Height increase will happen naturally till 16-18 years for boys. More activities and games can help him increase height to his optimum level. However height is also based on genes. To reduce weight follow these steps. 1. To lose weight/belly fat make healthy food choices and add more exercise/activity. 2. Add 2-3 Fruits per day taken 30 mins before meals. 3. ‎Eat plain roti/rice with dal with a bowl of salad in each meal. 4. Cut down Sweets/Biscuits/Colas / Fruit Juice from your diet. 5. You can not lose weight by eating oats or having green tea. Such advice is highly exaggerated. Green tea or oats have beneficial nutrition, however, they have no magical powers to reduce any weight. To lose weight, you need to reduce overall calories per day and do regular exercise. In your case you need to follow 1000 calories per day diet. That way you will be able to lose about 2-3 kgs in a month. Best will be to consult a dietician who can customise a diet plan for you. That will be a better approach.

Recently TSH report found as 7.8 and the doctor prescribed Thyrox-25. After from the medicine please advise me some effective home remedy so that it can be normal quickly. I heard that in case of high TSH, weight increases but patient’s weight is decreasing. Is it normal? In addition, is it current, high TSH value mainly affects throat and its size? Because of any reason if TSH value becomes normal, is there any change again for its abnormal value?

There is no home remedy for Hypothyroidism. Please take medicine regularly and do test every six months. In case the TSH comes down to normal, the doctor can advise you to reduce / remove medicines. Else you have to take it continuously, there is no other option. Weight loss or gain may fluctuate a bit, about 2-3% only. High TSH does not effect throat size. There is nothing abnormal in it. It happens to many people. Its perfectly fine, no need to worry. Just take your medicines regularly and be happy.

If you want to take light foods you can take simple rice + dal or curdrice or poha. Also you can take lot of fluids like water, butter milk, coconut water. In addition if you walk a bit you will feel relieved.

Weight control is 70% diet & 30% exercise. One hour of exercise may burn 300 calories which can be negated by just one samosa. You can do any exercise, be it gym or running or zumba, ultimately your weight is going to depend on the diet. Take a 1400 calories diet to lose about 2 kgs a month.

Such medicines which promise weight loss will only make you lose money and time, nothing else. Excess weight needs a long term commitment to change food habits and lifestyle. Stop taking all such medicines, supplements, shakes, green tea etc. Stop looking for short cuts because there is no quick path to fitness. Consult a dietitian who can customise a permanent holistic solution for your health. Step by step you can be fit. 1.Work on 1-2 years time horizon to solve your health challenges. 2. Add 2-3 Fruits per day taken 30 mins before meals. 3. ‎Eat plain roti/rice with dal with a big bowl of salad in each meal. 4. Cut down Sweets/Biscuits/Colas / Fruit Juice from your diet. 5. Completely eliminate Puris/Parathas/Pizzas/Burgers/Fried Rice etc 6. Exercise daily - 'Intense' Cardio exercises for 40-60 mins. This will keep you slim and trim.

Healthy diet does not mean starvation. It means replacing high calories junk food with better and healthier options like fruits, salads, sprouts. It also means doing daily exercise to stay fit and trim. Exams will keep happening all your life, it does not mean you neglect your health and fitness. Devote one hour to outdoor jogging / gymming etc to stay fit. Try to follow these steps. 5.
