Use hot water boiled with Ajwain seeds for drinking. Massage with warmed herbal oil like Mahanarayan oil. Take turmeric in hot milk. Report after a week. Bath with hot water.

Dear Lybrate User, This seems to be postural back pain. Medicine will only provide symptomatic relief...but isn't a long term solution. Try doing some back stretching and strengthening exercises...for eg back stretch, hams stretch, cat and camel exercises or yoga asanas eg bhujangasana. Along with this, do hot water fomentation twice daily.

Avoid long sittings for not more than 20 min at a time. Take 1 min break after every 20 min. Do back lifting exercise.

There are actually many causes of shoulder pain, it can be due to some injuries, tendinitis, bursitis, soft tissue and muscle tears, ac joint issues besides many others as well. So my advice will to be to restrict straining your shoulder till it is pain free. Ice packs can be applied local analgesic sprays and gentle anti inflammatory medications like tab etoshine and tab paracetamol may also provide pain relief. Dear Mr. Sugunakar reddy, you are sufferring from primary osteoarthritis of the knee, most likely unicompartmental (medial). There are various methods of management like knee braces, physiotherapy, medications and synovial fluid replacement therapy by giving injections in the knee joint and surgeries like hto & unicondylar knee replacement. You need to be seen clinically and assessed for any further treatment based on your extent of cartilage damage.

Sleep on a hard bed with soft bedding on it. Spring beds, folding beds or thick matress are harmful use no pillow under the head. Do hot fomantation. Paracetamol 250mg od & sos x 5days. Caldikind plus 1tab od x10. Do neck, back knee & general exercises. It may have to be further investigated. Make sure you are not allergic to any of the medicines you are going to take. For emergency treatment contacts your nearest hospital or family doctor. If it doe s not give relief in 4-5days, contact me again. Why not discuss with me in a video conference?

Pain is a common occurrence in day to day life and should be managed well.
Remember the word ‘ICE’ which means putting ice pack on theinjured painful area, ‘C’ stands for compression and ‘E’stands for elevation.
The mantra, therefore, is to use cold compression and elevation forany injury.
Alternate hot and cold packs are used for chronic pain.
Painkillers should not be taken without a doctor’s advice.
If a painkiller has to be taken, it should be one tablet of paracetamol.
People who take alcohol should not consume paracetamol without asking their doctor.
In patients with kidney disease, even one tablet of painkiller can precipitate kidney failure.
In patients with acid peptic disease, one tablet of painkiller can precipitate gastric bleeding. Instead of taking a painkiller, look for alternative methods torelieve pain.
Pain relieving ointments are better than oral painkillers.
In hospital setting, intravenous and intramuscular injectable painkillers are available.
Always tell your doctor that you are taking painkillers.

Avoid sitting cross legged. Avoid squatting- quadriceps exercises- lie straight, make a towel role and put it under the knee, press the keen against the role, hold it for 20 secs. Repeat 20 times twice a day. This will help relieve some pain. Core strengthening exercise- straight leg raised with toes turned outward, repeat 10 times, twice a day. Hams stretching- lie straight, take the leg up, pull the feet towards yourself, with a elastic tube or normal belt. Repeat 10 times, twice a day. Sports taping- stretch the tape from both ends and apply on the affected area contrast fomentation (hot and cold).

Hello, thanks for your query and welcome to lybrate. I am Dr. Akshay from fortis hospital, new delhi. Please tell me what was the initiating factor for your pain? there are many causes of knee pain in young people, if there is no associated swelling, skin redness or any other s/s of inflammation or infection, then - start with intensive physical therapy focussing on strengthening of your quadriceps muscle and stretching of other muscle groups - hot water fomentation 3-4 times at home - local analgesic spray like dynapar qps for local application after fomentation - take adequate calcium and vitamin d supplementation as per requirement - you can take short course of anti inflammatory medication like tab etoshine, tab paracetamol or any medicine which suits you for 5-7 days what medications you generally take and what has been your treatment history till now for existing problem. I would like to know whether you have got your inflammatory profile done till now. Also please let me know what all exercises you are doing on a daily basis. If you have a fracture, in the acute phase, it should be immobilized in a forearm-based splint or cast for 3-4 weeks. Gentle active range of motion (rom) of the uninvolved digits, should be encouraged. A physiotherapist can instruct you to perform these exercises on a daily basis at home.

Hello lybrate user, back pain that is associated with day time jobs like computer professional s are associated with paraspinal muscle spasms. The best way to tackle this sort of pain is to do well spaced stretching exercises of the back, back extension exercises, using hot water bags to provide relief and avoiding stooping posture while sitting. Posture also plays a very important part in back pain, always maintain a straight posture while sitting. While getting up from the bed try to first go on your left or right side of the body and get up side ways. Avoid cruntches or sit-ups: they may increase the pressure on your back and may predispose to slip disc. Always maintain a healthy lifestyle in terms of regular brisk walking, meditation, eating healthy. P. S: try to avoid pain killers (analgesics) as much as possible as many are associated with side effects that you may not be aware of. Stay healthy. Stay happy god bless you.

This treatment is being suggested on bases of the information provided. I would like to examine & investigate you in detail. Rule out Hypertension, Diabetes or other metabolic disorder. Any way it may be tried, --. Dolokind Plus (Mankind) [Aceclofenac 100 mg +Paracetamol 350 mg] 1 tab. OD & SOS. X 5 days. --. Caldikind plus (Mankind) 1 tab OD x 10 days. (You may need help of your local doctor to get these medicines.) --. Fomentation with warm water. Avoid direct flow of AC or Cooler. --. Sleep on a hard bed with soft bedding. --. Hi Thanks for your query and welcome to Lybrate. I am Dr. Akshay from Fortis hospital, New Delhi. You are very young to actually have persistent back pains. If you have localized back pain with no other symptoms like radiating leg pain, neurological symptoms like numbness, weakness, paresthesias etc, then you can start with following recommendations for initial period of 2-3 weeks: - To maintain proper posture of your back while working and sleeping - If pain is more then you can take a short course of an anti-inflammatory medication like tab etoshine or paracetamol or one which suits you - Physical therapy initially under supervision of a trained physiotherapist and then to continue at home - Adequate calcium & vitamin d intake if levels are low in body - Ice packs can applied if your pain is acute, then hot fomentation can be done at home - Analgesic spray for local application can be used and is easily available. - Avoid lifting heavyweight/ acute forward bending in mornings etc We will observe you for next 2-3 weeks how you respond to this conservative management protocol. If you are not feeling better, then we will have to get some investigations like, dynamic x rays of lower back and few blood tests for evaluation. Calf Stretches Standing calf stretch Stand away from a wall and.put your fight foot behind you and be sure your toes are facing forward. Lean forward at the ankle while bending the right knee and keeping your heel on the ground. Hold this for 30 to 60 seconds. Repeat 10 times a twice a day. Downward dog yoga stretch Get down on all fours with your hands under your shoulders on the floor. Walk your hands forward slightly on the floor. Spread your fingers apart to allow for a broad base of support. Push your hips up toward the ceiling and tighten your abdominal muscles. Keep your heels on the ground and gently try and straighten your knees. Repeat 10 times a twice a day. Wall calf stretch Stand about two feet away from a wall. Place the ball of your right foot against the wall while your heel remains on the ground. Slowly and gently lean into the wall while keeping your knee straight. Hold this for 5 seconds. Repeat 10 times twice a day. Downward dog yoga stretch Get down on all fours with your hands under your shoulders on the floor. Walk your hands forward slightly on the floor. Spread your fingers apart to allow for a broad base of support. Push your hips up toward the ceiling and tighten your abdominal muscles. Keep your heels on the ground and gently try and straighten your knees. Hold this for the 5 seconds. Repeat 10 times twice a day.

Stiffness in back & other joints is quite a common condition. Rule out diabetes & vit. D deficiency or any other metabolic disorder. Sleep on a hard bed with soft bedding on it. Spring beds, folding beds or thick matress are harmful use no pillow under the head. Any way take ibuprofen 200mg od & sos x 5days you will need other supportive medicines also. Take multivitamins & other antioxidants along with. Do back (spine) exercises contact me again if need be. Make sure you are not allergic to any of the medicines you are going to take.
