If your baby is" Active, Alert, passing urine-6-8 times/day, Accepting&tolerating breast milkand more important if above symptom does not hurt your baby. It might be just viral illness. Give only normal saline nebulisation. Most probably its just a viral imfection. Resolve spontenously.

My baby is 4 months old. My baby is sleeping at night times. But he is waking up 4 to 5 times. So that I am not sleeping much. Due to that I am feeling sleepy in the afternoon. But my mother-in-law is saying that if you sleep you will get headache in future which cannot be cured. But I can't stop myself without sleeping. Is sleeping in the afternoon really causes any affects.

No what your MIL says is old and baseless belief. It is normal for babies to wake up in between and trouble their mothers. It is part of motherhood! You can take rest/sleep when you are tired in afternoon.

Hello, I want to know Heart beat Maximum rate in Dengue Fever of 8 month's child, because my nephew had Dengue fever but his Maximum heart rate is 230 plus. So kindly tell me how to decrease heart rate of child.

MRCPCH
Pediatrician,
Hello, I want to know Heart beat Maximum rate in Dengue Fever of 8 month's child, because my nephew had Dengue fever ...
Raised heart rate in a child is a significant finding. Heart rate of 230 is very high. Definitely take baby to a paediatrician to get her checked. Dengue fever at 8 months has to be managed very closely by an experienced doctor. You can't manage significantly raised heart rate at home.

Since fever is not associated with any other symptom n lasting for 15 days, it is advisable to stop all medicine n to maintain temp chart 4 times in a day for 4 days. Give paracetamol 125 mg if temp > 100' F n repeat after 6-8 hours if needed. Get blood tested for GBP/ PBS and urine R/e. Give him normal light diet and keep well hydrated. Then you may come back. There is no harm to take an other opinion.

What can be the cause if a six year child dont show any interest towards study? is this to be taken much seriously?

MD - Paediatrics, FIAP (Neonatology)

Most of the children are interested towards play. So refrain from studies. Well if he doesn't shows interest in any thing then it can be iron deficiency. A detailed history and iq assesment is required for proper remedy.

The main cause is separation anxiety as you leave her with the maid for the daytime and you have to comfort her when ever you can and be with her all the time when you are at home. She will be fine as she grows up

5 Healthy Habits That Every Child Should Follow

Diploma in Paediatrics, MD (Physician)
Pediatrician, Gurgaon
5 Healthy Habits That Every Child Should Follow

Few things in life take longer than habits to be inculcated and eventually to die out. Every parent tries in his or her way to teach the child certain healthy habits, those that they wish would be followed long enough to be internalized by them. Certain healthy habits that every child should follow are:

  1. Include a lot of vegetables in the diet: There is an array of vegetables available in the market, which is replete with rich nutritional values. Though children are generally averse to the idea of eating vegetables, it is your duty to inculcate in them the habit of eating vegetables and constantly remind them of their rich nutritional benefits.
  2. Never skip breakfast: Breakfast is the most important meal of the day and is often the most ignored. Most children have the propensity to skip breakfast if they are late and generally they are seldom reprimanded by their parents. As a parent, you must make it a point not to take this lightly and severely insist on a healthy breakfast every morning.
  3. Indulge in physical activities: With the advent and easy access of technology, going out to play in has become a distant reality, one that is never explored. However, it goes without saying that nothing can substitute the physical and mental benefits that a physical activity entails. It not only keeps the body of your child fit but also helps in keeping the mind fresh.
  4. Read daily: Few things in life can be as rewarding and fulfilling as reading a book. However the habit does not come easy and as a parent it is your responsibility to induce in them this. Try to make your child read a few pages everyday till they take it up themselves out of their volition.
  5. Drink water and skip the soda: The many flavored sodas, which are available serve as a more palatable alternative to the drab water for the children. Though the choice may seem convenient, it must be snipped off right from the beginning. Sodas are packed with harmful preservatives and should be duly avoided by children. Instead, they must choose the bottle of water to quench the thirst.

I am 25 year old women. I have one child. My baby's give the milk is stopped before 10 months. But my breast is pain. Both two is pain if touch. And right brest is more painful. With my right hang back side is pain. I see one gynaecologist and take scan. In scanning repot is duct ectasia. What is this? it is cancer? I am worried. Please help me. What I do?

C.S.C, D.C.H, M.B.B.S
General Physician,
It is not cancer. You can put hot water bags or clothes dipped in hot water and take hifenac-p tab. If there is milk, express it out. What is the age of the baby? regarding online consultation there are certain points which all should know and follow the description of the diseases should be complete in all respects, including any tests done and any medicines already taking. Just saying I have diabetes since 10 years and taking metformin or I have thyroid disease, cannot help a discerning doctor give a scientific advice.

Listerine is not a good idea. Look for other causes of halitosis. Possible causes tonsils and adenoids. Caries, constipation.

Dear sir. I am a teacher. I want to know this. What are the symptoms of Dyslexia and dysgraphia?

BASM, MD, MS (Counseling & Psychotherapy), MSc - Psychology, Certificate in Clinical psychology of children and Young People, Certificate in Psychological First Aid, Certificate in Positive Psychology

Dear in the earlier childhood stages, diagnosis of dyslexia may be a little difficult. In older children or adults with dyslexia, these other signs may appear: trouble with reading, writing, and spelling. Ongoing trouble with schoolwork. Difficulty learning a foreign language. Poor handwriting. Difficulty remembering numbers. Trouble following a sequence of directions and telling left from right. The symptoms to dysgraphia are often overlooked or attributed to the student being lazy, unmotivated, not caring, or having delayed visual-motor processing. To diagnose dysgraphia, one must have more than one of the following symptoms: cramping of fingers while writing short entries odd wrist, arm, body, or paper orientations such as creating an l-shape with your arm excessive erasures mixed upper case and lower case letters inconsistent form and size of letters, or unfinished letters misuse of lines and margins inefficient speed of copying inattentiveness over details when writing frequent need of verbal cues referring heavily on vision to write poor legibility handwriting abilities that may interfere with spelling and written composition having a hard time translating ideas to writing, sometimes using the wrong words altogether may feel pain while writing.

Along with the baby, the mother also benefits physically and emotionally from breastfeeding. Due to the release of the prolactin hormones, a peaceful and nurturing sensation fills the mother.
