Since last 2-3 days I am having a constant fear of death. The thought revolves around heart attack. Though I did ecg last month which came out fine. Just sinus tachycardia. For sometime I feel fine and again the thought comes and feel anxious. The heart rate is 110 to 115. What could be reason for this. I am very scared.

Follow regular routines of getting all dietary measures and daily behaviours as well as exercise and yoga and morning walk every day. You need to learn meditation and practice two times daily. After regular practice of meditation your inner intelligence will be better and consciousness get awakened as well as your fears go away from anything and thus you feel better result.

I am 23 years old male I am facing a problem I urinate twice or thrice in a hour if I am at home and urine don't pass easily few burning sensation but not always and when I am out it wont come at all I drink 4 litres/day on a avg and it comes slowly what might it be p. Dear Lybrate user. I can understand. Memory and mind power depends on three aspects. Understanding, retention and recollection. Recollection is easy if your retention is proper and flawless. Retention is possible when you are able understand what you read or learn. To understand you should have concentration. Concentration comes from effective learning techniques based on creative and active learning. Physical exercise, outdoor games, entertainment, socializing coupled with systematic learning improves your memory and mind power. Vegetables, fruits and nuts are perfect for memory. Brain games like sudoku and jigsaw puzzles helps too. Avocados, Beetroots, Blueberries, Broccoli. Celery, Coconut Oil, Dark Chocolate etc are good for improving concentration and memory. I suggest online education counseling. Take care.

Dear Doctor, Psychiatrist I am having problem with occasional anxiety and fear of going far away from home (also fear of going in bus, train, plane) and get anxious in traffic, traffic signal and standing in line for shopping or waiting for purchasing ticket in line) having fear of getting panic/anxiety attack. Earlier, I had 9 month course of pristiq 50 mg ER (which helped), then psychiatrist replaced pristiq with (1 mg clonazepam, 0.5 mg alprazolam in the morning and 10 mg nitrazepam and 1 mg clonazepam in the night) I slowly tapered off from the 4th month itself from half of it to and came out of it in 10 month (very very low dose 0.25 mg clonazepam and 2.5 mg nitrazepam), (I had similar effect both from starting dose to ending dose) when I stopped, again I felt anxious, and different psychiatrist put me on 20 mg paxil (helped with anxiety but problem was always feeling drowsy) came out of it in 9 months. Then started taking some natural supplements and vitamins, since 8 months, now in 8 months I had anxious feeling 3 or 4 times only when I didn't get proper sleep or caught in traffic delay). Now my main problem is going far away from home (also fear of going in bus, train, plane) and get anxious in traffic, traffic signal and standing in line for shopping or waiting for purchasing ticket in line) having fear of getting panic/anxiety attack. My question is, 1) should I continue with natural routine to help completely coming out of agoraphobia? Is it a possibility? 2) should a course of SSRI/SNRI, (say for 9 months and assume) which will make me normal again and free of agoraphobia, and then discontinue the SSRI/SNRI. Is it possible that, I can be free of anxiety and agoraphobia without SSRI/SNRI after stopping SSRI/SNRI? (please note that, earlier SSRI/SNRI had side effect of sleeplessness and low sex drive, so I was not interested in it, but if it helps in long run say after 9 months or 1 year, I can be completely free of anxiety and agoraphobia, the I can go through the side effect? 3) If I do a say, 3 or 6 or 9 month course of alprazolam and clonazepam, and assume, which will make me normal again and free of agoraphobia, and then discontinue the alprazolam and clonazepam. Is it possible that, I can be free of anxiety and agoraphobia without alprazolam and clonazepam after stopping alprazolam and clonazepam? Please note that my anxiety/panic feeling is not very severe, but thinking of discomfort (in last 4 years, I had total of 4 or 5 panic/anxiety attack, lasted in less than 10 minutes, mostly shortness of breath and sometime heart palpitation or chest tightness) when going far away from my home makes me avoid the situation. I really appreciate your detailed guidance for my above query. Thank you very much for your help.

Apart from taking symptomatic treatment I will suggest you to take injection vitcofol 2 cc intramuscularly every alternate days for five pricks over the buttocks through a health professional and then we can think of tapering the dosage through your psychiatrist.

I have a daughter who is 9 yes old studying in 4 th standard. She is quite hypersensitive. However I am finding that she is witnessing concentration lapse in her daily studies. For example inspite of knowing arithmetic methods of addition, subtraction, multiplication or division she commits silly mistakes. Similarly while writing answer in English or hindi there are lot of spelling mistake. She hardly devotes more than 10 minutes in one stretch. Kindly suggest me either in form of medication or otherwise how to improve her concentration.

This is typical of her age - instead of worrying or scolding her, remain relaxed and ask her to check and recheck her work - as if she is a teacher, who will look for any mistakes. Make her practice in a fun way by using white board, scrabble, monopoly, asking her to write the grocery list etc. If still there is problem, consult a psychologist.

Your doctor is right. Please don't stop medication on your own. You are feeling better because these medicines are working on your body and mind. If you stop these medicines, your symptoms/problems will come up again. It is advisable to talk to your doctor about how long you need to take it, what side effects will it have or if these medicines are addictive etc. Also talk to your psychiatrist about seeking counsellor's help. Because, along with medicines, counselling will be very helpful for you. Later on, your pschiatrist and counsellor together can decide on tapering down/stopping your medicines, after evaluating your progress.

If you mean premature ejaculation then you need to check for any of the following: you are not exercising enough, you are getting too anxious, you may be smoking or drinking too much, you are overweight or suffer from high bp etc. If you suffer from panic and anxiety those are good enough reasons to cause all your sexual problems. Nearly 99% of sexual problems are psychological in nature. You must be cooperative for any system of intervention to work for you, more so if the cause is psychological. I advise you to meet with a sexologist and learn how your anxiety is only increasing your problems. That person will also teach you certain measures to be taken and exercised to allow a free mind in sexual matters. The brain is the most important sexual organ: anything that disturbs it will directly impact your libido and performance. In fact most of the physical excitement is dependent up on how the brain is stimulated and aroused. That is what is involved in porn and ads where female bodies are used in sexually titillating ways to arouse your attention and goad the sexual drive or buying impulse, respectively. You must explore what inhibitions or anxious thoughts prevent sexual arousal, and address those feelings to completely free yourself from their negative influences. The sexologist is your best bet. You could also go for intercourse a second time after a break of 20 minutes to get a delayed ejaculation. A third time will surely delay your ejaculate a lot more.

Hi there ~ anger can be managed by the use of relaxation techniques, pranayama and yoga. Meditation and mindfulness training is also useful. I am 28 years old married female. Right now I am facing problems in all the aspects of my life. My Parents : I know that my Dad is going around with other woman & my mom has discovered it. He keeps on manipulating her & tell me that he can't tolerate her behavior. But unfortunately I can't tell him that I know the truth & mom is right. Husband & inlaws : I got married in Nov 2013 & my husband is not having any work from last 2 years. He is freelancer & says that he can't do anything except films. Inlaws stay with us & I need to look after all the financial expenses. My Career : I left job & started own business in September 2014 in partnership. My husband told my business partner about the family situation & my partner has fallen for me. He is married with 2 kids. I tell him that its wrong & think about children. He is asking me for marriage. Whenever he asks & i say No , he tries to kill himself. One of my husband's relative, he is builder & rich man. My mother in law told him that My parents are rich & can take care of everything as I am daughter. And my husband asked him for financial help. So he knows the situation. He called me up & asked for marriage. I mean this is so pathetic, they think her husband is not earning so we can marry her. I am fed up of everything. Please help me.
