I am 74 year old woman. Diabetes and B P well under control due to medication. Almost daily morning When I try to get out of my bed/cot, I feel that my leg muscles are stiffened and I have to wait for the muscles (especially calf) to get relaxed. What is the cure? Hi apply pranacharya restopain oil or prasarini oil on your affected part then give hot fomentation. Take maha rasnadi kwath 2-2 tsf twice a day. And agni tundi vati and maha yograj guggul 1-1 tab twice a day.

Reasons can be-* cold weather *sitting in inconvenient posture constantly, without changing your position or without movement, *wearing ill fitting sandals, *lack of exercise or *internal disorder like arthritis. Point to observe- * if you have difficulty in climbing stairs, take lift while going upstairs. If there is no lift, go up slowly. * if it is due to strain of games or injury, take rest. * if it is due to obesity, reduce weight. * if it is due to constant sitting at a particular posture, change posture and engage in slow walk. * walking regularly at slow pace without unduly straining helps as it improves blood circulation around knee and eases the joint. *you can use mustard oil for massage which is good in winter season for relieving pain. Eucalyptus oil is also good homoeopathy has a good treatment for this without adverse effects. Take bryonia 200---twice daily morning and evening and give feedback after 7 days for further treatment, consult privately (prime-rs. 149/).

I have pain in my legs over 7 days ago what kind of medicine or excersice I have to do?

Numbness in leg & feet is due to pressure on the nerves. This could be due to lumbar spondylosis with nerve root compression. Rule out diabetes & vit. D deficiency or any other metabolic disorder. Sleep on a hard bed with soft bedding on it. Use no pillow under the head. Any way take paracetamol 250mg od & sos you will need other supportive medicines also. Do back (spine) exercises make sure you are not allergic to any of the medicines you are going to take you may have to use lumbosacral support for some time. Avoid painful act/activities. Take medicines as prescribed it may have to be further investigated. Do ask for detailed treatment plan. Do not ignore. It could be beginning of a serious problem.

In the recent years, with the building work pressure and the increasing stress in our everyday activities, our regular lives have become choc-a-bloc with all sorts of engagements. This often renders our bodies prone to fatigue and listlessness. This phenomenon can often be observed in an intensified form by way of a disorder called Fibromyalgia or as it is deemed in common parlance, "rheumatism". 

Fibromyalgia is an ailment, which causes pain in the body tissues. The tender and fibrous tissues like muscles, ligaments and tendons are often affected by this disease. As a consequence of Fibromyalgia, one feels incapacitated to work or perform any physical activity. Sometimes Fibromyalgia is accompanied by extreme headaches, sleep disturbances, muscle pain and consistent dizziness

The degree of chronicity of the disease may vary but the underlying cause remains the same. Given the high incidence of the disease, the treatment for the same is also widely available. However, for a more effective and lasting cure, many resort to homeopathy.

Homeopathy offers several remedies to Fibromyalgia, classified on the basis of the discrete symptoms of the disease: 

  1. Rhus Tox: Rhus Tox is an excellent antidote for rheumatism induced stillness and muscle pain. When paired with suitable exercises, it can afford a lot of relief. 
  2. Ruta Grav: Ruta Grav aids in relieving tendon pains and sustained usage helps in restoring muscle strength in case of Fibromyalgia.
  3. Rhododendron: Often the Fibromyalgia pain gets aggravated with a marked change in the season. Rhododendron mitigates the intensity of the pain. 
  4. Arnica: For any injury induced body ache, Arnica is an extremely effective cure. It also functions as the foremost option, when the precise causes or the symptoms are unknown. 
  5. Causticum: Certain forms of Fibromyalgia are accompanied with soreness, weakness and a feeling of stillness. Causticum soothes such ailments.
  6. Bryonia: Bryonia alleviates chronic pain in the soft tissues of the body. Exposure to heat needs to be avoided mandatorily in order to optimize the effect of Bryonia. 
  7. Kalmia Latifolia: When besides the obverse symptoms of Fibromyalgia, the pain in the muscle is accompanied with a feeling of cold and numbness, one of the best homeopathic cures is Kalmia Latifolia. 

Fibryomalgia is an ailment, which not only manifests physical troubles but also affects one's emotional status adversely. Dear lybrate-user, hello. Use a hard mattress on bed, use commode and avoid stairs. Do hot fomentation and apply volitra gel 2-3 times a day and wear a ls belt. Take altraflam 1 after meals for a week or 10 days. If of no avail. Take care.

Hello, I am suffering from coccyx (tailbone) pain from past 1 year. And now i am really fed up with this pain. Because of this my normal life has been disturbed. Please suggest me some permanent solution on dis. I consulted doc but he said there is no permanent solution.Plz help me out of this.

Conservative management is by physiotherapy. Steroid injections. You can also try out acupunture as I have got good results with it in some of my patients. If that has failed then you have to get your coccyx removed surgically.

See if you have pain in foot region, then it can be due to multiple reasons depending upon which region of foot is involved like front of the foot or back of the foot region etc? but if there is a burning sensation also associated then it may indicate a nerve involvement, so please tell clearly what is the problem. Also have you got tests like vitamin b 12, vitamin d levels done recently after the onset of your complaints? also if you can send me a clinical picture from your mobile phone showing which site do you exactly feel pain and burning sensation, it will be useful? do not hesitate to contact me if you need any further assistance.

There are many causes of pain in shoulder region but you are very young and should not be having persistent pain. Is it one shoulder or both which are affected? apart from pain, do you also have stiffness in the affected joints, skin redness or any other s/s of inflammation like swelling, local warmth etc? is there any previous h/o injury to the affected shoulder also? please send me the relevant investigations and treatment taken till now. Its better to stop useless painkillers. Start ayurvedic medicines. It will take time, but you can get permanent relief up to some extent. Some karmas also will help you, like, massage, local steam, janu basti, janu dhara.

Quadriceps strengthening exercises- Quad Clenches: Lie flat on your back or sit upright on a chair with leg kept horizontally on another surface. Now, tighten the muscle on the front of the thigh by pushing your knee down. You should feel your thigh muscles clench, Hold for 3 secs. Repeat 10 times twice a day. Short Arcs: Lie flat on your back or sit upright with your leg placed horizontally on a flat surface like a chair or bed. Place a rolled up towel under the knee. Pull your toes towards you and clench you thigh muscles. Slowly lift your foot up off the bed until your knee is straight (keep your knee resting on the towel). Hold for 3 secs and slowly lower them on the chair. Repeat 10 times twice a day. Straight Leg Raise: Lie flat on your back. One leg and knee will be straight and other leg should be bent. Pull your toes towards you and tighten/clench the muscle on the front of the thigh, locking your knee straight. Lift your foot up in the air, about 6 inches off the bed. Hold for 3 secs and slowly lower the leg. The knee must remain straight the whole time you are doing this exercise. Hamstring stretching Towel Hamstring Stretch Lie on the back, supporting the thigh with the hand or with a towel wrapped around it.. Slowly straighten the knee until a stretch is felt in the back of the thigh, trying to get the bottom of the foot to face the ceiling, one leg at a time. Hold the position initially for 10 seconds, and gradually work up to 20 to 30 seconds. Seated Hamstring Stretch While sitting at the edge of a chair, straighten one leg in front of the body with the heel on the floor. Then, sit up straight and try pushing the navel towards the thigh without leaning the trunk of the body forwards. Hold this stretch for 30 seconds Repeat 3 times for each leg.
