My tooth is going sensitive. & tooths back colour is bad (dirty). What I do improve it?

My tooth is going sensitive. & tooths back colour is bad (dirty). What I do improve it?
A major cause of tooth sensitivity is root exposure. Kindly consult a dentist in person for further suggestion. We need more investigations with clinical examination to decide upon treatment. You may need cleaning along with desensitizing procedures and / or artificial enamel filling and / or root canal treatment. Advance procedures can be done with laser too. You may consult me in person. Until then apply a desensitizing paste (Sensodyne Tooth paste) on the teeth. Wait for 10 to 15 min until you brush your teeth with the same paste. Applying it overnight will be better.

Hi lybrate-user, you need to visit a dentist for every six months and get the check up done so that you can know the problem at the earliest. Avoiding soft drinks completely is much better. Atleast avoid taking any food especially carbohydrates one hour before and after having a soft drink as the acidic content in it will cause demineralization of your teeth.

Is it More Important to Brush Your Teeth in the Night Than in the Morning?

Why it's more important to brush your teeth in the night than in the morning

Most people wake up every morning and stumble to wash their teeth first thing. Do you believe that brushing your teeth in the morning is sufficient to keep your mouth healthy?

While it is important to brush your teeth in the morning for good oral hygiene, what goes on in your mouth all night is even more important. Brushing your teeth once a day is barely enough to maintain perfect oral hygiene. By brushing twice a day you can make the difference.

Do you know why it can be important to brush at night since you are only about to sleep?

Here are a few things that brushing before bed does.

1. Reduces acid build up

Everyone has acid being constantly produced in their mouths. The saliva secreted contains calcium which neutralizes the acid being built up. At night the saliva secretion slows down which allows the acids to get accumulated. The acids keep corroding the teeth all night. When you brush your teeth, the fluoride present in the toothpaste stimulates saliva secretion. So by brushing before bed you ensure that the saliva secretion does not fall drastically. In the process you prevent your teeth from getting corroded.

2. Reduces bacterial multiplication

The saliva in our mouth not only neutralizes the acid it reduces bacteria from multiplying as well. During the reduced saliva production, as you sleep, the bacteria in your mouth multiply manifold and attack your teeth and gums. This is why keeping your saliva secretion regular by brushing before bed is of utmost importance.

3. Reduces the decay of food particles

After you have your dinner just rinsing your mouth is not enough. Tiny food particles that get stuck in your teeth rot overnight. It is best to go to bed with a clean mouth rather than a mouth with tiny decaying food particles.

No matter how much of a task it might seem like, brushing at night is as important, if not more important, than brushing in the morning.

'consult'.

I am a 18 years male. But I have tooth problems. When I am brush mouth has been bleeding. What should I do.

Mr. Lybrate-user, you should immediately consult your nearest dentist and get it checked. Bleeding from mouth (gums) when you brush is a common sign of periodontitis also known as pyorrhoea. Ideally you should get a professional cleaning done from a gum specialist (periodontist) which should help you in reducing the bleeding.

Does having teeth pain while drinking water having that sensations of feeling like sudden current or blood coming from teeth are anything related to std?

No. STD has got nothing to do with sensitive teeth. Although bleeding gums might be a long term repercussion of any such disease. If you are having a doubt of an STD, first get it ruled out by consulting a Dermatologist/Venereologist. Your Dentist will take care of the rest of the dental problems, once your STD status is ruled out.

I may recommend an improved daily home-care regimen for your teeth, including adding antiseptic mouthwash to your routine. If pockets of germs have formed around the teeth and gums are beginning to pull away from the teeth, a deep cleaning with your dentist or periodontist (a dentist who specializes in gum disease).

I have a small hard lump beside my last molar. It is extremely painful. My teeth pains sometimes too if there's food stuck in it. Does it look like cancer?

Dear Lybrate User, Try not to worry by labelling the lump as Cancer. The lump or swelling might have cropped up due to some infection of the teeth or the gums and needs to be investigated by a dentist. Such lumps or swellings could be thoroughly and easily investigated by your dentist or a specialist dentist and if need be, a biopsy can be done to rule out any malignancy. At this point though, try not to be anxious and immediately get yourself examined by a dentist. Good Luck!

You are suffering from sensitivity. Most of the time, pain stops in few mins, isn't it? consult a dentist & get your full mouth examination. There are many reasons to have sensitivity. Your doctor will prescribe you some desensitizing paste or he may advise you some fillings to treat the problem.
