I am losing hair quickly and have tried all shampoos but no effect yet. Can you please help me with this?

MBBS, MD (Skin & V.D. MAMC) - Dermatology

I am losing hair quickly and have tried all shampoos but no effect yet. Can you please help me with this?
Health Tips For Control Of Hair Fall Hair fall is experienced by most individuals in their lifetime. Most of the time hair fall goe unnoticed if the density of hair is good. Patients experience the hair fall though they are taking good diet and infact water intake is normal and even if they do not have any significant systemic disease. 1.Don't go for hair straightening and vigrous heat treatments if you are having hair fall. Its a myth that straightening would prevent hair fall. 2.Cover your hair when you are taking steam, sauana,or hot water bath 3.Treat your hair as a baby and pamper them. Do not use harsh shampoos and soap instead use a mild medicated shampoo and conditioner and infact wash your hair minimum twice in a week 4. Do not comb the hair when they are wet, let them dry a bit before you comb 5. You can oil the hair 1 hr. Before shampooing or washing, no neec to apply oil overnight. 6.Males And females have different pattern of hair loss and needs seperate consideration and treatment. 7. Wash your hair preferrably with luke warm water, avoid using hard water or underground water for washing them. 8.Hair Fall May expose some areas if your scalp, try to change combing pattern and do not tie your hair very tight. 9. Anti hair fall shampoos and serums may be applied after consultation with the dermatologist Hair fall or loss is a multifactorial problem where hereditary along with environmental factors and diet play an important role. Iron deficiency along with essential things like biotin, vitamin A along with other nutrients have a major role to play. Serums, tablets along with specified shampoos and conditioners can also help. Most of the time, this loss is progressive and may take 4-6 months to respond to treatment. Sooner the treatment is started better are the results. Though it's important to understand that some alopecia problems may not respond to best of the treatment modalities .So it's important to consult a good dermatologist on time .Mesotherapy and Prp are promising therapies which can be tried. U can visit our website www.drsuruchipurimakeovers.com. All these treatment definitely need maintenance sessions along with local lotions application under the supervision of dermatologist. Patients need multiple sessions for better outcome along with medical analysis .One can take biotin tablets along with Vitamin A rich diet and lots of red wine grapes with seeds. Dr.Suruchi Puri was the pioneer to do her thesis on drug therapy for hair loss in India which was interviewed on aaj Tak news channel and was also published in 2002 and from that time has many satisfied patients for treatment of hair loss through non surgical means like Mesotherapy or Bio hair treatment and prp treatment Prp results may vary from patients to patients and from Doctor to doctor depending upon how the prp is made. Ideally if you are able to concentrate prp to a level of 4-5 times the blood level of platelets, the expected results are good in most of the cases if done by an experienced dermatologist. Platelets ideally should be concentrated in house and injected immediately with aseptic precautions and at particular level and quantity for better results. Ideally it should be done by dermatologist himself or herself without relying on technicians /nurses for best results. We as the pioneer in hair loss treatment would suggest you to have all this in mind before you go for treatment for hair loss or hair fall. Ofcourse some persistent effort by the patient and its importance in final result can not be ruled out. All centres have their own protocols for the technique but the best results are obtained by the technique which keeps platelets in the solution in their viable form. We have the latest automated technology which is virtually painless for Injection. Prp treatment thus can be done in a very comfortable way with this latest technique. We would try to satisfy your concern as far as possible. Prp can be done for both females and males and at any age after 18 years. Ofcourse sooner it's started better is the outcome. Maintenance sessions are required and interval may vary from patient to patient as hair loss issue is a continuing process and thus patient may need multiple touch up sessions. Though hairfall is a continuous process and requires proper treatment and follow up and thus patient" s support and home care is also very important to get best results.

Can Severe Gas be a Sign of Irritable Bowel Syndrome?

MBBS, MD - General Medicine, DM - Gastroenterology

Can Severe Gas be a Sign of Irritable Bowel Syndrome?

Irritable bowel syndrome is a disorder, which generally affects the colon (large intestine). It usually shows symptoms like abdominal pain, cramping, bloating, diarrhea, gas and constipation. IBS is a long-term condition. It can result in sudden mood swings, depression and thus holds you back from living your life to the fullest. IBS can be controlled by managing lifestyle, stress and managing your diet. Medication and counseling could also be required to manage IBS.

Symptoms of IBS:

  1. Immense cramping and pain
  2. A feeling that your belly is bloated all the time
  3. Severe gas
  4. Alternating and sudden bouts of constipation and diarrhea
  5. Presence of mucus in the feces

Whenever you experience such kind of symptoms, it is always advisable that you must consult a doctor, so that it doesn't lead to a serious condition.

When should you consult a doctor for IBS?
IBS is not a chronic disorder and can be controlled by home remedies. It may also require medical treatment if the symptoms become acute and persist for too long. If you experience certain symptoms like rectal bleedingweight loss and heavy abdominal pain that might increase at night, you may be at a risk for colon cancer. If such symptoms persist, you should consult a doctor as soon as possible.

Causes of IBS:

  1. Foods: Most people are susceptible to IBS if they consume foods like spices, fats, fruits, cabbage, beans, broccoli, cauliflower, carbonated beverage, milk or alcohol. These foods irritate the lining of the stomach and trigger IBS. However, the trigger may vary from person to person.
  2. Stress: Signs and symptoms of IBS can also increase if you are very stressed out. Stress makes your muscles too worked up and this may result in IBS. However, you should know that stress aggravates or triggers the symptoms but doesn’t cause IBS.
  3. Hormones: Women are more likely to develop IBS. Fluctuations in the hormonal cycle can trigger IBS. This usually occurs around or during menstruation.
  4. Other illnesses: Sometimes illness such as gastroenteritis (infectious diarrhea) or bacterial overgrowth in the intestines can trigger symptoms of IBS.
  5. Age: You will be more likely to develop IBS if you are 45 years of age or above.
  6. Hereditary: People having a family history of IBS are more susceptible to develop IBS.
  7. Mental problems: Depression, personality disorder, anxiety and a history of sexual abuse can also trigger symptoms of IBS.

Why the doctor prescribe pantoprazole in many cases excluding the patient with acidity problem.
It is important that you follow the following advice: Firstly, don’t miss breakfast, lunch or dinner. ... Secondly, avoid aerated drinks, tea, and coffee. ... Also, include milk and diary products in your diet. ... Don’t remain hungry for long periods of time. ... Raise the head of your bed if symptoms interfere with sleep. If your bed allows for it, raise the head of it by 6 to 8 inches. Gravity will keep the acid in your stomach. Don't just pile up pillows, though. These tend to bend your neck and body in such a way that increases the pressure. It will make the hyperacidity worse Consider losing weight. Losing weight may reduce some of the pressure on your lower esophageal sphincter, keeping stomach acid from leaking through Eat smaller meals. Decrease the amount of food you eat at any one time. This may reduce the amount of stress and pressure on your stomach For medication consult online in private.

For good sleep, just try out these simple ways - 1. Stick to a sleep schedule- Go to bed and get up at the same time every day. Try to limit the difference in your sleep schedule on weeknights and weekends to no more than one hour. Being consistent reinforces your body's sleep-wake cycle. If you don't fall asleep within about 20 minutes, leave your bedroom and do something relaxing. Read or listen to soothing music. Go back to bed when you're tired. Repeat as needed. 2. Pay attention to what you eat and drink - Don't go to bed hungry or stuffed. In particular, avoid heavy or large meals within a couple of hours of bedtime. Your discomfort might keep you up. Nicotine, caffeine and alcohol deserve caution, too. 3. Create a restful environment - Avoid prolonged use of light-emitting screens just before bedtime. Consider using room-darkening shades, earplugs, a fan or other devices to create an environment that suits your needs. Doing calming activities before bedtime, such as taking a bath or using relaxation techniques, might promote better sleep. 4. Limit daytime naps - Long daytime naps can interfere with nighttime sleep. If you choose to nap, limit yourself to up to 30 minutes and avoid doing so late in the day. 5. Include physical activity in your daily routine - Regular physical activity can promote better sleep 6. Manage worries - Try to resolve your worries or concerns before bedtime. Stress management might help. Start with the basics, such as getting organized, setting priorities and delegating tasks. Meditation also can ease anxiety. Identifying and treating any underlying causes can help you get the better sleep you deserve. Take medicine, Passiflora Q, 20 drops in half cup of water, 2 hours before your normal sleeping time If above things doesn't help you, then consult us for homeopathic medicines.

Mah weight is 90 kg n I want to reduce mah weight. Plzz tell me how can I reduce.

Mah weight is 90 kg n I want to reduce mah weight. Plzz tell me how can I reduce.
Hello, It's good to reduce weight at right time as many problems are directly related to overweight! Go through the following guidelines and implement them in your routine: Management: 1: Drink plenty of water (at least 2-3 l/d) or other calorie-free beverages. 2: Be choosy about nighttime snacks. 3: Enjoy your favorite foods. 4: Have 6 meals per day - 3 main courses and 3 snack meals (snack meals should be healthy). 5: Do regular exercises daily (start with light and later may be little vigorous) . Exercise decreases the stress hormone in your body, burns calories and also increases the blood circulation. Preferably brisk walking, swimming, cycling, skipping. 6: Eat seasonal fruits. Fruit helps to satisfy your sweet tooth thanks to its natural sugars, while fresh vegetables help you fill up more quickly. Fruits and vegetables contain fiber to help you feel full quickly. 7: Eat more whole grains and cut simple carbs. Whole wheat bread, oatmeal, whole wheat pasta, sweet potato, and brown rice are all excellent sources of energy and sources of nutrition. 8: Choose lean proteins instead of fatty ones. 9: Cut the salt from your diet. Eating more sodium causes your body to retain water, which can cause you to feel bloated and gain more weight. 10: Don't skip meals. When you skip meals, your body stops breaking down fat and starts breaking down muscle tissue. Muscle tissue burns more calories at rest than other tissues, so you're actually working against your goals 11: Eat at home. Going out to eat makes it too easy to cheat. Food sold at restaurants is commonly much higher in fat, sodium, and other weight-loss killers. 12: Give yourself a treat now and then. If you're attending a party or going out for a special occasion, allow yourself an indulgence. Just make sure that these indulgences don't become daily habits. 13: Go for a health walk. Gear up yourself daily for a health walk which not only shed off your extra calorie, but also reduces the stress levels. 14: Take small frequent breaks for a quick walk in between as sitting for long hours together encourages the accumulation of fat in the body! Medication: Start taking Schwabe's Phytolacca Berry tablets/ thrice daily 1/2 an hr before the meals for 1 month. Thereafter revert me back for further guidance. All the best!
