Dear, Tobacco is addictive. Cigarette also contains 4000+ carcinogenic chemicals other than nicotine. Smoking can affect your mouth, throat, lungs, heart, stomach and brain in many ways. Cancer is one among the potential diseases smoking can cause. The best method is to leave it and continue with your will power. There are other methods like Nicotine Replacement therapy and pharmacotherapy combined. Nicotine chewing gums too help as an alternative for cigarettes. But still you will need will power. You may consult a physician or deaddiction therapist or a rehabilitation facility for further advice. You can also opt for online deaddiction therapy. Take care.

Your senior has also worked with you for 20 years and knows you well for these many years. If he is taking away jobs but not giving you any in return, then maybe you have not been performing satisfactorily. Today there are a lot of youngsters ready to do more and for less salary. This therefore threatens the senior people who have put in many years of service. Although experience is very useful, if you are replaceable by others for less, then your job is most likely threatened. So you should either brush up and perform better or learn something new to favor your job. In today?s world there is a lot happening in the work arena and new updates are happening quite frequently. You may also talk to this senior and find out what is happening to your jobs and why is he doing what he is doing. Then he will know that you are aware and he will have to give you reasonable answers and be careful around you too. You don?t have to go mad depending up on your job and skill set. If you are in demand job wise you need not worry too much.

If you want to live with her, then get a better job and accommodation. That is a very reasonable ask, really. Anyway, you are way too young to think of marriage and even if you do so now, you must make proper plans. Ideally, you must get everyone's support too. By the time you grow up some, you may change your mind about a lot of things. If after a few years of working,earning, saving, getting better accommodation you can decide if this is your true love. Talk to the girl and if she agrees with what I am saying, I am sure you will do the sensible thing. Both of you must be on the same page about your future. With time even your family members may change their mind. So, be patient and in the meantime get things done.

I am a 23 yr old male, I am in severe pain whenever I blow air from mouth like filling up a balloon. Pain and swelling is just below the cheeks, Within a few hrs pain and swelling vanishes as if nothing happened. This occurs only when I blow air.

Mr. Lybrate-user, if hypothyroidism is well controlled then efforts to reduce weight will be successful. For adequate control of hypothyroidism tsh levels should be around 3 to 4 mili units/l. So please check the levels and inform. Only workout is not going to help, there has to be a properly planned diet, that provides calories based on your ideal body weight and workouts. Should avoid high fatty foods, junk foods, sweetened aerated drinks and pastries. Also refrain from alcohol and smoking. Workout has to be intense, preferably under guidance. Taks for the question.

I am asking just a general question that I have seen people who are heavy smokers and smoking 1-2 pack if cigarettes daily & they seem to have healthy skin & I who smokes alternatively & just 2-3 cigarettes is getting skin problems like roughness, irregular skin & facial burning. Skin texture and response to smoke varies between individual to individuals, some will be sensitive, some resistant to smoking ill effects. These things cannot be generalized

Lybrate-user, its a myth that masturbation will drain you or is unhealthy. You don't have to feel guilty about it at all. Till the time its rewarding and not a hindrance you can carry on with it. Its natural. But if you feel its in excess or want to stop it for other reasons, consult with a psychologist for psychotherapy- to learn to deal ways to curb it. All the best.

Dear Rajesh, Your father needs to consult a psychiatrist with all his medical reports. All psychiatric treatments take time to become effective. For that you need to consult the psychiatrist repeatedly. Of course you are welcome to change the doctor without discontinuing the treatment by the previous one and taking a referral letter from the previous psychiatrists. Otherwise each one will start with the first line, will not be able to assess you for the effectiveness. No one will be able to go for resistant depression treatment.

Hi lybrate-user, it seems you have anxiety and negative thoughts which are irrational. Practice Mindful Breathing The primary goal of mindful breathing is simply a calm, nonjudging awareness, allowing thoughts and feelings to come and go without getting caught up in them. Sit comfortably, with your eyes closed and your spine reasonably straight. Bring your attention to your breathing. Imagine that you have a balloon in your tummy. Every time you breathe in, the balloon inflates. Each time you breathe out, the balloon deflates. Notice the sensations in your abdomen as the balloon inflates and deflates. Your abdomen rising with the in-breath, and falling with the out-breath. Thoughts will come into your mind, and that’s okay, because that’s just what the human mind does. Simply notice those thoughts, then bring your attention back to your breathing. Likewise, you can notice sounds, physical feelings, and emotions, and again, just bring your attention back to your breathing. You don’t have to follow those thoughts or feelings, don’t judge yourself for having them, or analyse them in any way. It’s okay for the thoughts to be there. Just notice those thoughts, and let them drift on by, bringing your attention back to your breathing. Whenever you notice that your attention has drifted off and is becoming caught up in thoughts or feelings, simply note that the attention has drifted, and then gently bring the attention back to your breathing. It's okay and natural for thoughts to enter into your awareness, and for your attention to follow them. No matter how many times this happens, just keep bringing your attention back to your breathing. Also, we need to do cognitive behavior therapy to help you with negative irrational thoughts. Don't worry at all you can overcome this with right treatment. All the best.

Hello the event had an impact on you and you seem to be experiencing depressed mood state. You should try talking to that friend to find out the reason and make things work out. If not then You should move on and try to distract yourself from these thoughts and involve yourself in other activities that you like. Exercise and meditate daily to uplift your mood.

HI, It is great you have identified your problem your self. All you have to do is slowly start moving around during your work time. Take time out and walk, cycle, skip rope for 30 minutes a day. Remember being active is a conscious decision, start less using your bike, start using mobile apps to record your number of steps per day and slowly try to increase them. Movement is life.

How to improve concentration on anything I am not able to concentrate on any thing what to do I am feeling so lazy.

Hi. Homoeopathic medicines are very effective for increasing concentration and if done with yoga, will give you great results! But practice the following poses if you don’t have any medical condition or pregnancy or else take an advice from your concern doctor and then only perform these. 1.Shashankasana: Sit in Vajrasana with hands on the thighs. The upper body is straight and relaxed. Inhaling raise both arms above the head. Exhaling keep the back straight and bend upper body and arms forward from the hips, until arms and forehead touch the floor. The buttocks remain on the heels. Breathing normally remain in this position for a while. Relax the whole body, especially the shoulders, neck and back. Inhaling keep the back straight and raise the upper body and arms. Exhaling return to the starting position. Practice the exercise 3 times in total. Remain bending forward for sometime and consciously perceive the movement of the breath on the spine. 2.Virasana: Sit in Vajrasana. Hands rest on the thighs and the body is relaxed. Bring the left foot beside the right knee with the sole of the foot flat on the floor. Place the left elbow on the left knee and rest the chin in the hand. Right hand rests on the right thigh. Tuck the toes of the right foot under. The right knee remains in contact with the floor. Transfer the weight onto the right heel. Concentrate on a fixed point in front. Breathing normally remain in this position for as long as comfortable. Return to the starting position. Repeat on the other side. 3.Sit in Vajrasana. Body is straight and hands rest on the thighs. Relax the whole body. Inhaling stretch the arms above the head, then bring them behind the back and grasp the left wrist with the right hand. Exhaling bend the body forward from the hips, keeping the back straight, until the forehead touches the floor. The buttocks remain on the heels. Breathing normally concentrate on the whole body and relax. Remain in this position for as long as comfortable. Inhaling slowly bring the body upright. At the same time stretch the arms above the head. Exhaling return to the starting position. Medication: Take homoeopathic medicine - Anacardium 200/ once daily.

  4. Arsenicum Album: Arsenicum Album is a constitutional remedy that can treat both chronic and acute problems. This works well on people who are worried about safety and security. If issues like health, money and break-ins are the cause of your anxiety, this homeopathic remedy is ideal for you. It also helps deal with restlessness. 
  5. Calcarea Carbonica: This is a homeopathic remedy made from the middle layer of sea shells that has a number of applications. When it comes to anxiety, Calcarea Carbonica is well suited for people who are scared of change and over controlling. This anxiety is accompanied by excessive sweating due to any exertion and stubbornness. Such people are also often afraid of animals and of the dark and get easily confused.
