be taken one hour before breakfast once daily for a period of 4-6 weeks. These drugs not only suppress the acid production but also promote the healing of the ulcer. If the peptic ulcer is caused by a bacteria helicobacter pylori, then you must take two weeks course of antibiotics (amoxycillin, clarithromycin, tinidazole) along with proton pump inhibitors. X 15 days you must avoid the following: alcohol, smoking, coffee, nsaid pain killers, stress, hot and spicy foods, etc.
