There have some pain in my leg. I have taken many painkiller but it dose not work. What can I do.
: keep your leg raised while sitting or lying quadriceps strengthening exercises- quad clenches: lie flat on your back or sit upright on a chair with leg kept horizontally on another surface. Now, tighten the muscle on the front of the thigh by pushing your knee down. You should feel your thigh muscles clench, hold for 3 secs. Repeat 10 times twice a day. Short arcs: lie flat on your back or sit upright with your leg placed horizontally on a flat surface like a chair or bed. Place a rolled up towel under the knee. Pull your toes towards you and clench you thigh muscles. Slowly lift your foot up off the bed until your knee is straight (keep your knee resting on the towel). Hold for 3 secs and slowly lower them on the chair. Repeat 10 times twice a day. Straight leg raise: lie flat on your back. One leg and knee will be straight and other leg should be bent. Pull your toes towards you and tighten/clench the muscle on the front of the thigh, locking your knee straight. Lift your foot up in the air, about 6 inches off the bed. Hold for 3 secs and slowly lower the leg. The knee must remain straight the whole time you are doing this exercise.

Sleep on a hard bed with soft bedding on it. Spring beds, folding beds or thick matress are harmful use no pillow under the head. Do hot fomantation. Paracetamol 250mg od & sos x 5days. Caldikind plus 1tab od x10. Do neck, back knee & general exercises. It may have to be further investigated. Make sure you are not allergic to any of the medicines you are going to take. For emergency treatment contacts your nearest hospital or family doctor. If it doe s not give relief in 4-5days, contact me again. Why not discuss with me in a video conference?

Hi, I had some joint pains few days ago. So doctor advised me to test blood calcium uric acid and vitamin d 25_oh. The levels are 9. 8 mg/dl, 5. 5 mg/dl and 11. 6 ng/ml. What could be the reason for such deficiency of vitamin d. I take healthy diet and have a active lifestyle. Do I need some more investigation before starting vit d supplement.

Vit d deficiency is very common. 60, 000 units tablets are as effective as injection you have to take 1000mg calcium along with it. Have vit d test every 2-3 week until normal level is attained. Milk & milk products & green leafy vegetables are good source of calcium.

Hello lybrate user, pain above the ankle around the outer side of leg is common after fast running. It is due to spasm of a muscle called as tibialis anterior whose primary role is to pull the foot towards your body at the ankle joint. So after running this movement by the muscle is repeated vigorously causing it to go into spasm and later pain. Thank you.

It can be due to many causes. First of all check for you shoes whether it's sole is worn out. It can be also due to retrocalcaneal bursitis, in that case you need to be evaluated and modify your activity like brisk walk than jogging, warm saline soaks, silicon soles.

Hi thanks for your query and welcome to lybrate. I am Dr. Akshay from fortis hospital, new delhi. You are very young to have a persistent back pain as a health issue. If you have localized back pain with no other symptoms like radiating leg pain, neurological symptoms like numbness, weakness, paresthesias etc, then you can start with following recommendations for initial period of 2-3 weeks: - to maintain proper posture of your back while working and sleeping - if pain is more then you can take a short course of an anti-inflammatory medication like tab etoshine or paracetamol or one which suits you - physical therapy initially under supervision of a trained physiotherapist and then to continue at home - adequate calcium & vitamin d intake if levels are low in body - ice packs can applied if your pain is acute, then hot fomentation can be done at home - analgesic spray for local application can be used and is easily available. - avoid lifting heavyweight/ acute forward bending in mornings etc we will observe you for next 2-3 weeks how you respond to this conservative management protocol. If you are not feeling better, then we will have to get some investigations like dynamic x rays of lower back and few blood tests for evaluation. Hi, I'm suffering from a disease called sleeping warts on my whole face since last 7-8 years. I was consultant for the same with homeopathic, allopathic dermatologist doctors. But not satisfied till now. Dermatologists suggest me to apply Trunex & Retino-A 0.5% on my face and tablet levamisole (150mg) & Aquasol A 10D. These gel reduce my warts little bit but clear. The treatment you mentioned is correct. Warts are of several kindssome warts are due to infection and others are due to a metabolic condition like diabetes. I recommend you follow methods that enhance facial and hand hygiene and check your sugar levels. Get tested for fasting blood sugar or hba1c test. Continue above said treatment.
