Hi, I am 29 year old girl. I am suffering from the bad smell comes from my mouth, I use listrine mouthwash, & try to do brush twice a day. When I was a kid, I had pyaria, but now its fine. I consult a Dr. For this, but he said not an issue, use this paste n it will be alright. But zero improvement, please suggest me something. I feel so embarrass. Thnks.

Kindly consult a dentist in person for further suggestion. We need more investigations to decide upon treatment. You may need deep cleaning along with surgical, gum strengthening treatment. Advance procedures can be done with laser too. You may consult me in person. Dental tips: - visit a dentist every six months. Gargle your mouth thoroughly after every meal. Scrub gently to clean your tongue with a tongue cleaner. Floss all your teeth inter dentally & brush twice daily, morning & night, up & down short vertical strokes, with ultra-soft bristles, indicator brush.

How to Avoid Yellowing of Teeth

You look your best when you wear a smile on your face. Everyone prefers a smiling face over a frowned one. Since we are talking about smiles, one can never underestimate the role that teeth play in the beauty of a smile. Dental hygiene and care is mandatory if you wish to secure your beautiful smile for years to come.

However, the global statistics for dental care suggests that we do not care enough for our teeth. 60-90% of children who are in school and almost every adult suffer from dental cavities. Dental cavities are pretty common nowadays. And yellowing of teeth can now be seen in almost every other person. It spoils the smile and makes people conscious. By ensuring a few dental care habits in your daily routine lives, you can avoid yellow teeth.

Let us discuss the tips and tricks to avoid yellowing of teeth: 

  1. Say no to specific foods: Yellowing of teeth is caused by food choices including coffee, red wine, sodas, juices, sports drinks, white wine, coloured candies and other artificially coloured foods. It will help if these foods are consumed in less quantity and frequency as they are the major contributors towards discoloration of teeth.
  2. Water after every coloured drink: Here is a habit that you must inculcate in your routine, whenever you consume any of the above mentioned food items. Post every drink or food intake which can cause tooth-staining, top it up with a glass of water. When you swirl or gargle the water in your mouth, you remove the acids that get accumulated in your mouth. It is one of the simplest preventive measures one can implement to avoid tooth stains.
  3. Dental Hygiene: Our parents and dentists kept reminding us all the time to brush twice a day and gargle with water post every food intake but did we listen to them as kids? No we did not. Proper brushing, flossing and going for dental checkups at regular intervals are sure shot ways to keep your teeth healthy for majority of your lifetime. One must develop these habits quite early in life to gain benefits from it.
  4. Whiten those Yellow teeth:  You might be at that stage of your life where inculcating the above mentioned habits won't do much good. The damage might already have been done. Your teeth are probably yellowish already and you have a history of dental cavities. In this 21st century, there are ways to whiten your teeth artificially with the many alternatives available in the market. One can opt for a solution, which can be done at home itself or go for a laser whitening which is now possible at a dentist clinic. 

So there is still hope for those who are unable to share that smile with the world due to the yellowing of teeth. Nothing is irreparable here and the health of your teeth lies in your hand.

Tooth brush to be changed every 2 months. Changing the toothbrush alone donot keeps your teeth clean. All toothpaste have nearly similar ingredients like Abrasives, Fluorides, Surfactants, Antibacterial agents, Flavourants, Remineralizers, Fluoride, Diethylene glycol, Triclosan etc. Only the wrong brushing technique that we follow harms our teeth and gums. So consult your dentist, learn proper brushing technique, Brush your teeth twice a day, up & down short vertical strokes, with ultra-soft bristles, indicator brush to protect your teeth and gums from plaque and calculus. Floss your teeth inter dentally once a day. Consume a healthy diet rich in vegetables and lean protein. Reduce your intake of sugary foods and beverages. Gargle your mouth thoroughly after every meal. Drink plenty of fluoridated tap water. Drink not consume alcohol drinks. Don’t smoke.

It is due to secretion from the salivary glands and is considered to be normal and when you are awake you swallow it but at night it comes out because you don't swallow it.

Homoeopathic medicine---------------- echenesia 30 (dr reckeweg) drink 2 drops in 1 spoon fresh water 3 times daily------------------- b. C.-18 (dr reckeweg) chew 4 tabs every 4 hrly ------------------------- hekla lavatooth powder (wheezal) scrub teeth daily night-------------------------- tooth paste in morning with any tooth paste of your choice---------------------------- report after 1 months--------------------- take following precautions for your teeth------------------ 1. Drinks: coffee and red wine cause major damage to teeth. But other drinks with high acidity, such as soda, juices and even sports drinks can cause damage staining on the teeth because of its tannins and acidic nature wear away at the tooth enamel. These acidic drinks lowers the ph of teeth below 6 thus causing corrosive wear and tear of teeths. 2. Certain foods: all sweets, candies, popscicles, damage teeth due to its high sugar content. So avoid them as much as you can and if you eat do not forget to rinse your mouth with water immediately after finishing it--------------------------------------- 3. Every time you take meals or eat something make sure to rinse your mouth with water and with homoeopathic rinseout gargles (sbl) after every meals---------------------------------- 4. Use any brand paste for brushing teeth in morning but never forget to scrub teeth with hekla lavatooth powder (wheezal) at night just before sleep.------------------------------------- 5. If possible start a habit of chewing neem stick (datuun) in the morning as it not anly scrubs our teeth but its juice acts as a good antiseptic and antibiotic to destroy the harmful bacterias stuck in out teeth cavities and inbetween teeth.

Make sure you clean your tongue while brushing teeth ,remove all the mucous, consume water frequently at least once in 2 hours ,include fresh fruits and vegetables in your daily diet, brush twice a day, avoid junk foods, rinse with water every time after eating food, rinse with warm salt water 3-4 times a day, you will see the change :) have a regular check up with near by dentist atleast once in 6 months and get cleaning done when ever it is necessary.

You may need deep cleaning along with surgical curettage or gum strengthening procedure. Rinse your mouth thoroughly with a mouth wash after every meals.
