To develop muscles you need to have protein rich diet. You can have protein rich diet by including these things like - 1. Soybean and soy products- tofu, soy milk, roasted soybeans 2. Hummus 3. Spinach 4. Sun dried tomatoes 5 guava 6. Green peas 7 beans 8 lentils 9 peanut butter 10. Organic milk 11. Shelled pumpkin seeds 12 almonds 13 cashews 14- nutritional yeast - Nutritional yeast is a deactivated strain of Saccharomyces cerevisiae yeast, sold commercially as a yellow powder or flakes. It has a cheesy flavor, which makes it a popular ingredient in dishes like mashed potatoes and scrambled tofu. 15 sprouted grains 16 oats and oatmeals 17 sweet corn 18 Brown Rice. 19 Oranges. 20 Cottage Cheese 21 Eggs. Besides this- 1.Consumes additional calories: start consuming an additional calories. Even you have to consume more calories, don't go for junk food or any other bad item, stick to nutrient food. Hye, thanks for the query. Your weight is a balance of calories. Fad diets may promise you that counting carbs or eating a mountain of fruits will make the fats drop. But when it comes to weight loss, it's sensible eating that counts. Weight loss comes down to burning more calories than you take in. You can do that by reducing extra calories from food and beverages, and increasing calories burned through physical activity. Understand that weight /fat loss involves sensible eating. You have to eat the right foods at the right time. Eat small but frequent meals. Take smaller main meals. Take a glass of lime water 10minutes before meals. Avoid long gaps in between meals. Avoid junk as far as possible. Exercise at least 4 times a week. Lastly be committed.                        Remember it's a lifestyle change and not a one time thing.     All the so called fad, crash, restricted diets will only give you muscle and bone loss. The fats will remain as it is. So, don't forget the bottom line: The key to successful weight loss is a commitment to making indefinite changes in your diet and exercise habits.

Make This Diwali Healthier

Make diwali healthier: try these 6 healthy desserts!

Diwali is an ancient indian festival and the most awaited one at that. Be it bursting crackers, meeting relatives or savoring mouth-watering sweets, everyone has a special reason to make merry during diwali every state of india celebrates this festival of lights with its own special dessert recipes. In an attempt to avoid overindulgence, here are some healthy sweets and desserts that you can try this festive season:

1. Sesame seeds laddoo
- for a change, you can avoid the boondi laddoos this diwali and instead opt for sesame which is a rich source of calcium and magnesium.

- this laddoo is prepared by dry roasting the sesame seeds and then grinding them to a powdery texture along with sugar and cardamom powder.

- you can replace sugar with jaggery which is a healthier option too. Add roasted peanut chunks to the laddoos for a crunchy twist.

2. Pumpkin delight

- forget the calorie-rich kheer and choose pumpkin this season to add the extra fibre and goodness of vitamin a to your pumpkin payasam.

- you can make this dessert using all healthy ingredients like mashed pumpkin, milk, sago, cardamom powder and a pinch of saffron.

3. Ragi treat
- why not embrace ragi as your favorite cereal and make some mouth-watering delicacy out of it.

- ragi or finger millet is known for its high protein and mineral content.

- combine ragi with the grand flavors of saffron and cardamom, roasted peanuts and dried coconut and you can make some healthy and delicious barfi.

- add jaggery for the sweetness. You can easily replace the usual high calorie kaju barfis with this delicious treat.

4. Coconut macaroons

- some delicious macaroons can be baked with the healthiest ingredients like coconut, eggs, vanilla essence and sugar to taste and absolutely no oil content.

- once out of the oven, they have a hard texture and equally chewy feel from the inside.

- they make the best choice for an evening snack and are filled with goodness of coconut which help in digestion and also add a glow to your skin.

5. Date laddoos
dates (khajoor) are known for their iron content. Try to rope in the vitamins and minerals of dates to use them for ladoos instead of using besan (gram flour).

- in this recipe, dates are mashed till soft, heated in a pan with little coconut oil and then sesame powder is added to them while kneading them into a dough.

- add pieces of roasted cashew and cardamom powder to the kneaded dough for the flavor. When ready, roll them over sesame seeds for both the look and the taste.

- this is yet another treat for your sweet tooth without the harmful effects of either sugar or ghee (clarified butter)

6. Oats barfi

- when it comes to health, none can forget the ubiquitous oats. From breakfast to snacks, oats are the perfect choice for the health freak.

- this diwali make your favorite barfi with oats, anjeer (fig), dates, pistachios and flax seeds.

- use a little coconut oil in a pan and heat the mashed dates and coarsely ground roasted oats.

- add the other ingredients with a pinch of saffron and spread the dough it out in a flat dish.

- cut them into sizes you love and relish them with family.

Enjoy this diwali with your favorite sweets but without the sense of guilt with these exotic yet healthy recipes. Happy diwali!

Hello, The food what and how you eat, makes the difference! For increasing your weight, concentrate on the below points ( if you don’t have any medical condition) which helps in gaining weight in a right way without harming your body. - Consume more healthy fats. Foods containing healthy fats are full of nutrients and also high in calories, making them a great option for weight gain. Foods containing plant fats should be your first option - this includes items such as nuts, seeds, peanut butter, avocados and olive oil. Foods containing healthy animals fats include lean meats and full fat dairy products - although if you have high cholesterol, you should probably stick to low-fat options. -Eat more protein. Good sources of protein include lean meat, fish and poultry, in addition to eggs, whole grains, dairy products and legumes. -Drink more calories. Try drinking a large glass of orange juice in the mornings (along with your normal breakfast). Drink a glass or two of full-cream milk throughout the day.Protein shakes will help you to gain muscle mass, particularly if you're working out. -Have 6 small and frequent meals in a day. -Gain muscle mass. It's a good idea to continue to exercise while you attempt to gain weight the healthy way. Strength training includes working with weights and performing exercises such as squats, deadlifts, bench presses, bicep curls, crunches, chin-ups and leg curls. Just keep in mind that the more you exercise, the more calories you will need to consume to replace those you lost while working out. This is where protein shakes and bars really come in handy. -Quit smoking. As it suppresses the appetite. -Stay healthy. The most important thing through the entire weight gain process is to stay healthy - eating a balanced diet and continuing to exercise throughout. -Take enough of rest and sleep for rejuvenation of the cells and tissues. -Think Positive which will help you in achieving your target of gaining weight. -Avoid taking unnecessary stress/ tension. Medication: Take Schwabe’s Alfaalfa Tonic and Five Phos., both thrice daily ½ an hour before meals for 1month.

Dear Lybrate User, *Drinking a cup of hot water with 1 tsp of honey and 10 drops of apple cider vinegar is a wonderful way to start the day. Honey and apple cider vinegar have scraping effects and can help with reducing excess adipose tissue. *Eliminating alcohol, caffeine and smoking. There is abundant information on how many negative effects these substances induce in the body. They can alter the digestive fire and create cravings for unhealthy foods. *Reducing dairy and meats from the diet. These foods are heavy, gross and can lead to slow, sluggish digestion which will increase the same qualities in the body. Therefore one will have excess heaviness, lethargy and poor metabolism with overconsumption of these foods. *Consume the largest meal at lunch – when digestion is strongest and keep dinner a simple and light meal. *Incorporate ginger pickles and teas in the diet. Ginger is an effective herb for stimulating digestion and removing toxins from the body. It will also help to increase metabolism. *Reducing the cold element in the diet and incorporating more hot meals will also bring changes to health. *Fresh vegetables such as beets, broccoli, cabbage, carrots, celery, leafy greens, onions, garlic, peppers and sprouts will help increase the light element in the body. Fruits to favor include; berries, apples, pears, pomegranate, raisins, lemons, prunes and apricots. Generally heavier and sweet fruit and vegetables such as potatoes, cucumber, zucchini, bananas, coconuts, avocados, oranges, grapes and pineapples are best avoided.

Hello Mukesh , A particular problem which as yet is unrecognised by allopathy, homeopathy and other sciences of healing is the navel which 'moves'. If the navel has moved up, there is good chance of constipation, vomiting or feeling of nausea. If the movement is down then diarrhoea will exist. Whichever way it moves, there is always pain in the abdominal area which may extend into the back, buttocks, thighs and calves. Navel can be corrected with Yoga practice . Practice Shalabh Asana, Purna Shalabh Asana, Dhanur Asana, Boat Pose, Tada Asana and Matsy Asana to maintain the correct position of navel. Put a dari or a blanket on the floor. Take a plastic ball under your navel and lie over it for four five minutes. Then turn and get up to sit. After eating a fruit stand up.

Taking medicines or supplements will not work in isolation. You have to have a calorie and nutrient dense meal. They are supplements not a meal replacer. They will not work if they just replace your meals.

You have to follow healthy dietary habbits. Maintain a healthy weight, go for exercise. Avoid fried fatty food, junk food, preserved food. Sugar and salt intake should be moderate. Start taking 1 tsp Amla and 1 tsp alovera juice in a cup of water every early morning as it helps in detoxification of the liver and would help in better nutrient absorption. Do some physical activity. Follow healthy breakfast, have fruits, healthy lunch including high fibre like salads and veggies. Follow green tea twice a day. Follow light dinner. Drink plenty of water.
