I am 75 years old mail suffering from secondary metastatic lung lesions and CA 19.9 is 740. I had 12 doses of chemo but the problem is not completely cured. Since it is told that frozen lemon helps in controlling cancer I want to know how much frozen lemon shall I take for better result per day and also whether I can take it in water because vegetables etc. Can not accommodate much. Shall be grateful for your advise.

DNB, MBBS
Oncologist, Faridabad
You have carcinoma pancreas with lung metastases. Vegetables and frozen lemon have protective role but it can not be considered as therapeutic. For treatment chemotherapy is the only option but ofcourse other supportive food do help in enhancing immunity and increase tolerance to treatments.

My mother has breast cancer. Her chemotherapy is going on. It is known to us that during the period of chemotherapy there is a chance of muscle pain. She sometimes suffers from that. It isn't possible to bring a physician every time. So I've to serve her. What should be the best way to give her a physiotherapy to reduce her muscle pain for that time. Please suggest something.

Chemotherapy drugs such as paclitaxel or docetaxel may cause myalgia , arthralgia for few days after each cycle. Depending on the severity use of analgesics for few days will be helpful.

Mr. Yash. As I have gone through your problem I have to tell you that With lung tuberculosis you had cold abscess in chest wall Which occurs due to involvement of chest bones like mid chest bone sternum ribs joints of sternum and ribs this can be single or multiple this happens due to low immunity of the patient,as for treatment is concerned you are taking proper treatment some times surgical evacuation of the pus or underlying bone is to be taken out to get rid of repeated problems. Plz take care of your diet take high protein diet fruits milk as told by your treating doctor. I hope you will improve I don’t think you have any other diseases.

Doctors said, he is in last stage of cancer, it began in his throat and spread inside the stomach, he neglected his health and now he is unable to swallow even water, he was under treatment in Tata cancer research hospital they also lost hope and said no to him, now tell me is there any hope left? Is there any charity or financial help because he and his family has bankrupt.

DNB, MBBS
Oncologist, Faridabad
Cancer seems to have spread to other organs so it is a stage IV disease. You can do a gastrostomy or Peg for feeding and put him on best supportive care, providing him comfort and treating symptomatically. Beyond this, we would have to evaluate personally and see all the treatment records to advise further. There are NGOs which help in financial aids helping patients in completing treatment.

Hi, as you mentioned your father is already underwent 3 Cycles of chemotherapy and not responding very well, any type of cancer is itself very dangerous, it get more dangerous when it metastasis, you need to keep hope and l have consultation from medico oncologist doctor. He can advice you better, chemotherapy its self is very dangerous treatment, but its last option for treating cancer.

I'm 37 years old woman. In 2013 gone through surgery of colon cancer. Juz want to know r there any chances of recurrence. And wat diet should I follow. As I suffer from severe leg pain side effect of chemo.

Oncologist, Gurgaon
Having colorectal cancer at such a young age indicates familial tendency. Regular follow up with colonoscopy, blood test and imaging is required. After 5 years chances of disease coming back decrease but the chances of new cancer may be there. You can follow a normal balanced diet, no problem. Don't let your weight increase more than normal lomits. Some leg pain due to chemo may be there after so many years, for that continue to do regular exercise and physiotherapy.
