Back pain has become very common these days because of daily life style and day today activities. It can be due to various reasons any injury, muscle strain eg-sudden twist while lifting object, bad posture, overuse of muscle or any internal disease like spondylitis, infection etc. Many of the problem occurs for which we are not aware. Health problem usually occurs because of living style and bad / incorrect sitting/standing posture. After looking at your pain I am recommending you some precautions and treatment that will be very effective. Precautions: 1. Avoid forward bending, if required then bend your knees first and then bend forward. 2. Avoid weight lifting. 3. Sit in chairs or car seats with proper back support. 4. Try to sleep in a position that helps you maintain the curve in your back like sidelying. 5. Get enough vitamin d from sun as vitamin d keep bones strong including spine. 6. Drink plenty of water to enhance the inter vertebral disks 7. Avoid standing in the one position for a long time. 8. Try to sleep in a position that helps you maintain the curve in your back. 9. Avoid stress full activity. When pain is less or no pain make a habit of morning walk atleast for 20 minutes to get fresh air in body which is really beneficial to keep fit and healthy. Meditations is an extra advantage along with walk. Physio care: I would recommend you for i-care treatment that is especially for back or neck pain. Rest required but it doesn't mean a complete bed rest. Do not over exert your body. Work take rest and then work so that you do not feel tired and started paining. Treatment- 1. Apply ice or heat which ever suits you directly to the area of low back pain will decrease swelling and inflammation, and ease your discomfort. Apply it for 10 to 15 minutes only. 2. Relaxing for 5 minutes after ice or heat treatment. Massage - ask someone to massage your painful area using fingers or thumb. Massage using kneading technique. Slightly press the thumb and start rotating as it helps to induce relaxation, relieve pain, and reduce levels of stress chemicals, such as cortisol and noradrenaline. It will give you pain relief for time being. 3. After massage again relax for 5 min and apply any pain relieving ointment eg - volini or oraflame gel etc. Make sure not to do massage with the gel, it should not penetrate the body. Just a topical application of gel should be done. 4. Again relax your body for 5 minutes and perform some normal back extension and hamstring stretching exercises to get relief from your pain. While performing exercises if pain occurs then would recommend you to stop doing exercise. Massage or slightly rub the painful area and consult your near by physio to diagnose the actual cause of the pain.

I have a back pain from since 1 year. I can control it by taking rest for 3 to 5 hrs. But also it repeats when I went for drive on bike 50 kms a day. It starts again and again. Even though when I do small works of hm cleaning it pains too. Other wise no pain till the work done by me.

Hello, there are multiple reasons causing back pain, consult a physiotherapist to analyze exact reason of your back pain and also to cure it at root cause level. Meanwhile you should understand the pain causing activities and should avoid it till you are being treated and advise from your physiotherapist. Also starting any exercise without being diagnosed can lead to severe consequences. Meanwhile take rest, avoid biking and apply ice for 8-10 minutes on the painful area daily thrice.

Avoid sitting cross legged. Avoid squatting- quadriceps exercises- lie straight, make a towel role and put it under the knee, press the keen against the role, hold it for 20 secs. Repeat 20 times twice a day. This will help relieve some pain.

I am 41 yrs old male. Suffering from berge of disc of l5 s1 since last 10 months. On physiotherapy daily. If execcise is stopped them legs and foot get cramps and heavy pains after 15 min walking only. Cants stand for more than 30 min. Want somebody to press legs or squeez. Kindly suggest.

Well sir your problem has started bcos of muscle weakness and improper posture of back. so exercises r vital for u. The problem of cramps and pain in your legs is also due to weakness in muscles, plus lack of calcium, potassium and magnesium in your diet. I would recommend that u learn some exercises for your lower limbs and get your blood check-up. If needed u have to consult some good dietitian. Thank you.

Bhujang Asana -- Lie flat on your stomach, keeping the palms out, bend the neck backward, take a deep breath and while holding it for 6 seconds, raise the chest up. Release breath and relax your body. Repeat the exercise 15 times twice daily. Core Strengthening Exercises- Straight Leg Raised With Toes Turned Outward, repeat 10 times, twice a day.

I am 77years, had accidental fall in may 14 at bangalore no injury or problem but diagonised BP 140 ,,70 asked to have regular check from time to time it varies from 140/80 to 140/7o till date rescribed tel press 40 mg daily morning. earlier never went to any dr. am i continue now advice.

yes you must continue with your prescribed drugs for hypertension. also start with medium speed walking for at least 30-40 minutes a day, three times a week. It will help in regulating your blood pressure.

Ways to Treat Dysmenorrhea Effectively

Dysmenorrhea is a condition marked by severe menstrual cramps. This is caused due to contractions in the pelvic area during the menstrual cycle. While most women go through some degree of cramping, when the cramps become too serious and severe, it should be reported to a doctor to find out if there are any other related problems like Endometriosis, Fibroids, Adenomyosis or some infections.

Here are the ways in which this condition may be treated effectively:

  1. Medication: One of the main ways of dealing with this condition includes taking pain relievers that must be prescribed by your doctor. Also, one can take over the counter drugs to relieve the pain. These include ibuprofen as well as aspirin and non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs. Acetaminophen can also help in most cases. Some women may need antibiotics to take care of pelvic infections that cause pain in the pelvic region.

  2. Hormonal Birth Control: if your symptoms are too severe and debilitating, then the doctor can also put you on hormonal birth control treatment to bring down the pain and severity of the cramps. These are usually prescribed in the form of oral tablets which need to be consumed daily as advised by the Gynaecologist . Sometimes, some women may be unsuitable / unwilling for oral medications and in such cases, other routes for hormonal administration may be followed. This can be administered in the form of an injection. Also, you may wear the dose as a patch on the skin. A surgical procedure can also implant the same under your skin. This also comes as a flexible ring that the doctor can insert into your vagina with the help of an intrauterine device (IUD).

  3. Surgery: In very extreme cases, the doctor may recommend surgery. This is usually conducted in case there is an underlying condition like endometriosis or fibroids, which can create severe complications for the patient as well. The doctor may also carry out surgical removal of the patient's uterus in case there are many complications.

  4. Home remedies: One can exercise on a regular basis in a moderate manner so as to ensure that the cramps are not too severe. Also, you can use heat therapy in order to bring down the pain. This can be done by taking a hot bath and soaking in a tub of hot water. Also, you can use a heat compress so as to relieve the pain. Other dietary supplements can also be taken in order to reduce the cramps. For this purpose, one should regularly indulge in fish and flax seeds as well as other ingredients that are rich in omega three fatty acids. Also, vitamin B1 is an important ingredient that can be found in leafy green vegetables. Magnesium supplements can also be taken by the patient for such cramps.

  5. Stress: one will need to take care of the stress levels by staying away from stressful situations and also cutting back on the consumption of alcohol. One should also avoid smoking completely. Meditation & Yoga have been known to help in relieving stress and you can practise a little bit of these on a daily basis. Also, devoting time to your hobbies and listening to good music can be a stress-buster when incorporated in your daily routine.

So eat right, exercise right, think right and have a positive attitude- That helps take care of most non-pathological cases of dysmenorrhoea.

Hello according to your condition you have to take hot water fermentation through towel and do it 3 times in a day duration-15 min along with stretching and back exercises like straingh leg raising, bridging with -20 min repetition -5 sec hold do it for 3 days sure you will get well soon take care.

5 Only Exercises For Easy Relief From Knee Pain
Simple exercises for relief from knee pain

A lot of people suffer from knee pain, some hereditary, some due to injuries and some due to other reasons. Whatever be the reasons, the pain is very bothersome.

Try the following exercises regularly to get relief from knee pain.

1. Leg lifts - sit straight on a chair with your feet firmly on the ground. Lift the leg for which the knee pains, until it is parallel to the ground. Hold for a couple of seconds and bring back to the initial position. Do 10 reps every day.

2. Knee bending - sit on a chair and keep a stool of same height as the chair in front of you. Place your knee on the stool, knee slightly bent. Slowly, straighten your leg and hold in the straight position for a couple of seconds before you release. Do 10 reps.

3. Leg straightening - stand straight and place the foot on a low platform. Bend down, place both your palms on the knee and slowly push it down until your leg is straight. Push only as far as it doesn't hurt too much. Hold for a few seconds and release.

4. Stretching - sit upright. Bring your leg towards your chest by bending the knee and keeping your hand above the ankle. Push your heel towards your buttocks. Release after a couple of seconds.

5. Chair pulling - stand straight near a door keeping your feet apart (shoulder-width), in front of a chair. Hold the knob of the door and slowly, sit back on the chair. Feel the pull in the muscles and go back to previous position after 2-3 seconds. Repeat.

Hi ~use elastic bandages (such as an ace bandage) to wrap your ankle. ~wear a brace to support your ankle. ~use crutches for walking till swelling and pain subsides. ~keep your foot raised above your heart with pillows when resting or sleeping to reduce swelling. ~get plenty of rest and do not put weight on your ankle. Still you don't get relief than visit physiotherapist as physical examination /xray may be required for further investigation. Do reply for detailed treatment plan. Wishing you a good health.

Neck problems can affect the shoulders, arms, and even hands. These problems can be caused by wear and tear over the years, trauma, or simply" over-doing-it" one weekend. Neck pain radiating down the arms is often caused by cervical spinal stenosis or a herniated disc. You should seek the medical advice of a physician or a physiotherapist for detail assessment and management of your pain. Physiotherapist treat initial pain, inflammation, and muscle spasms with heat and cold, electrotherapy, manual therapy (soft tissue and spinal mobilizations), and light specific exercise. As pain decreases, they focus on regaining range of motion, strength, and endurance, while encouraging correct body mechanics and postures. Final stages of back care include regaining muscular control and reaction time to help prevent further injury.

I have an injury on my knee a year back . Now it is paining I have took some pain killer for a tme its relaxed but a day after it is paining again. What I do?

I am sorry about your sufferings. Take equal quantity of turmeric, fenugreek (Methi) and dried ginger powder. Mix them well and store in a cleaned jar. Take one tea-spoon powder mixed in a glass of warm water on empty stomach twice a day with water after meal until you feel better. Secondly, if you are constipated, correct your bowel movements and reduce weight, if obese. Avoid icing your knee and tie up your knee with crepe bandage. Finally, apply little pressure on the second joint of your middle finger from the nail using your thumb and index finger of other hand. You will observe severe and crucifying pain on that particular joint. This joint resembles knee in Sujok Therapy. Keep applying pressure intermittently on the prescribed joint in rotating motion for 15 minutes twice a day and within few days you will feel better. Apply pain relieving cream/gel also. Give hot water fomentation added with cooking salt and lemon juice to the affected area twice a day. Knee pains are very complicated symptoms and should not be left unattended. Also, seek your doctor’s advice for your disorder. If the pain is due to calcium deficiency, take calcium supplements. Take care and be in good health.
