It is important that you rule out infection as the cause of pain. Nerve pain is unlikely to present like this. Why are you on prednisolone? are you suffering from arthritis? please do not hesitate to contact me if you need any further assistance. Thanks & regards Dr. Manoj kumar khemani

My friend, when he was a child met with an accident with a sharp object in his eye. He lost his eye sight due to that and now he has only a partial eye sight to that eye (can detect only shapes which are close and that too with blur). His eye pupil lost it's normal exact circular shape. He can see with his other eye and due to this, he got squint too. Now he wants to get back his vision to his eye. Question: 1. Is it possible to get back the vision back completely? 2. What is the problem and it's name which caused this condition to him? 3. Such kind of treatment or what should be done to get back his eye sight completely. Note: Somebody told him, there may be optical nerve damage. Is it true? If yes, then what should be done to get back his eye sight completely?

Hello. Sorry about your friend's eye problem. Coming to your first question: unfortunately, it would not be possible to get back complete vision in the damaged eye. Vision lost during childhood is difficult to recover after so many years. The initial years of life are the ones that determine the growth and development of the eye. During this period the eye learns to see. Once the vision is compromised during childhood, there is very less chance of recovering it at such a late stage. Coming to your second query, the name of the condition would be amblyopia (post traumatic) or lazy eye. Also, there may be associated wound related scars and structural defects in the eye. There may be damage to the retina, lens or the cornea of the eye. As you mentioned, damage to the optic nerve may have caused optic atrophy in the eye. Regarding to your third question, it might be possible to treat him for the squint. The misalignment of the eyes could be rectified by surgery but it would not recover vision for him. Once again, sorry for your friend. Take care.

You may be suffering from androgenic alopecia which is also called as pattern baldness. The hairs start reducing in density at the crown (top) and also the hairline starts refeeding from the front. This is usually progressive throughout life unless treated. This may also be accompanied by severe dandruff. The FDA approved treatment for this condition is a lotion and tablets. There is no other alternative. No oil or cream will magically work because the hairs are getting miniaturised and eventually disappearing due to the hormonal effects on the hair roots. Along with this, you can also consider platelet rich plasma therapy for faster results. Please call me or contact me with photos using online consult option for proper examination and treatment. Do not start treatment without consulting. I can give guidance and then you can continue treatment on your own.,

Hi, one insect has gone in to my ear 3 days before. I concerned with doctor n said nothing is there, but I felt it was there. Can you help me out with following issues. 1) whether, any insect from ear can go to any part of the body like stomach or brain. 2) can it be die and still in the ear or it will just come out.

BHMS
Homeopath, Vadodara
Relax, dont be overconcious. Consult good ent surgeon if you haven't. 1) insect can not go to other part from ear. 2) alive or dead both possibilities are possible if insect is really inside. If it is still alive, it may cause pain and irritation.

. 1. It could be due to essential tremor. The cause of the tremor is unknown. In some cases it is hereditary and runs in families. There is no definite treatment unless it is severe 2 other causes of tremor could be stress, anxiety, panic, nervousness, inadequate sleep, physical exhaustion, strong emotion, hyperthyroidism, hypoglycemia, smoking/tobacco/alcohol abuse/withdrawl, excess tea/coffee, drugs like steroid/amphetamine, neurological disorder, cerebellar dis order 3. Investigate yourself to exclude the above causes of tremor after consulting neurologist 4. Avoid stress/anxiety/nervousness/ panic etc 5. Avoid excess tea/coffee/ smoking/alcohol if you have 6. Take good nourishing diet 7. Have adequate sleep. 8. Do a thyroid function test to exclude thyroid problem 9. Consult neurologist for further advice.
