In a bike accident on 8/7/2016 my right lower femur fractured. There was no other injuries. I have been operated on 22/7/2016 with internal fixation plate. I was discharged on 6.8.2016 from hospital after cutting of my stich. In first review x-ray there was remarkable improvement in healing of the bone and callus were noticed. Surgeon advised my for non weight bearing for 02 more months. He also advised me for quadriceps drill and knee bending exercise. But I am facing problem in bending my knee. I feared in case of bending the bone get non union again. Is there any chance of non union during knee bending? Can physiotherapy help be taken for knee bending exercise. As I still in bed rest rest and using bed pan and urine pot for toilet. Can I use walker for going to toilet, bath and slow moving in the home at this stage? How time is require for complete healing of the bone? WHEN I COULD RETURN TO MY JOB AS MY JOB IS CLERICAL NATURE RAILWAY JOB.

As your fracture is already fixed ,you need not worry about displacement of fracture or of non union at all. After any fracture fixation ,It is advised to start active range of motion exercises as early as possible. This prevents the joints from getting stiff, increases blood supply to the fractured bone and thus helps in better healing of bone. This movement exercises do not hamper callus formation in any way but in fact they encourage callus formation and early recovery. If the fixation is good you need not worry about the bending of bone on exercising. Taking physiotherapy helps, but ask you physio to be gentle You should use walker for your daily activities without putting weight on the operated limb. You can take a physio help for that.

To increase weight start increasing the amount of food you are consuming, then start eating quality protein from lean meats, beans, legumes, pulses, nuts and milk products. Aim to eat 3-5 servings of fruits and 4-5 servings of vegetables. Start doing physical activity and reduce your stress levels if you have high stress. Check your haemoglobin percentage. If you are anaemic you do not increase weight. Hope this helps you. Stay healthy stay fit.

To build some stamina, you have to exercise and workout daily. The first thing you have to do is to develop a positive attitude towards your goal. You need to understand that transforming your physique is going to take a lot of time. These things don't work that easily. It's going to take a lot of hard work and consistency 1.Start exercising. Start working out if you are not active. Begin with body weight exercises like push up, pull up and squats. Weight training proves to be really helpful if you want to gain good quality weight. Train each body part twice a week. For example: Monday/Thursday: Chest + Triceps Tuesday/Friday: Back + Biceps Wednesday/Saturday: Legs + Shoulders Don't forget to warm up for at least 10 - 15 minutes. Warm up includes jumping, rope skipping, treadmill, cycling, stair climbing, etc. 2.Eat Healthy. Stop drinking and smoking too much if you are indulged in it. Limit your intake of junk food and any form of sugar. Do not at all starve yourself. Make it a habit to eat something healthy every 2 - 3 hours. Some of the recommended food items are boiled chicken and eggs, brown rice, brown bread, peanut butter, olive oil (extra virgin), green tea, dry fruits etc. 3.Consume good amount of fruits and vegetables. Bananas, apples, pomegranate, green leafy vegetables. Fruits and vegetables helps in absorption of food in the body and together, completes your daily nutrition need. 4.Eat whole grains. Try to have multi grains spread throughout the day. Wheat, brown rice, oats are best sources of healthy carbohydrates but do not include these items in your dinner. 5.Increase protein intake. Protein proves to be the most essential nutrient when it comes down to gaining strength or building muscle. Therefore, consume all types of protein from both veg and non veg food items. Boiled chicken and eggs are the best sources of fat free protein. Sprouts are also rich in protein. Your Daily food intake should ideally consist of – a. Have plenty of nuts, dry fuits and seeds. Almonds, walnuts, sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds, figs, dates and raisins. They are full of healthy fats needed by a human body. B. Good amount of fruits and vegetables – Bananas, apples, pomegranate, green leafy vegetables. Fruits and vegetables helps in absorption of food in the body and together, completes your daily nutrition need. C. If you are a non- vegetarian - Eat eggs, chicken etc. D. Eat whole grains – Try to have multi grains spread throughout the day. Wheat, brown rice, oats, bajra, daliya etc should be taken in multiple meals in a day. E. Eat Sprouts – Chana and moong which are full of protein and nutrients. F. You can supplement your diet with good quality multi-vitamin capsules. If you are lacking in protein, you can buy a high quality whey protein and have it with banana shake twice a day. G. You can take natural food items like wheat grass which is full of essential nutrients which helps in weight gain.

Extension Exercises x 15 times x twice daily - lying on tummy, take left arm up for 3 seconds, then bring it down, right arm up for 3 seconds, bring down. Bring right leg up, hold for 3 seconds, bring it down. Then right leg up and hold for 3 seconds and bring it down. Repeat twice a day- 10 times.

I am a 40 years old male having Hypertension for the past 5 years I was taking Telma 40 morning and amlong 5 mg evening for the last three years a week ago my BP suddenly shot up to 190/100 I was feeling dizzy and my heart was pounding very fast this lasted for half and hour. The next day I got and ECG and 2D Echo done which was normal but the TMT test showed positive for induced ischemia. On the Doctor's advice I got a coronary angiogram done which showed mild coronary artery disease but no blocks there was slight plaque build up in the arteries the doctor changed my medicine to cilamet xl 10/50 to be taken morning and ecosprin av 20/75 to be taken in afternoon. It has been 3 days and I still get sudden panic attacks where I feel chill feeling on my hands and feeling of irregular heart beat this last for about 15 minutes and subsides. The doctor has now added ZAPIZ 0.5 to be taken in evening. With this I am not feeling the panic/anxiety symptoms. What is wrong with me should I see a Neurologist or Psychiatrist? Is this sudden feeling of panic/anxiety attack due to cilamet xl?

1. You may be having anxiety or stress. Avoid stress. 2. You need 7-8 hours of sound sleep to remain healthy. 3. Go for regular exercise, Take part in games and sports, 4. Do yoga, meditation and deep breathing exercise like pranayama to calm your mind, control your emotion, relieve anxiety and improve concentration. 5. Adhere to a specific sleep time and regular schedule 6. Take light dinner. 7. Avoid taking tea/coffee at bed time. Have a glass of warm milk at bed time 8. Don’t go to sleep immediately after dinner. Take a small walk after dinner and if possible take hot water bath before sleep. Read a light magazine or interesting book before going to bed 9. Avoid late night. 10. Don’t sleep in day time 11. Don’t take sleeping pill 12. If no relief consult doctor.

Dark circles are mostly due to habits. Avoid rubbing eyes. Get allergies tested. If you have refractive errors, get it checked and corrected. Avoid eye cosmetics and chemicals. Shampoos that seep down to eyeswhile bathing can contribute to this, so don't let it accumulate. Food should b supplemented with iron capsules. Have green leafy vegetables and jaggery in plenty. Overtime with computers, laptops, television, can increase the chances of darkness around eyes. Get your hb checked. Catch a good six hour sleep everyday. Relax and destress with yoga, meditation, prayer. Dark circles don't have a one-stop solution or home remedy. Sunken eyes won't respond to creams or medicines. Dark circles can occur if you don't get adequate sleep, so make sure you get at least a six hour sleep. Don't rub your eyes since this can aggravate darkness. Eye cosmetics vil harm a lot, so keep away. If you have any dust allergy, get it treated. Spent less time with a computer. Correct any anaemia if present. Have green leafy vegetables.

If you have any anxiety or tension or stress or depression due to some loss or failures in life or maladjustment at your work place or have low income or very high unfulfilled ambitions or are worried about future, you may have anxiety neurosis or neurotic depression and may seek advice of some psychologist or psychiatrist. If you have these problems you may also do self analysis and may do self-psychotherapy. You may also attend stress management seminars and workshops. You may also take medication Flouxetine (Fludac 10 mg) once daily along with alprazolam (Alprax 0.25 mg) at bed time for 1 month and after that only Flouxetine for 2-3 months under strict medical supervision. If you don't have above problems, then the treatment is different. It is as follows: Make your routines regular and disciplined. Take breakfast, lunch and dinner at fixed times. Take dinner between 8-9 am. Do not delay it. Better take a bath before dinner. (Use hot water in winters) Take plenty of water whole day. Take milk at bed time. Take til (lentil) in the form of tilkut ot til ke laddu two times daily to boost your serotonin as it contains precursor tryptophan. Play badminton or do dance before sleeping either before dinner or 1 hour after dinner. Take plenty of green vegetables, salad and green tea to boost vitamins and anti-oxidants. Increase daily exercises. Keep faith in God and do regular worships and help others. It causes release of pleasure causing and pain relieving endorphins and enkephalins and socializing hormone oxytocin in your brain and relieve tension and anxiety and would boost up sleep. Make your sleep-cycle regular. Go to bed early around 10-11 pm. Take melatonin 3 mg (marketed as Meloset) after dinner for 15 days-1 month to make your sleep cycles normal. It is a natural sleeping hormone which starts being synthesized in pineal body (3rd eye) of our brains in darkness in night after 7 pm and enough melatonin is formed till 10 pm and the persons goes to sleep. Til would also increase its synthesis along with serotonin as serotonin is precursor of melatonin. You may also take L-arginine 1gm sachets at bed time as it causes mental relaxation and boosts sexual energy. Do yoga, shavasan and meditation. Do self relaxation exercises. Listen to melodious old songs in low volume and not rocking songs of these days while retiring to bed. If you are married do sexual intercourse with your wife. It would also induce sleep.

kshitiz these are serious problems need to be tackled with caution and patience . your father need a thorough check up to evaluate the respiratory problem whether it is asthma or some other condition.and have to check his GI tract as well why he is having ulcers.try to give him more liquids and try to manage a vacation for him away from delhi pollution. recovery will be slow for this.u can send him to yoggram.

Breasts can be reduced by a surgery called breast reduction if they are very large. If there is a moderate enlargement and there is good amount of fatty tissue then liposuction can be considered. However it is best to have a consultation by a plastic surgeon.
