Dear Lybrate User, You must realise that 'Obesity' is not the real issue. The real issue is eating excess calories, making poor food choices, lack of sufficient exercise. You have to address these root causes. Also there is no Medicine for Weight Loss. Please follow these steps to change your food style. Add more 2-3 Fruits to your daily diet. Double your water intake..>> Cut down Sweets/Biscuits/ Colas/Juices from your diet..>> Completely eliminate Puris/Parathas/Pizzas/Burgers/Fried Rice/Biryani etc.>> Eat slowly and mindfully. Reduce portion size..>> Exercise daily - 'Intense' Cardio for 40-60 mins. This will keep you toned and trim..>> Love yourself and respect your body.

Walk is a good exercise. Continue it. Reduce oily foods and sweets. Drink more water and take 2-3 fruits daily. Target at reducing 2 kgs per month. This way in one year you will be completely fit and fine.

2-3 cups of any tea are not harmful at all. Tea is a mild stimulant with some antioxidants which are good for the body. However tea will not help you in your weight loss except a few grams here and there. If you want to lose weight, follow these tips. Add more 2-3 Fruits to your daily diet. Double your water intake. Cut down Sweets/Biscuits/ Colas/Juices from your diet. Completely eliminate Puris/Parathas/Pizzas/Burgers/Fried Rice/Biryani etc. Eat slowly and mindfully. Reduce portion size. Exercise daily - 'Intense' Cardio for 40-60 mins. This will keep you toned and trim. Love yourself and respect your body.

Aspire to be fit and smart and slim. Aim for long term weight loss @ 2 Kg per month = 12 kgs in 6 months. Add more 2-3 Fruits to your daily diet. Double your water intake. There is no medication for hunger, but you can try to have multivitamin tablets plus take a dose of deworming tablets. Do daily exercise of 60 mins. These can help to increase appetite.

I think after Jaundice, you have/were forced to eat excess food to make up for the loss of health during jaundice. Kindly reduce the amount of oily and sugary foods in your diet. Eat more of veggies, salads, sprouts, fruits, water, buttermilk etc. Ensure that you drink more water. Do daily exercise / walk / yoga of 60 mins. Aim to reduce 2 kgs per month and you will get back to your original weight in an years time.

Your daily calorie needs are about 1700 calories to maintain weight. If you want to reduce weight you should plan about one kg a month less. For that your daily calories intake should be about 1400 calories. This way you can reduce about 8-10 kgs in 10 months.

I am suffering from pcod and related infertility from 3 years. I am 28 yrs. With 2 hours of gym I am unable to lose around 1 kg per month. I want to know what I should eat in order to help my insulin resistance and lose weight. Everyone says low carb diet. But indian food is more or less carb diet. I need specifics to help my issue.

Breakfast - One slice of bread + one egg + sprouts. Lunch one roti + salad bowl + dal bowl. Dinner - Rice bowl + Veg grill + beans bowl. This is just one example of how you can reduce carbs i.e by having equal amount of veg/salad/dal/sprouts/protiens etc. Also if you want to reduce carbs, cut down all maida and replace with multigrain atta. Stop white rice and take hand pound rice/brown rice/millets. This way you can reduce carbs and replace them with good protiens or complex carbs.

All these drinks and herbs are just health drinks with vitamins and minerals, however they have no impact on your weight. You can't reduce weight by these shortcuts because there is not short cut to weight loss. The only way to reduce weight is to cut down your calories intake and do some bit of walking / climbing stairs / home yoga/exercises. Eat 3 fruits / 3 bowl salads daily. Take only one roti per meal with a lot of dal. Cut down all chips / Colas / fried foods / Biscuits / Namkeen etc. You can use 'Myfitnesspal' app to monitor your exact calories and weight loss progress.

To gain some weight, you need to eat healthy and natural food + daily exercise. Take at least two fruits per day and one glass fruit juice. Eat 20 almonds & 5 dates daily. Drink full cream milk, curd, lassi, banana shakes etc. If your are Non veg you can have more eggs, chicken, fish.  For Veg - have more dals, rajma, kabuli chana, soya beans etc. Avoid junk food and colas. Avoid chips and other namkeen. No need for any extra supplements. Natural diet is best. Go for 30 mins walks / exercise / yoga daily. Feel confident about yourself. All the best!
