Breakups are always very painful and often lead to a negative state of being. one feel rejected and self esteem suffers. This point of time you need to try certain activities. 1. try to accept that this has happened nd gone, pen out feelings nd realease it completely or talk it out with one you trust. 2. try not to sit alone for long. 3. visit new places and try making new memories for yourself. 4. join some health club, this will help you to connect with your own body. 5. join some sports of your interest or a hobby you forgot long back..this bring the self esteem back. 6. get in touch with your friends, this helps you give a broader view of situation. 7. go out with or spend some time with is a shock absorber. 8. lndulge in new learning, a course of your choice. 9. Try to be a little help at home. 10. if still you feel stuck, seek professional help. psychotherapy can help miraculously. take care and stay blessed.

Dear doctor my mother is 36 year old and she losses hair fall too much that's also we have done many satisfied doctors in our city but no result is coming out so i request you to please give me the perfect and suitable traet plan so we can.......

Homeopath, Faridabad
Dear doctor my mother is 36 year old and she losses hair fall too much that's also we have done many satisfied doctor...
Hi. Let me tell you about hairfall. In layman's language, hairfall can be divided into 2 types - temporary hairfall and permanent (which is called as 'Hairloss' rather). In temporary hairfall, hair grows back again from the same hair root, but in case of permanent hairloss, may be because of formation of DHT (Di- Hydro -Testosterone) around hair root it gets choked up, subsequently affects the blood supply to the hair and thus hair root is lost forever. (There are different pattern and types of hairloss, because of different reasons like Alopecia Areata, Telogen Effluvium, Scarring Alopecia, Traction Alopecia, etc.) Causes of hairloss: Many factors are responsible formation of this DHT or male/ female pattern baldness - hereditary, post-illness/ ailment, post-delivery, post- chemotherapy, nutritional deficiencies, hormaonal imbalance, insufficient sleep, sudden loss of weight, stress/ tensions/ excessive anger, use of bore water, any other underlying diseases, etc. Management: Take diet rich in protein like non-veg., eggs, pulses, legumes, sprouts, nuts (sp. walnut and almonds), iron-rich food like green vegetables, also take flaxseeds, green tea, soyabean, fruits, salads, etc. Take proper 6-9hrs of sound sleep. Give up the habit of smoking and excessive alcohol intake. Avoid junk food and any kind of beverages (tea, coffee, aerated drinks, cold drinks, etc.) Avoid canned/ tinned food or food that contains preservatives (eat fresh ones). Avoid use of harsh hair colour, hair treatment like rebonding, straightening, perming, etc. Avoid vigorous exercises or any supplements provided by the gym! Use Rose wood/ any wooden hair comb to brush your hair. Regular exercising is also one of the important point, but should be done under some good, qualified yoga teacher or instructor for proper guidance; it also releases the stress/ tension in the mind and the body and keeps you FIT and YOUNG!! Medication: Take homoeopathic Rx - Schwabe's Wiesbaden 200, Alfalafa Tonic - both twice a day for 1 month and revert. Also, use Schwabe's Arnica shampoo and Hair Growth oil regularly as per the condition of your scalp (minimum 3 times a week). After shampooing, use Bakson's Arnica Hair conditioner as well after every head wash. Apart from this, take Follihair tablets (multivitamin) - 1 tab. daily once for 1 month. Investigations advised: Get your blood tested for (empty stomach) - CBC, S. Iron, S. Folic acid, S. Ferritin, S. Calcium, S. Vitamin D3, S. Vitamin B12. If there is any family history of Thyroid dysfunction, get Thyroid function test done as well.

Scar Solutions after Male Breast Reduction Surgery

DNB (Plastic Surgery), MCh, MBBS
Cosmetic/Plastic Surgeon, Surat
Scar Solutions after Male Breast Reduction Surgery

Depending on the techniques used, surgery for gynecomastia leaves scars which are in different places, and they may be more or less visible or acceptable to the man. There is no such thing as truly scarless surgery for gynecomastia. Given time most scars heal well and will be barely visible. The choice of which technique is used and where the scars should be discussed with the surgeon carrying out the procedure. Each surgeon and each man considering surgery will have their own thoughts and preferences, so the options should be discussed and all parties can agree on one approach. Although uncommon, some men do unfortunately have problems with their scars, either during the early phase – such as bleeding or infection – or later after the procedure if the scars become hypertrophic or keloid.

There is unfortunately no way to prevent scar tissue after any surgery. The goal is to minimize scar after surgery. Gynecomastia surgery is not deemed medically necessary nor is the removal of the resulting scars, but many men suffer severe psychological distress making solutions essential. Scar tissue for procedures  including the perioareolar region for gynecomastia are usually barely visible but it can persist for many months till it heals in that way.

Scar tissue is the body’s normal way of healing and some patients have excessive wound healing and scar healing responses and this can lead to a hypertrophic scar. A hypertrophic scar is red and raised and itchy and generally responds to non-surgical treatments. Many scars do not heal with a hypertrophic scar responds and are flat on the surface, but there can be thick and irregular tissue underneath. This is again a normal process of wound healing and it tends to soften or remodel over many months. The perioareolar area has many ducts and glands, which may lead to increased inflammation and subclinical infection, which can delay wound healing.

It takes a year for scars to fully mature but they never "disappear" but should also hardly be noticeable if placed along the areola border. The incision for gynecomastia surgery goes partly around the areola and at armpit in our technique. We at Elegance clinic, Surat do not put any extra scar on lower chest for gynecomastia surgery. The armpit incision is for entry for liposuction and it is well hidden in armpit line which is natural line happening at junction of trunk and upper arm. As it heals it usually is well hidden due to the change in skin texture and color. However, for some patients, a thick scar known as a keloid may form leaving the patient with a new problem that may make him still feel uncomfortable going shirtless.

Choosing an experienced Board Certified gynecomastia surgeon is your best bet in getting optimal surgical results including the healing of the incisions. We cosmetic plastic surgeons are well trained for better suturing for barely visible scar. We use layered suturing that too with very fine sutures. This differentiates cosmetic plastic surgeons’ scar from any other surgeon. We also do not put any scar outside chest area. We do not put scar on chest wall to as usually done by other speciality to get access to gland of gynecomastia.

Usually gynecomastia incision is not prone for such scarring. Some men produce more collagen than others during the healing process. It is the excess collagen makes a raised noticeable scar. This can be genetic or the poor suturing technique which can cause such bad scarring. Past history or positive family history for bad scar formation is a warning to go for such surgery as you also can develop bad scar for you. It is a patient’s duty to inform doctor regarding this type of healing issues.

I stress to my patients the importance of following all preoperative and postoperative instructions in order for them to get the best results. I have found compression vests and early re-mobilization are helpful adjuncts in the minimization of post-operative scarring. When it comes to the care of the incisions, I advise my patients to use special gels preventing hypertrophic scarring and regular massage of incision sites. After the healing of the incisions, silicone sheeting is used to control the formation of keloids. If the hypertrophy develops I use intralesional injection or Laser / radiofrequency for the management of the scar. In the first year after surgery (really the first six months) steroid injections can be very helpful in breaking down any scar tissue formations. After one year the success of steroid injections to reduce prominent scar tissue diminishes considerably as the bonding of the collagen in the scar tissue becomes very mature. There is no harm in doing further steroid injections but be aware that the success of them at this far out from surgery may not be like what had occurred earlier after surgery. Should this fail you should consider a small revision through an open incision under local anesthesia as an office procedure. This can remove the problematic small area of scar with little risk of recurrence.

You can expect to find a result in 9-12 months following the surgery. There are many treatments that can help accelerate these topical laser treatments on discolouration of the scar and then bulk heating radio frequency treatments to facilitate softening of the glandular area. These bulk heating radio frequency devices help remove the swelling and edema which contribute to firmness of the scar tissue as well as enhance tightness and contour.

I think you have a high probability of ending up with an excellent result and it’s very important to follow-up with your operative plastic surgeon as they are in the best position for recommendations for post-operative care.

How do I gain weight? Whatever I eats I never gains weight. And my body always pains a lot. Can I suggest me wht to do?

Dietitian/Nutritionist, Hyderabad
How do I gain weight? Whatever I eats I never gains weight. And my body always pains a lot. Can I suggest me wht to do?
Hi lybrate-user here are 6 ways to gain weight healthily: 1. Eating 5 to 6 meals a day in order to gain weight, start eating 5-6 meals a day by breaking them into parts. Eating a lot at once may cause indigestion if the body fails to absorb all nutrients. Eat in small amounts, even if you are not hungry and there will be an increase in appetite from day to day. The aim should be to have a generously portioned breakfast, lunch and dinner, as well as two to three snacks in between. 2. Start weight training if you build your muscles through weight training, it will convert the extra weight into lean body mass and also stimulate your appetite. The extra muscle increases the rate of metabolism. When you start exercising you will often experience extreme muscle soreness but it goes away in 3-5 days. 3. Load up on protein besides weight training, a protein-rich diet can help you gain mass. Eating a meal heavy in protein shortly after finishing exercise can be highly effective in adding extra pounds to your body. However, a diet focused only on lean protein is not helpful. It is important to make sure that your diet has plenty of fat in it. Eat foods rich in protein like cheese, meat, eggs, etc to gain weight in a healthy manner. 4. Workout your entire body a lot of people focus only on training the muscles on their arms, chest and shoulders and this is a grave error. Firstly, it will give you a disproportionate body; and it will make you prone to injuries. Therefore, it's important to work out the entire body for a complete and balanced look. 5. Drink your calories to reach the calorie requirement only by eating may be tough. Drinking milk, milkshakes or protein shakes with little or no sugar can be an effective way to load up on the calorie requirements. 6. Be patient and believe in yourself gaining weight quickly in a healthy manner is unrealistic. Every body type is different and it takes months to gain weight. Living healthy by eating the right diet will increase your strength. It is also important to keep following the routine even if you don't see any gains. Caution: junk food and fried foods must be avoided; although have a tendency to add more fat to your body but are very low in vitamins and minerals which are essentially required to keep you really fit. Related tip: the most powerful way to put on weight - snacking right.

I am 61 year old male suffering from diabetes and poor penis erection I can't do sex due to no erection in penis. So please suggest me medicine.

MD - Obstetrtics & Gynaecology, MBBS
I am 61 year old male suffering from diabetes and poor penis erection I can't do sex due to no erection in penis. So ...
Penis gets erect due to good blood flow which goes there at arousal. In diabetics there is also a disturbance in the micro circulation due to the excess sugar and lipids. So such problems do arise. Best way to beat it would be to keep: - good control of sugar with diet and medicines - having a balanced diet - regular check ups of diabetes and sugar status from good md physician or diabetologist. When you visit the diabetologist, you may confide in him your sexual problems, doctor will prescribe some medicines to tide over the crisis also it would be best to keep your weight in check, and maintain it by regular exercises which will improve circulation and hence sex.

4 Sleep Disorders Associated With Back Pain!

Pain Management Specialist, Kolkata
4 Sleep Disorders Associated With Back Pain!

Pain related sleep disruption has affected a large number of people around the globe. Statistics has it that, in India, about 25% of the population suffers from pain-related sleep deprivation. Studies call it ‘the vicious cycle of pain and sleep’ as pain affects your ability to sleep and lack of sleep makes the pain even worse.

Back pain and arthritis are examples of some common pain-related medical disorders. People with these types of chronic pains have reported persistent sleeplessness or have had immense trouble falling asleep.

The following are the primary sleep disorders associated with chronic pain:

  1. Insomnia: It is a medical condition that is characterized by an inability to fall asleep no matter how physically exhausted you are. Insomnia can be acute (lasting for one night to a week) or chronic (that lasts for more than 3 weeks).
  2. Hypersomnia: It is a condition wherein you tend to sleep excessively; in this condition, you will have trouble being awake throughout the day or can fall asleep at any point of time.
  3. Sleep Apnoea: This is a sleep disorder wherein breathing pauses and resumes repeatedly. Risk factors include obesity, age and gender; it is more commonly observed in men. This condition can be chronic with symptoms such as snoring loudly or feeling very tired even after one has had a night’s sleep.
  4. Restless leg syndrome: It is a sleep disorder wherein you continuously move your legs while sleeping. However, this condition can also cause you to move your legs even if you aren’t sleeping.

Some of the causes of sleep disorders due to chronic pain are:

  1. Pain
  2. Worry and anxiety
  3. Sweating at night
  4. Depression and other mental disorders

A pain and sleep disorder should be simultaneous as both the components of it, pain and sleep, are interrelated. Some of the ways people with chronic pain can still have a good night’s sleep are:

  • Limiting caffeine intake
  • Abstaining from alcohol and smoking, as these disrupt the sleep cycles, thus aggravating the existing pain.
  • Practicing meditation and other relaxation techniques
  • Pain killers or sleeping pills can be administered, but only with the doctor’s advice.
  • Hot water fomentation over painful area during night, for better sleep.

In case you have a concern or query you can always consult an expert & get answers to your questions!
