Yes it can be due to osteoporosis her spine is getting tilted or knee joint or hip joint is getting compressed that makes her feel her leg shorter. You need to see an orthopedic surgeon asap. Don't ignore as it can be dangerous since she is already in menopausal stage.

It can be due to infections in food pipe get a stool test done just to get confirmation give deworming dose anyway. Give antiparasitic medicine metrogyl syrup, a spoon a day after food for 3 days wait and watch don't feed him oils and fats more simple proteins like toned milk and curds and carbohydrates of his choice like daal roti chawal subji and little salt and lots of water reduce his activities if he is Hyper personality a tired body doesn't feel like eating.

You must have had viral pain ,post fever in viral infection you do have joint and bony pains. Take vit B complex capsule daily ,drink lots of fluids, take tab calpol for pain relief .this pain will take some time to go.

Get more vegetables and fruits, eat lesser quantity but frequent meals. Every morning take three teaspoon of Apple Cider Vinegar ( unfiltered, raw with mother vinegar ) mixed in one full glass of lukewarm water 30 minutes before breakfast. Eat more Protein and fibres , lesser carbohydrates and fats. Eat 4litres of water daily. Get your Vitamin D3 and Thyroid Profile checked ( Free T3, Free T4 TSH, TPO Antibody ). Hope it helps.

Gone are the days when back pain affected a person only in their old age. Nowadays, almost every second person suffers from some kind of a backache. From sedentary lifestyle to certain diseases and ailments, the back pain can result from the amalgamation of various factors, making the condition painful (mild to chronic) and uncomfortable to the hilt.   • Lumbar spinal stenosis: Stenosis of the lumbar spine results in severe back pain, especially in the lower half (lumbar area), triggered by narrowing down of the spinal canal.
  • Osteoporosis of the spine: This is a bone disorder where the bones become so porous, thin and weak that they start to crack and break (including those of the spine), a condition known as vertebral compression fractures. These fractures are a common cause of weakness and back pain.
  • Shingles: This is a viral infection (varicella-zoster virus) characterized by the appearance of a rash which is often painful. Shingles can occur in any part of the body including the spine. The viral infection in the spine is what triggers the back pain.
  • Spinal Cancer, muscle spasm or ligament tear and strain on the back can give rise to back pain.
  • Back pain can also be an outcome of rupture or disorder of the discs that act as a defensive shield between the spinal vertebrae.

Lifestyle practices:

  1. Leading a sedentary life can be dangerous, often causing back pain.
  2. People who are overweight or obese (especially the lower half) are known to suffer from a back pain.
  3. In many people, rigorous exercise and physical activities can be a major contributing factor, triggering a back pain.
  4. Women who wear high heels are more susceptible to developing a back pain.
  5. In addition to these, bad posture, stress, a poor quality mattress can equally contribute to back pain.
  6. Do not neglect the condition if the pain persists for more than a week. Get medical assistance to avoid further deterioration and complication.

lybrate-user, Thanks for the query. When on treatment for hypothyroidism, it is essential to control TSH very well. It should be maintained <3 mU/L for being free from all the symptoms of hypothyroidism including swelling of face and legs & feet. Therefore, it is necessary for you to increase the dosage of thyroxine tablets to 12.5 mcg, then check TSH after 6 weeks. By then if TSH level reaches the desired number, then continue the same if not then dose may have to be increased by another 12.5 mcg and TSH should be checked again after 6 weeks. Thanks.

Joint pains or muscles cramps are the usual suspects when it comes to leg pain. Joint pains are usually a symptom of arthritis, a common occurrence during old age. Leg muscles are mostly affected by muscle cramps. From an Ayurvedic point of view, all pains are caused by the vata dosha.

What are doshas?
The doshas define the natural inclination of the body and they comprise the three main energies that affect your health and well-being. The three doshas are Pitta, Vata and Kapha. Thus in Ayurveda, pain is caused when the doshas are vitiated. In Ayurveda, ama is the name given to the toxic materials in the body that are caused by improper indigestion.   1. Clove: It provides instant relief from pain, especially if they are due to muscle cramps. Apply clove oil in a poultice over the affected area.
  2. Ginger: Since ginger has great painkiller properties, it can be added to a regular diet to deal with chronic leg pain.
  3. Liquorice: Muscle aches can be treated with liquorice roots infused in water overnight.
  4. Madhuca: Applying madhuca oil over leg pains, especially if they are due to rheumatism, then it can give great results.
  5. Pepper: Pepper aids in proper blood circulation by helping dilating the superficial blood vessels.

Dietary regulations for leg pain: To help with chronic leg pain, leafy vegetables, green vegetables, Vitamin C-rich foods, plantains that are rich in potassium, magnesium and calcium must be consumed.
