Male Impotence - 3 Common Symptoms

Sexologist, Jaipur
Male Impotence - 3 Common Symptoms

A normal healthy love life is as important as having a healthy body and mind. However, many men tend to have problems in maintaining a healthy love life due to the problem of impotence. A man is diagnosed as impotent when he experiences serious trouble getting an erection despite arousal or maintaining it during sexual intercourse.

Physical and mental impact:
If the erectile dysfunction becomes a regular phenomenon, it can severely affect the person’s relationship status, not to mention his self esteem. Sometimes, impotence might be an indication of a serious underlying condition.

You might be suffering from male impotence if:
1. You are experiencing recurrent and significant trouble in order to get and subsequently maintain an erection.
2. You are suffering from a low sex drive for a long amount of time.
3. A combination of the both.

Either way, a consultation with the doctor might help to cure male impotence through a prescribed dosage of medications. In extreme cases, the doctor might prescribe an artificial replacement of testosterone within the body or even a surgery in order to normalize things. If male impotence occurs due to psychological factors, sessions of counseling might help to improve the condition. If diagnosed and treated efficiently, male impotence is an easily curable condition.

Male impotence or erectile dysfunction might occur due to numerous physical or psychological factors. Some of the causes of erectile dysfunction are as follows:
Under lying health issues, if you are suffering from major health disorders you may suffer from erectile dysfunction. Some of these could be

  1. Hypertension
  2. High cholesterol
  3. Diabetes, obesity
  4. Alzheimer’s disease
  5. Parkinson’s disease

Medication and treatments: Erectile dysfunction might occur due to the side effects of certain medications such as chemotherapy and blood pressure medications.

  1. Excessive alcohol consumption, tobacco usage or drug abuse: These elements put many harmful elements within your body and may result in prostate cancer or surgery within the pelvic area. If anyone has recently undergone surgery to treat prostate cancer or other problems of the pelvic area, it may cause impotence as well.
  2. Psychological trauma: Since the brain is one of the most important agents responsible for erections, any form of psychological trauma, anxiety or stress might trigger a dysfunction in the process as well. If you wish to discuss about any specific problem, you can consult a Sexologist.

In some cases, a woman may experience low libido, refuses to have sex, and avoids sexual intimacy. In other cases, she may face difficulties in getting aroused or may experience pain or discomfort during sex. Frigidity can occur from both emotional, and physical issues, which cause great strain and distress to a woman’s relationships.

If the lack of sexual desire, or frigidity becomes a major problem in your relationship, you can opt for various treatment options, depending on the underlying cause of frigidity, and the symptoms experienced.

Communication problems between a woman and her partner is a common reason which leads to frigidity in women. In a case of emotional problems, you should open up, or consult a psychologist for counselling.

Physical problems also cause frigidity and low libido in women. For this, you need to talk to a gynaecologist, or a general practitioner.

Sexuality involves several complex emotions and behaviour patterns, starting from romance, the feeling of intimacy, security to the feelings of desire and sensuality. There is no switch for intimacy which can be turned on when a partner wants to have sex. The situation or scenario has to feel right and comfortable before mutual enjoyment can be achieved.

Cures for Frigidity

Here are some effective ways of curing frigidity:

  1. Counselling of both the partners is required when frigidity is caused because of relationship problems.

  2. Psychotherapy is important for getting rid of your insecurities and hidden fears.

  3. Certain dietary modifications are essential. You should add oysters, avocados, olive oil, eggs, soy, pumpkin seeds, nuts, sprouts, soy, vitamin E, zinc, and chocolates to your diet.

  4. You can utilise herbs such as Damiana, chive, Kava Kava, wild yam, sarsaparilla, dong quai, ginger root, and Siberian ginseng for curing frigidity naturally. You can also use curative products made with the mentioned herbs, such as certain capsules, and gels.

  5. Regular exercise and yoga are important for boosting your sexual health.

  6. You may spend time with your husband watching erotic movies or reading erotic books together.

  7. You should sleep for long hours for uplifting your sexual desire.

  8. You should get rid of stress via methods such as spas, meditation, and other mindful exercises for unleashing your sexual potential.

  9. You can also take medicines which are DHEA and testosterone based for curing frigidity.

Common STDs in Women - Know the Facts

Although STDs are capable of affecting both genders, the impact on men and women is different. In women, this problem can cause long-term issues such as infertility in women. Although most STDs can be readily treated as soon as the symptoms surface, some cases might not throw up any symptom. Some of the curable STDs that can affect women are discussed below:

  1. Gonorrhoea: This STD is caused by bacteria living in mucous membranes of the vagina, urethra, mouth, rectum and eyes and is capable of spreading through contact. The symptoms in women include excessive discharge from the vagina, abdominal cramps, pain in the pelvic region and bleeding from the vagina after sex.

  2. Chlamydia: This STD is a result of a bacterial infection of ‘Chlamydia trachomatis’. Symptoms in females include burning sensation during urination, unusual vaginal discharge and bleeding between periods. Without treatment, the infection might spread to the urinary tract which could potentially cause PID (pelvic inflammatory disease) which is capable of causing problems in pregnancy and even infertility.

  3. Genital Herpes: Genital herpes is generally caused by the herpes simplex virus-2 (HSV-2) or the herpes simplex virus-1 (HSV-1). The virus is commonly known to be the chief cause of cold sores. Symptoms may appear soon after infection and usually are severe. This includes blisters, which turn into raw and painful sores that scab and heal over time. This might be accompanied by swollen lymph nodes and fever.

  4. Chancroid: This infection is caused by the bacterium ‘Haemophilus Ducreyi’. It occurs most commonly in the vulva (the female external genital organ that includes the clitoris, labia as well as the opening of the vagina). The condition starts out as a tender lump that appears during the incubation period after intercourse. The incubation period generally ranges between 3-10 days. The bump turns into an ulcer i.e. an open sore, due to the death of the cells. This is usually painful.

  5. Syphilis: It is caused by the bacterium ‘Treponema pallidum’ and the disease mainly occurs if you have sexual intercourse without any protection, that too with multiple sexual partners. The other mode of infection is blood transfusion. Symptoms of Syphilis include appearance of ulcers around the genitals or the oral region known as a chancre, severe rashes around the hand or feet coupled with other symptoms of mild fever, headache, throat pain and immense fatigue. If you wish to discuss about any specific problem, you can consult a gynaecologist.

Don't Let Premature Ejaculation Hurt Your Sex Life

Sometimes  it is not just physical ailments that can cause harm to your performance in bed or your relation with your partner, but the way you stress yourself over them. Premature ejaculation happens when a man ejaculates sooner than required or planned, in the process of sexual activity and intercourse. It is basically a form of male sexual dysfunction that can be diagnosed with the help of a physical examination where the doctor can also ask questions pertaining to stress levels and other medications and ailments. This usually happens within a minute or so of penetration.

Reasons for premature ejaculation:

  • Biological Issues: There are a number of biological problems due to which men may also experience premature ejaculation and other related health issues. Abnormal hormonal levels and an imbalance in the state of one's hormones can lead to this condition. Also, there are instances where the neurotransmitters of the brain enjoy an abnormal level of activity, which can lead to an abnormal reflex reaction in the ejaculatory system of the patient. Nerve damage can also lead to this condition.
  • Anxiety: Anxiety is one of the primary reasons for such physical problems that one experiences during sex. These patients may be suffering from anxiety due to their performance in bed, or they may be anxious about a new relationship or partner. This anxiety can lead to a state where the patient is not able to fully enjoy the act of intercourse and ends up ejaculating prematurely.
  • Thyroid: Male patients suffering from thyroid problems have also reported instances where premature ejaculation becomes a problem. This condition can also be an inherited one. It is best to take a professional opinion and seek therapy for treatment.
  • Relationship problems: Another issue that many male patients suffering from this condition face includes relationship problems. These problems can create trouble in the sex life of the patient due to which sex may not be happening on a frequent or regular basis. Due to this, the ejaculation may also suffer, leading to further stress.

How premature ejaculation can be dealt with?

  1. One can practise breathing exercises and other relaxation techniques including meditation that can help in distracting the mind so that there is less scope of anxiety. This can also help in putting the patient in the right frame of mind where he can actually enjoy the process of sexual activity from stimulation to excitement to peak and orgasm.
  2. One can try different kinds of sexual positions and scenarios for more imaginative role play and better sexual excitement which can delay the ejaculation.
  3. A person can also learn to be more intimate with the partner so as to identify the triggers that lead to premature ejaculation.

Hello sir I am suffering from premature ejaculation what will I do give me suggestion thanks.

Sexologist, Jaipur
Hello sir I am suffering from premature ejaculation what will I do give me suggestion thanks.
There are a few ways to help you last longer in bed naturally. 1) eat more veggies and fruits: they have more stamina due to the nutrients they get from these fruits and veggies, especially potassium 2) try the squeeze technique: when you are almost about to orgasm, squeeze just below the head of the penis. This pushes the blood back from the penis giving you more time. 3) focus more on foreplay and your woman: sometimes, trying to get her to orgasm first with either your fingers or your mouth could help relieve your stress and help maintain your erection longer.

Sexologist, Jaipur
I have masturbate almost every day is there any adverse effect of it in future I am still not married.
Masturbation is a not a bad practice if done within healthy limits - it keeps reproductive system active, curbs excessive excitement for mating and replaces old semen with a new one, but it is addictive and mostly males start to practice it too frequently. Excessive hand practice has serious consequences over health and reproductive system both. Excessive hand practice reduces sensation in male genital region to cause low libido, weakens tissues to cause slow, weak and soft erections, and slows down function of nerves to cause problems of early and involuntary discharge. Also, regular loss of semen raises serious deficiencies in the body and can cause distressed liver too.

Before 2 days I got married. I could not enter my penis to her pussyy. Give some advise. please give some lubrication...
During the time of intercourse, bend her legs from the knees a little towards the stomach and leave a gap between both the knees. (in this position the muscles of vagina will not be stretched) now from between her legs enter the penis and it will be better if you place a soft pillow under her hips so that her that portion comes upwards. If there is dryness in vagina than you can apply any lubricant on penis and vagina and than enter (water based gel lubricant are better)

Hi! I started masturbating since teenager. Now m at 30's. I can not stop masturbating everyday. It has become habit. How to stop this habit.

Sexologist, Jaipur
Hi! I started masturbating since teenager. Now m at 30's. I can not stop masturbating everyday. It has become habit. ...
Ways to Stop Masturbation If you have decided that you would like to stop masturbating there are a few methods you can take to start curbing the habit. (1) Stop feeling guilty - The first step in getting over an addicting behavior is to stop feeling guilty for indulging. If you are dwelling on your bad behavior, it only makes it more tempting to continue. Some also find they are just as addicted to the guilt as they are to masturbating in the first place. It is perfectly acceptable to make mistakes and stumble along your path to recovery. Forgive yourself and move on rather than focusing on your slip ups instead of beating yourself up and focusing excessive energy on this incident. (2) Rid enablers - Remove anything that increases your temptation to participate in masturbation. If you have a stash of toys or paraphernalia, throw it away. Block websites on your computer that allow you to access pornographic content. If you have someone in your home that you are comfortable sharing this with, ask them to reset your passwords so you will not be able to remove these bans yourself. Avoid situations such as hot showers or staying up late so you will not be tempted. (3) Fill up your social schedule - Do this so that you do not feel bored and lonely. Loneliness increases the temptation to masturbate, especially if you feel as though you are using masturbation as a replacement for romantic interaction. Boredom gives your mind time to wander to sexual thoughts and provides the time and energy to masturbate. (4) Join in activities and find new hobbie - As you work to fill up your schedule with other activities, you will want to find another channel for your energy. Finding a creative outlet for your energy will fill up your time and give you something to feel satisfied about so you do not need masturbation to be satisfied. Find a new hobby, join a club, start playing sports or find a volunteer activity that you can use to fill up your time. (5) Alter your diet - Increasing your intake of fruits and vegetables can make you feel more alert and give you the energy you need to take part in other activities. This can also boost brainpower, giving you the push you need to resist your urge to masturbate. (6) Be patient - You are not going to be able to stop masturbating overnight. It is perfectly understandable if you have a relapse or struggle with letting go of your habit. Set up a reward system or checkpoint that you can use to keep yourself motivated. This will help you avoid dwelling on the negative and allowing a mistake from blocking your way to recovery. (7) Find someone trustworthy. Sometimes you might need help to completely stop masturbating. Find someone you can trust such as a religious leader or counselor so you can talk through your urges and find a set of tools that can help you stop. There are counselors that specialize in providing counseling and care to those with sexual addictions who may be able to help you find healthy ways to rid yourself of these urges.
