Hmm don't worry take muscle relaxant medicine and do heat fermentation twice a day with rest after 2 days start stretching exercise and strength exercise of legs other wise take physiotherapy treatment for immediate relief happy now.

Hello Doctor, I am 34 years old now, after my first delivery I got osteo otherwise problem in left hip joint and I was advised by the doctors for joint replacement operation but I didn't undergone for operation. But now I am planning to replace my hip joint, please advise if I go for this operation will I be able to walk as usual and how would be the condition after the operation will it be worst than before? Is this ok if I am not planning for hip joint replacement? Or Will it cause any major disability in future in my aging. Please advise and let me know any few example if you have seen in your career. Thanks.

Unless you have severe osteoarthritis then replacement at this age is not advisable for the following reasons - 1. The prosthesis does have a time limit and eventually it wears out (the longevity depends on the bearing surface used) and once it wears out then you will have pain and it would need revision surgery. The chances of a hip replacement done at an young age of 35 lasting for more than 7 - 10 years is very slim. Repeated revisions reduce the bone stock and also increases the complication rate. Do you have any xrays so that we can see for what problem you have been advised replacement. Unless we see the xrays we would not be able to comment appropriately.

Lybrate-user, back pain is very common in people who have a prolonged sitting job. Take care of yoir sitting posture. Use a back rest to support your back. Sit straight with placing pillows on the back of the chair. Use a chair that has a back support till the neck. Take frequent breaks to do some back stretching. Before going to bed apply some pain reliving gel/ oil followed by a hot pack to feel a little better for the next day.

Try to break after 20 mins drive and wear a lumbosacral belt during drive and apply hot fermentation for 10 mins at sleeping time.

Apply hot water bag and local volini gel. If no relief get an xray done. If pain relief you should do exercises like cycling.

Hi, I been suffering from severe lower back pain. MRI and X rays have been normal. Doctors keep telling about back strengthening exercise for 20 mins every day. I have severe pain. First thing when there is pain stop exercise take rest. Second there is a special exercise programme designed by us with considering the job, activity level, radiological change and complaints of the patient. It is very useful for the back. Yes you can cured permanently.

Sir I recently answered a question with similar complain. Yours seems to be forward neck posture, or you carry your bag on the affected shoulder. Kindly visit a Physiotherapist , and get your self treated in single sitting. It's a very small problem as far as description is available.

Apply hot fomentation twice daily. Avoid bending in front. Postural correction- sit tall, walk tall. Extension exercises x 15 times x twice daily. Bhujang asana. Core strengthening exercises. Back stretching. Do the cat/cow stretch.

If you are in stress - go for stress relief. Choose a place with more air circulation to sleep. Lie on your back - tighten every single muscle from your neck to toe (one by one) and allow it to relax - repeat it again. If possible go for swimming.

Yes obesity is a reason so reduce it. X-Ray of spine must. Do regular exercise Posture correction must. Do hot fomentations and stretching exercise.

Hi thanks for your query and welcome to lybrate. I am Dr. Akshay from fortis hospital, new delhi. You are very young to actually have persistent back pains. If you have localized back pain with no other symptoms like radiating leg pain, neurological symptoms like numbness, weakness, paresthesias etc, then you can start with following recommendations for initial period of 2-3 weeks: - to maintain proper posture of your back while working and sleeping - if pain is more then you can take a short course of an anti-inflammatory medication like tab etoshine or paracetamol or one which suits you - physical therapy initially under supervision of a trained physiotherapist and then to continue at home - adequate calcium & vitamin d intake if levels are low in body - ice packs can applied if your pain is acute, then hot fomentation can be done at home - analgesic spray for local application can be used and is easily available. - avoid lifting heavyweight/ acute forward bending in mornings etc we will observe you for next 2-3 weeks how you respond to this conservative management protocol. If you are not feeling better, then we will have to get some investigations like, dynamic x rays of lower back and few blood tests for evaluation. Do not hesitate to contact me if you need any further assistance. You can also discuss your case and treatment plans with me in a greater detail in a private consultation.

Kindly show me a photograph of the affected part. Rule out diabetes & vit. D deficiency or any other metabolic disorder. Sleep on a hard bed with soft bedding on it. Spring beds, folding beds or thick matress are harmful Do hot fomantation. Paracetamol 250mg od & sos x 5days. Caldikind plus 1tab od x10. Do neck, back & general exercises. It may have to be further investigated. You will need other supportive medicines also. Make sure you are not allergic to any of the medicines you are going to take. If it does not give relief in 1 wk, contact me again. Do not ignore. It could be beginning of a serious problem.

Do check your electrolytes zinc s. Alk. Phosphate vit d 3 and vit b 12 from nabl lab do take ust and laser therapy for pain relief for 10 days followed by strengthening exercise from neuro physiotherapist best wishes.

Hi it's good that you do warm up and cool down exercise. Just keep yourself hydrated, sip water before, during and after exercise. You can also keep check on calcium and vit. D levels.
