Hye, Thanks for the query. Gaining weight requires you to eat more calories than you burn. Although fried or sugary foods are calorie dense, eating them exclusively won’t provide enough nutrition to keep you energetic and healthy. Eating several meals and snacks throughout the day and including nutritious, calorie-dense food will help you gain weight healthfully. Weight gain depends primarily on your genetics, age, weight and activity level. To gain weight, you need to eat more calories than you burn. If you’re not used to eating large quantities of food at one time, you may find it difficult to fit all of your calories into three meals per day. Eating nutritious, calorie-dense foods every two to three hours will help you get your calories in without making you overly full and sluggish. If you tend to forget to eat or are always on the go, bring calorie-dense snacks such as eggs, mixed nuts, fruits and dairy. Nutritious, calorie-dense foods provide essential vitamins and minerals, which promote good health and energy. Adding ghee and cream to foods adds additional calories for very little extra physical bulk. Fruit juice, masala milk provides crucial nutrients. Meal-replacement shakes and protein powder sound like good options but also remember that unless your diet is not planned sadly they won't help.

Dear lybrate-user, it is important to lose weight and protect yourself from all health problems associated with obesity. I suggest you should take a customized diet plan from my clinic to see effective weight loss (3 - 5 kg in a month). Few general tips for you are as below 1. Eat small and frequent 4 -5 meals in a day, instead of 3 heavy meals. 2. Drink 3 -4 lts of water daily. 3. Include high-protein foods like milk and milk products, paneer, dals, soybeans, eggs, chicken/fish (if non-vegetarian). Reduce excess carbohydrate intake like rice, banana, chips, burgers, pizzas, etc 4. Minimize sugar intake in the form of sweets, cakes, pastries, chocolates, etc 5. Use less of oil to cook your food as well as stop eating fried stuff like puris, chips, samosas, etc. 6. Include 30 minutes brisk walks 5-6 times a week.

My wife passed 1 years after her pregnancy, she enter her mens cycle after about 5 to 6 month later her delivery. But suddenly she got huge amount of bleed previous month. Two pad requires within 6 hr. We consult with Dr. And he give SYSRON NCR tablet for 20 days with iron folic tablet. But after completing that course she start bleeding again. My wife took rest after delivery about 8 weeks. My wife had C-SECTION delivery. After that normal house work done by her as we are alone. Is it normal for lactating women? Should I get worried about that? I am very tensed, please help me.

It is expected for a lactating woman to have slightly irregular periods, but if the bleeding is very heavy, it is advisable to consult the doctor. Heavy bleeding can be due to certain other reasons and hormonal disorders apart from a repeat pregnancy. Hence it is better to meet the doctor. 8 weks rest after C section is enough, so please don't worry.

Diabetes affects all organs in the body ? Eyes, kidneys, nerves, reproductive system all are affected, In fact, from toe to hair. For diabetic control, patient and doctor should be n constant touch for regular follow up and advice. It is not as easy task to control blood sugar in the desired normal range. Whatever we eat is metabolised to sugar in the body to provide energy for our daily activities. For the absolute control, one has to monitor his / her blood sugar at regular intervals (Self-Monitoring of Blood glucose ? SMBG). Though difficult, this can be done by a glucometer and keep a record. Get an idea of Fasting sugar (FBS) and 2 hours after food (PPBS),& HbA1C ( inform me ) and check before dinner and after every major food. The basic idea is to reduce the food intake to 1/3 of what you take now. The dictum of sugar control is diet, exercise, diet + medicine and at later stage medicine+ Insulin will be needed. There are different diet plans of varying calories for each person depending on his activity & life style. For sugar control there is the need for regular advice and follow up. Just one time consultation or advice is not enough to guide a diabetic in scientifically & medically correct manner. For giving you regular follow up you ask me privately with all details like your daily eating pattern and medicines you take.

Start small. Do for 10 min daily then increase the time. Put a video of any motivational fitness model, listen to good music.

Hello. This could be due to diabetic vasculopathy. Blood supply to your arm could be affected by the blood vessel occlusion. You must diagnose it earlier to prevent further worsening. There are ways to open the blockage. Feel free to take my consultation uf you need.

It is very important for you to remove fried foods from your diet if you have any intentions of losing weight. •Make sure that you do not include fried chicken, fried meat, fried rice or any other fried snacks in your daily diet. •If you completely eliminate fried foods you can see remarkable changes in your weight in a month or two.
